SO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude this car has soo much power its unbelievable(95 horsepower like holy crap). I always floor it in my baby because its so fast. I fly back into my seat every time I accelerate its crazy. I always take risks in this car. I turn when other people normally think it is too risky. I've almost totaled my car a few times, but it was way worth it. And that blind spot monitoring is great and always tells me when I'm out of my lane. And that pedestrian detection has saved countless lives from my driving. I personally also like to floor it to its top speed of 84mph on the highway SO FAST. Overall I give this car a 10/10 and I highly recommend it.

Quite simply, the most amazing vehicle I've ever owned. The technology is amazing and makes me happier every day. There's no other car I would buy for 3 times the price! Love, love, love.

Better electric range than EPA rating

Primary reason for buying a Prius is fuel efficiency. I have not been to a gas station yet, so I don't know the mpg. But except for one trip of about 450 miles, all of my miles have been electric miles, and I estimate that I am getting about 4.6 miles/kWh or better. That's equivalent to 155 mpg-e, much better than the EPA rating of 133. Admittedly, my driving has been "gentle", and very little of it at highway speeds. On the negative side, the touch-screen layout need improvement, presumably just a firmware upgrade (which Toyota should offer at no cost to owners). One example: when the speed limit is displayed, the numbers are TINY. March 2020 update: Miles/kWh is about 4.7. The all-electric range in warm weather is much better than the EPA rating of 25 miles, more like 30 to 33 miles. But in cold weather it drops to as little as 22 miles. And even that is not quite right, because in cold weather the gasoline engine starts up within the first mile or two when in EV mode even with a full battery, and it stays on for some 2 or 3 miles before going back to EV mode (gasoline engine off). I have asked Toyota tech support about this, but they know nothing. My dealer also knows nothing about this. The manual does state that the gasoline engine may turn on when "the system determines that the gasoline engine needs to be started", whatever that means! I think Toyota should either fix this if it is a software bug, or explain what the system has determined causes this to happen. One last point: Although the car is generally quiet when running on electricity, there is a fair amount of road noise. A little more sound-proofing would be a welcome improvement.

It doesn't drive itself and it doesn't fly. But the range is enough for my wife to drive to work on just battery, and she can charge for free there. After the federal and state rebates, it's a great value. Believe the other reviews about the cargo space though. This is not the car to take on a 2 week vacation with 4 people. As a commuter car, it's great. And with solar panels on my roof, and hopefully another array going in next year, the cost of driving carbon free most of the time isn't that much. A year later, we still love it. The only interior thing we'd change is to add adjustable lumbar support on the driver seat like the prius-V.

If you plug in after each errand you can use virtually no gas at all. We made a 500 mile trip using no plug in at all and still averaged 61 mpg!
