The truck I have is a company vehicle I've used since new. It only failed to start once and I only needed to wait 10 minutes to have it start. Reason unknown. This truck has been serviced regularly and performs flawlessly. Canadian winters are no obstacle as long as you have winter tires and keep a couple of sand bags over the rear axle for severe winters. If driven with a light touch the fuel economy is outstanding even with a decent load. The interior is very spartan cheap in fact. It is functional, the climate controls work well but I dearly miss a center armrest of some kind. There isn't much this truck won't do. You can take this truck, put it to task and it won't let you down!

Epic Fail

The truck is an electrical and engine mechanical nightmare. Problems are too many to list. But here is a few common annoying issues. Tires wear on the front end no matter how many or by who the alignment is done by. There is a theft deterrent ignition that will make you late to muliple appointments on a regular basis. Changein the ignition switch is a costly waist of time. The fix for this issue is to wait 10minutes and try again starting the truck. Hopefully it does. The blower for the a/c works when it wants to. Eventually leadeing to a 100% failure burning out the wireing harness also. Dash lighting works 60% of the time. There is a sound made by the engine top end that sounds like the truck is a diesel. This is a gasoline engined vehicle. Exhause manifold cracks if water is splashed on it while driveing. Basically this is why chevrolet is no longer the manufacturer of choice for me. I've been a chevy fan for most of my life. They managed to change my opinion by designeing and building this truck with the help of crackheads.

The Bitterness of Poor Quality

In the year that I've owned this truck, I've gone through 3 sets of tires, 8 alignments, 2 body control modules, and 2 brake light switches. Chevy knows about a serious problem with the front suspension on this truck (they've issued 5 service bulletins to their dealerships on this subject) that causes the front tires to wear prematurely and excessive vibration. The truck won't hold an alignment. What is worse is that I've been in the process of lemon lawing this truck since March and Chevrolet refuses to acknowledge or take responsibility for the problem. The tires are so bad now that the treads are separating. Whatever you do spare yourself the horrible experience of owning a Colorado.

This truck is cheaply built. I have had to replace the tires on it at 30K miles. Now they tell me I need to spend $1500-2000 on new brakes, shocks, struts, and tie rods. I have had the front end aligned once and it needs it again at 50K miles. The interior molding in the windshield was ruined after 1 year. Numerous rattles and squeaks. I would be ashamed as a manufacturer to sell this vehicle.

The Colorado is a great looking truck, on the outside that is. I would trade the interior of my truck for an older model S-10 anyday. The seats and door panels are both very cheap in appearance. In fact, the only good thing about the interior is the leg room. I'm 6'5 and I fit very well.

I really enjoy driving this truck. I've had no problems at all. I have yet to get under 21 mpg. Have gotten as high as 28.1. The 2.8L 4cyl is very surprising in the amount of power it puts out. Would definitely buy another one if I was in the market.

I recently purchased a new 2005 Colorado ZQ8 Regular cab with the 5 cylinder and manual transmission. The truck performs well and accellerates better than I expected. The handlng is sharp, but with a slight penalty in ride quality. The interior is smartly executed, with everything in good reach, and the seats are way more supportive than the ones in my previous S-10. The Interior space is immensely more too. The styling is killer, and in black it looks mean going down the road.

No problems for a compact truck. It has good low end pickup, is fairly comfortable on long trips, an I'm pleasently suprised at the good gas mileage. The truck is used in my courier business, and am pleased so far.

This truck so far has exceeded my expectations. I love the ride, fuel economy and excelent shifting auto transmission. First tank of gas from the dealer I got 24.1 mpg. I wasn't even driving it in a way to get good mileage since it was being broke in. I should be able to easily get 26+ mpg after the break in period.

I truly enjoy driving this truck. It has performed better then expected it the snow and ice of northern Wisconsin. Yet it is only a 2 wheel drive. The one area that need some attention is the seating. The angle is too straight for long distance travel. I suggest that they make a small adjustment in this area as well as a little more room for the passenger's feet. These are only minor problems and can be fixed with a bit of thinking. The ride is smooth and the road noise is minimal. great truck. Just having fun.

This Chevy is all truck in a small package . The 4cylinder engine is a lot more powerful than its number of cylinders would suggest. Great gas mileage, nice ride, handles great, and even keeps most of its power when the AC is on. I put it through the mill for a few hours in all sorts of city and highway driving and it kept up with me fine. If you are looking for a great looking truck with good mpg and is just fun to drive, this is the truck for you.

I traded in an 2002 TRD off road 4x4 V6 5 speed extended cab Toyota Tacoma for my Chevy Colorado last year. I must say that I'm satisfied with this truck. I get better miles to the gallon than the V6 Tacoma did, plus my turning radius is much tighter than before because I'm running a regular cab now, instead of extended cab. I replaced the stock factory tires that came with the truck for some 31x10.50-15 mudsters. Doing the tire switch solved most of the ground clearance problems I was having when off roading in the forest. My only problems with the truck so far have been: a rough idle engine miss for a few minutes during cold starts. This happened about 3 times during the cold winter months.

I purchased my Colorado as a replacement for my S10. As a long time Chevrolet customer I was very disappointed in the ride. My standard cab seat is very uncomfortable to the point I have been trying to trade or get rid of it already. My back's taking a beating. Other than poor ride it seems to handle good and has been dependable. I sought help from the dealer and from Chevrolet without relief. Factory said too bad thats the way its made and there is no defect. Looking for something else

This is a pretty average truck. It doesnt really excel in any area. I went on a trip to Wisconsin and was driving thru the mountains and the little 4 cylinder engine could not take it. It's comfortable inside but not great. Long trips are tiring. The manual is pretty good but needs a broader range of shifting. And what is up with no key holes on the passenger door?!!!

Since I have had this truck I have loved it. It feels more comfortable than my old F250 that I traded in and the fuel economy is much better. I have made it from Stow, Ohio to Roanoke, Virginia on half a tank of gas. The truck runs smooth and quiet, you can really feel the power of the engine as well with all of the pick up and go. Since I have had the truck I have had the bed lined with Line-X and I have added a class 3 hitch to pull a pop-up camper and my boat. Even when towing the truck has shown no problems. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a good mid size truck today.

Truck comes lowered which ,along with the 50 series tires, combine to emit a disconserting semi "hobby horse" ride quality on non asphalt freeways.Typically ,the partitions in the concrete slabs can bring on an affect not too distant from that of feeling as if the tires are out of balance. The power is adequate- especailly at the higher rpm levels designed in the new 3.5L mill but the initial low end grunt of the now defunct 4.3 V-6 is missing.Comfort levels and economy seem to be excellent and the new look is refreshing and aggressive.Wish the towing capacity was a bit higher but for everyday use I think the new Colorado will be just fine.

I previsouly had a ford ranger and now currently a colorado, I like the colorado a lot better in some ways. I have the 3.5 I-5 liter which has more power than my previous 4.0 V6 The towing capacity is lower than that of my ranger. overall I am happy with the truck. The colorado handles turns very well.

The 5cyl/5spd Z85/LS Reg Cab more than fills the need for a mid-sized, inexpensive, tow capable truck. The LS version is the best value, having several nice addl features. Ride is excellent. Concerning comments about the Chevy dash: it's a truck not a Bentley. Who wants to spend big bucks for a fancy dash? The dash is simple, functional, and durable. Furthermore, the Chevy dash is better than the competing Toyota dash because it is smooth all across the bottom. The Toyota has obnoxious protrusions all over the place. The 5cyl is surprisingly powerful and worth the extra fee. Visibility is great; ride is excellent (for a truck).Silky smooth clutch, great shifter.

I've had this truck for only 5 months but it has been great so far. It gets great gas mileage (22highway) for a 4x4 truck and 5 cylinder engine (also comes in 2x4, and 4 cylinder engine). This truck is small, drives more like a car than any other truck I have driven, very manuverable and convenient. Compared to any other trucks on the market I think that the Colorados and Canyons (GMC same thing, different label) are the best deal.

The interior space in the 2 door regular cab is plenty for me. I like the MP3 system / stereo. The 3.5 eng has plenty of zip and torque. Overall, the size makes is easy to drive in traffic. 4WD in Wisconsin winter weather is great! I found this to be much more reasonable price wise to the Toyota which I also considered.

I love this truck, I had S-10 and Silverados before, S-10 too weak and Silverado too much for my needs. I bought this truck with over 20K miles on it now it has 163K miles. Never a mayor problem with it, has never been abused even when it is my winter vehicle in Michigan were snow and ice are tough on cars, this truck has no rust. The ride is a bit noisy, there is good amount of space in the cabin to be a single cab, the 3.5L five inline engine gives you plenty of power, this truck is fast. My truck is 2wd but with ABS, traction control, and snow tires, I never miss a 4wd vehicle. Great truck.

Basically, when I started, I was looking for a used truck, and was willing to spen no more than $15,000. I was at Cooper Chevrolet in Anniston, Alabama, in the used car section, when I saw this base truck listed for $16,200. I asked if I could drive it, they said yes, and it was a love affair from then on. This truck has a real strong engine, vortec 2800 and gets great gas mileage (24 to 25 mpg). I am glad I bought this new truck, although it was a little more than I could afford, it is worth it. The build is a little cheap, but it is one solid tough truck.
