Used 2010 Toyota Highlander SUV Consumer Reviews
Great SUV
After owning 10 other cars and driving over 850,000 miles I decided to give the Highlander a try even with the recalls. I am very impressed with the build quality. It feels solid on the road and the handling is very good for this size of vehicle. I am coming from an Audi which has tight steering and I have had no problem adjusting to the lighter steering feel and I do not notice any wandering on the highway. The V6 is very smooth and I have been seeing 22 MPG on the highway. There are some interior components that appear cheap, but they work fine and that is what counts. The leather seats are comfortable. Overall, I find the Highlander to be a solid performer.
Good, solid Auto-Just the right size
Since my 2002 Highlander with 183,500 miles needed some major repairs, I decided to trade it in on the 2010 model. My 2010 is just the base model with a 4 cylinder engine, front wheel drive. This engine is a bit larger than my other model, so the extra pep is nice, ride is good, interior is nice and comfortable. This physical size of the Highlander is just right, not to small, and not too large. The engine is a bit noisy at times, and I hope the 6 speed transmission last like my 2002 model. I change my own oil & filter religiously at 3500 miles, and the only thing I do not like about this new engine is the oil filter, it is a messy process.

First New Car
Bought this Toyota Highlander New - looked for a 7 seater SUV for our family of 5 for 8 months. Ended up with this and am very satisfied. Can only say this is a great vehicle. Wish the gas mileage was a little better but still it's an SUV. I have three young kids and they all fit well with room to spare. Love this car. I also plan on keeping it for 10 years.
Good bye To an old friend
Bought new and has been an enjoyable, functional and low mainteneve vehicle. Have seldom had this off road. Time to trade for a smaller car as I get older and kids are gone.

Other than gas mileage, love it so far!
My previous car was a Dodge minivan. This 2010 Limited Highlander is great upgrade from that. (And that was a very decent car, for a minvan, I would recommend it) We got the Limited. Love the leather seats, 19" wheels, backup camera, etc... Very smooth ride and great acceleration. So far my only complaint is the gas mileage. I drive very conservatively, no tromping on the gas pedal for me, most of my driving is on a flat highway 60 - 65 mph and the highest average I've gotten is 17.5 mpg on the computer. Pretty disappointed about that. When I mix in more city driving, it is down in the 15-16 mpg average. Other than the gas mileage and how easily the paint scratches, I'm very happy with the car.
