Tons of Fun!

2001 Audi TT Coupe 180hp Quattro AWD 2dr Coupe (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

Great car, nothing but tons of fun on the roadways. After three years of being on the market, the body style is still unique and catches the eye and approval of all. Easily fits two sets of golf clubs in back which make it a very practical sports car. The TT does not have the same raw quickness and feel as a frind's BMW Z3 3.0 , but not many cars do. The TT certainly has enough get up and go and roadhugging guts to satify all but the most experienced and trained drivers. Second and third gearswhen pushed through the 2000-6000 RPM range is quite a rush. I can't wait til the new V8 Audi A4 hits the showroom!

A few more small electrical problems than expected, ie, replace driver window twice and horn relay once. However always dependable driver. Onboard computer overly sensative but once you realize this and thqat mostly it will reset itself, becomes less annoying. Overall, a fun car to drive and the design is as momumental as an Jag XK120. I disagree with some of the editor ratings- excellent storage for this type of car. Slightly regret not having gotten the 225hp.

A lot of the so-called expert reviewers knock the TT for performance (especially compared to peers such as the S2000). However,I think the car performs incredibly well for the avg. road driver and you're likely to be thrilled unless your an F-1 driver. The style and quality of construction have been well documented and there is no doubt in my mind that the TT is an instant classic destined to appreciate in value over the long-term.

I really enjoy this car dont regret it for a minute. I do notice however a lot of cars coming out like the 350z are cheaper for better performance. Umm makes me wonder maybe audi can come out with a TT powerhouse

Best car ever!

Excellent performance, great acceleration, braking and handling. The craftsmanship is excellent and there are no creaks or glitches of any kind. The cupholder fits a 12 oz. cup without a problem. I am 5'7", 160 lb. and fit in the car like it was made for me. If you need a back seat, get a sedan. The seat is mainly there to reduce insurance cost, but if you fold it down you can fit quite a bit of luggage. Ingress and egress are as easy as expected for a sports car.

The Audi TT is the definition of fun. It handles like a dream. The quattro system keeps the car hugging every turn at amazing speeds. You may laugh but I was amazed at how much the coupe can hold, fold down the back seats (they're not useful sitting in at all). But with the seats down i was able to fit in all four off my street tires when i had my tires and wheels changed for winter.
