DETROIT — With the official reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette just weeks away, spy photographers have put together their best renderings yet of the upcoming sports car.

Using Corvette convertible prototypes as the basis, the renderings show the dramatic new shape of the fully redesigned sports car. Recent leaks of the Corvette's front end design have fueled speculation about the Corvette's styling, not to mention its hardware.

Set to debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 2014 Chevy Corvette will feature GM's new LT1 V8 and an all-new interior that's expected to finally give the Corvette the cabin it deserves.

There's no word yet on whether the convertible will appear alongside the coupe in Detroit, but these renderings should give you a good idea what it's going to look like when it does arrive next year.

Edmunds says: With only weeks until the official unveil, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette remains one of the most anticipated new cars of 2013.

Chevy will be the laughing stock of Autodom if the rear-end looks even close to those renderings. Looks like a Camaro dragster.

I also think the center quad exhausts are much to large and two should be on each corner on a V8 powered car. Looks alot like RV hook-ups or a water tanker.

First of all, I'm still frustrated with the web site changes. Just not smooth and easy to use any more. As for the feature on the Corvette renderings, why bother when we'll see the real thing at the Detroit Auto Show in a few weeks? Must be a slow time of year for automotive related stories.

Did a 10 year old design that?

While I am not allowed to tell too much, I have seen the new C7. And this rendering does not look like it at all. To throw off and mislead potential spies the General put some foam inserts on the inside of the cloth cover. This will distort the lines of the car when it is covered with the cloth. Another hint are the wheel wells. Look closely at the covered car and then look at the poorly done rendering. There is not enough space between the wheels and the body of the car. There are other discrepancies. Who can find them?
