38000 mile review
My comments seem to unfortunately mirror other who have posted a review for this model. I to have had several rattles pop up, humming from the rear at highway speeds, navigation unit failure, leaking water pump, leaking sunroof, abs sensors replaced, and two battery replacements so far. This is my first Toyota and quite sure It'll be my last.
2011 Venza- not what I expected!
It's been a rather dissapointing 24 months with my Venza AWD. It's been in no less than 11 times for repairs, rattles in the dash/console, interior lights have quit working twice now along with all the dash backlighting, the automatic transmission sometimes has a very long delay before upshifting, Toyota has reflashed twice now and it works great for a few months then the problem returns....they now blame it on my driving style!?!? Im also very unhappy with the fuel economy, its downright V8 like at 15mpg average with a 50/50 mix of in town and interstate driving. Not sure I'll be keeping this one much longer.

2011 Venza Good Value, Good Looks, Fit and Finish Inside not Perfect
I wanted 4-cylinder to save gas (180 hp is plenty enough for me). I wanted a hatchback style so I could put more stuff in back. I needed rear seats that folded down so I could put more and longer stuff in. I wanted leather since it's easier to keep clean and looks more professional. I wanted a panoramic roof so that it makes the back seats feel more spacious and comfortable to sit in. I wanted USB and MP3 capability so I don't have to change CDs so often. I wanted good looks on the outside. I wanted a nice, polite, clean and clear-looking front instrument panel. I wanted a non-luxury, well-known brand so I can get max. value for money and it it fixed anywhere. The Venza was it.
Loving It!
I bought my Venza used with 76K on the clock in May of 2018. Since then I've put nearly 10K miles on. I bought it from a local Toyota dealer. It's my daily driver back and forth 25 miles each way to work. I was a little concerned about how it would handle winter weather, since I often leave before snowplows are out. But this thing just ignores it all and drives just like you're on dry pavement. The first real snowfall we had, I took it out in an open area with both paved and unpaved areas and tried to get it loose and out of control, just to learn how it would react and what it took to get it back. The AWD system made it nearly impossible to do so, and I'm a former dirt track stock car driver. It almost makes you to confident, which could be a downside. The interior fits my 6'5" frame well and comfortably. Lay the back seats down and you have as nearly as much room as the bed of your average short box pickup. It's not a "sit you back in the seat" vehicle, but gets to highway speeds faster than you expect because the 3.5 is so smooth. The only thing I really have problem with is the lack of map updates for the navigation system. A bypass for a local city that has been functional for 5 years still isn't programmed into the latest update. The Venza isn't sporty, nor is it "sexy", but it is a highly capable AWD vehicle with ample cargo room that is a dependable, reliable, and versatile. I love it.

Glad I'm leasing this, I'll be giving it back!
Maybe I should've got the 6 cyl but there is a lot not to like about the 4 cyl. I've had mine for 10K mi and the handling is very poor, the car drifts and seems like it's constantly out of alignment, even right after they align and balance it. I took it in twice so far and it seems fine for maybe 2 weeks then it starts drifting again. Hate it. The power is too weak and the engine sounds like a cheap engine with a course sound. Very loud compared to my Odyssey. Gas mileage is poor, even on the 4 cyl. There is a lot of room for improvement on this car. Meanwhile, I'll be renting other cars for lengthy test drives before buying my next car. :(
