I owned the X5 for six years before I sold it. During those six years I didn’t have one single problem. I replaced the tires once, got oil changes once a year, and replaced the wiper blades. Simple, inexpensive, and worry-free. The interior is not quite as luxurious as their sedans. I’ve had other BMWs, a 7 and a 650, both were far more lush inside. However, the X5 did have all the technology one could want... including head-up display, accident avoidance, great navigation, voice control, Bluetooth, interior lighting, and economy mode that turns off the engine at stops (this can also be disabled). Run flat tires and the 360 cameras were two other safety features I loved. Parking was a breeze. I wish I had bought the AWD, but living in Florida and Hawai’i it really wasn’t necessary. Only thing I didn’t like was the depreciation. Like most cars, it was worth about 30% of the purchase price when I sold it at six years old. And actually mine was worth more than most because I had exceptionally low miles. I fear gasoline engines will only depreciate faster as we move towards electric vehicles. Overall, if you find one with low mileage, well cared for, you’ll be buying an exceptional SUV.

This is the Best SAV that I have owned to date. Reliability, safety and resale value is important to me and this stands true with this X5!

105,000 miles and I want it to last forever. Tight as if it were only a year old; great car.

I follow maintenance routines and have had no issues, she still drives like a dream 6 years in. It competes with most sport cars and fits my whole family comfortably. I’m replacing my second car with the new model. Highly recommend this with the v8!

Motor and handling top notch. Trim and interior luxurious and sturdy. GPS decent but not great. BMW turned the traffic off after 3 years which I was not expecting and I did not purchase more out of principle. Now you can buy a car with the apple car play app and get better maps and traffic as a benefit of your phone.
