Good reliable used car
I bought with 85k miles and now have 108k miles. So far I've done mostly minor repairs including 2x window motors, alternator (2x), battery, valve cover gasket and the large 90k service which includes timing belt and water pump replacement. This may seem like a lot but these repairs are relatively minor and my goal is to keep the car on the road for another 100k miles. Performance wise the v6 model feels strong. The interior design is very functional and sits 5 people comfortably. The exterior paint is fading and has completely peeled from the side mirrors. This is fairly normal for a 12 year old car. Overall I am happy with the Highlander.

Toyota Highlander
I done a lot of research for about 2 months before I purchased a Toyota Highlander. My Chevrolet Trailblazer was wrecked. I decided to go with the Highlander after good remarks on Edmunds.com. I wanted something roomy that got good gas mileage. Love the sunroof & JBL radio system. No one is more picky than I am & I highly recommend this vehicle. Exterior is not as sporty looking as my Trailblazer, but it works fine.

Ex-Jeep owner
Love my Toyota. Used to own 4 Jeep Grand Cherokees over the years, but quality and customer service deteriorated over the years. Purchased a Lexus GX 470 for the wife and loved it. Purchased a Highlander for myself. Nice how that works huh? After 47,000, no issues, just changed the engine oil every 5,000 miles, transmission fluid and tires. I will stick with the Toyota family of cars/trucks for good.
highlander tires
The highlander is an extremely reliable car. My first was a 2002 with no problems and the second is a 2006 model that I've had for 10 months and so far so good.
Perfect Balance
The Highlander is a well-rounded vehicle and the perfect compromise. It combines great utility (passenger and cargo space), smooth comfort (plush and quiet ride), nimble and quick handling (plenty of power), good fuel economy (averaging 23 mpg w/ V6), and a reasonable purchase price. I replaced a Chevy Tahoe and the more manageable size is great when parking and maneuvering - yet the space inside is still ample. I compared against the RAV4 and found the HL to be more comfortable, upscale and attractive, for about the same net price. I skipped the third row seating as Id never use it, and I appreciate the under-floor storage locker thats provided instead.
