Used 1996 Toyota Previa Consumer Reviews
Wonderful
1994 Van with 262,000 miles now and zero problems. The only thing we have have to do is regular maintanence like breaks tires and oil changes. Wonderful vehicle!
Terrific all-around flexible workhorse
We bought the '94 at the very beginning of the MY, paid top dollar (probably) and ALWAYS thought we made a terrific decision! The quad chairs offered outstanding comfort and tremendous flexibility. I often used the van as a small truck for mulch, etc, once loading it with three full-size (empty) pallets. I-4 engine was underpowered and also lead to less than optimal fuel economy, but small price to pay for an OUTSTANDING vehicle!
Reliable friend
The Toyota Previa is one of the most reliable minivans ever built. Sure it's a little underpowered and has some unusual engineering. But just so reliable and great visibility from the driver's seat. The new Toyota Sienna or Honda minivans are nice. Even though I'm impressed with all of the improvements, there is something about my old Previa that I prefer over new. Mine has over 190K on the meter but has served as a work vehicle and a fully outfitted RV for almost 9 years with no problems. I do all of my own maintenance and would drive cross country tomorrow without a worry. It just doesn't break. The only problem is rust starting to form around the rear wheel wells
Proud owner of the egg.
My Previa was purchased from a charity auction. It was filthy, and needed a lot of regular scheduled maintenance, and some repairs. I research this vehicle before I purchased it to see the great reviews of longevity with normal servicing, and took a chance and bought it. A fun vehicle to drive even with up to six adults on board.
The World's Greatest Minivan Supercharged
We have had two previa minivans. a 1993 and a 1995 with supercharger that now has only 277,000 miles. I drive It everyday. It does not burn oil, PW, PS, Power door locks, rear wiper and a/c all still work. This engine was made in Japan and everyone that has one loves them. It is more reliable than my S80 Volvo that we bought with 77,000 miles. I wish this engine was still available in the US, but it has too much nickel and stainless steel in the engine and block. We could not afford to put that much good nickel in an engine. I used it several times to pull a fully loaded 9x12 u-haul trailer from Michigan to Texas. yes, the van and the trailer was loaded. Everytime I go on a trip, I smile and think that this thing does not owe me another mile but WOW.
