Used 2005 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Consumer Reviews
Great ride, great investment, great truck
I just recently bought the 05 Tacoma and I absolutely love it. It has the interior feel of an SUV and rides like a Mercedes. This truck was made with a lot more attention to the interior than previous models. The seats are so comfortable and the dash is easily accessible and looks great. The interior is so roomy in the front and the back. But the best thing about driving this truck is the horsepower. When I first bought the truck I left the dealership parking lot spinning the tires not realizing how much power this truck had to offer. I love my truck and I would never trade it in for anything else. Just like every other person I wanted to get the most for my money and I definitely found it.
Great technology
I opted for the Short bed so it fit in my garage, still have about 18" left over. I traded my 2003 Corolla for the Tacoma. Based on the research I had done the Tacoma always came on top. Handling: Has excellent acceleration, corners and stops nicely. The interior is pretty confortable and feels like a small SUV or a car. So far I have averaged 21 MPG, but I don't get on it too hard! I have added Toyota running boards, they look great and the Off RD package adds a lot. Oh, the 24Valve, V6, 281 ft.lbs of Torque is ready to haul. I decided on the Tacoma for reliability. We are planning a long trip next week. Cheers to all who have one.

one versatile truck
Only on my 3rd tank but just love all this truck can do, power to tow my boat, seating, more bed space than the competition, storage everywhere, and pretty good gas mileage. 19.5 mpg first tank, 19.7 the 2nd, combo of city and hwy with even some towing, which used to just kill the mpg on past trucks I've had. Impressive job Toyota. I use premium as recommended for the V-6, note that if you just get 2 mpg more than regular and drive at least 800 miles/month, premium is actually cheaper to use if it doesn't cost more than about 20 cents extra per gal. Do the math too and you'll see, plus much better for the life of this particular engine I bet.
05 Taco PreRunner Double Cab
Just bought this truck with TRD Off Road pkg. So far no problems. Im 56 yo and I love it...and so do the kids. Got bed extender with clear mask and tint all around. This truck is awesome and built to last. Toyota really did its homework on the redesign.
great truck
Excellent truck, drives like a small truck with the power and dimensions of a larger truck. Another couple of inches of leg room in the back would be nice.
