Smoother ride but interior design does not impress

2022 Lexus GX 460
Even though I was told new 2022 GX 460 has the same engine and transmission as previous years I feel the ride is smoother now. The engine and or fan do not sound as rough as my 2019 GX460. As far as the interior redesign, the new 10.3" navigation screen is actually smaller in height which makes a difference in seeing the route. I have to zoom out more which makes the map smaller than the … previous screen built into the console. It is also more exposed to the sunlight. There is an optional anti-glare screen Lexus has when you perform a custom build, but dealers do not have it in stock yet. On a plus side, Lexus finally exposed physical fan more/less buttons but still hides AC. Now I have to do even more clicks to turn it on/off. Overall, the new screen introduced more clicks than the previous. I hate it. The touch pad is disruptive to driving and I do not know anyone who likes it. I have not tried the Apple or Android app that can pair with the SUV to allow mirror features of an Apple/Android device, such as a smartphone, on a car's dashboard information and entertainment head unit. This will be nice to mirror google maps as I find traffic info is much better on my Android phone.
