Highlander 04
The highlander offers a smooth ride. It drives like a car and feel extremely comfortable. I like the relative small size and easy handling. It fits well in my garage and feels lighter than any minivan alternative.

Love this SUV
I have owned the Highlander for only two weeks, I couldn't be more pleased! Since 1980 I have owned Volvos, this car is heavier and far better to handle. I purchased with it concern for traveling during snowy weather.
I love my Highlander!
I usually own my vehicles for a minimum of 8 years and I expect this one to go even longer. Not just because of the quality, it's a family friendly but also mom-friendly car. I love it. Plenty of horsepower to out maneuvre slow pokes on the road and still feel safe. It also looks great. The console was designed with a layout that does not require me to look to change channels, volume. It's 100% intuitive. All in all, GREAT purchase and not one second of buyer's regret.
Mackenzie the Highlander
Very comfortable and enjoyable to drive, mileage is 19 to 24 around town and 29 plus on the highway. Handles great on the Interstate and Forest Service roads. Only complaint is difficult to read odometer and clock in daylight.
SIMPLY THE BEST
ONE OF THE BEST CARS I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE RIDE IS EXCELLENT, NICE SIZE, HANDLES WELL AND RELIABILITY IS GREAT. IT IS WELL DESIGNED, EVERYTHING IS WHERE IT SHOULD BE. JUST ALL AROUND ITS A GREAT CAR, ITS AN SUV BUT IT RIDES LIKE A CAR. ITS BIG BUT NOT TOO BIG. ITS NICE LOOKING AND ITS A TOYOTA. I HAD A RAV4 BEFORE THIS AND WANTED SOMETHING JUST A LITTLE BIGGER AND THIS IS PERFECT. I HAD A MINOR PROBLEM WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BUT THAT IS IT. WHEN I TRADE IN I'LL DEFINITELY GET ANOTHER HIGHLANDER.
I love my Highlander
Enjoyable ride. Sharp looking inside and out.We receive many compliments on the color (red). Wish we get better mpg.
my high
compared to honda pilot...this is the CUV to buy.
awesome
you feel safe driving this kind of car. the best suv i've ever driven. the moment i started driving it i know it's the kind of car i was looking. highly recommended!!!
Loyal Toyota customer
The Highlander is my first SUV and I love it! The ride is so smooth and comfortable. It is not built as high as some other SUV's therefore it is easier to get in and out. Gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV (better than I expected). My average MPG is 20 to 21.
our first suv
We have had nothing but enjoyment with the suv the workmanship and quality are very good
First Toyota SUV
My wife and I purchased our Highlander about a month ago. So far, we have no complaints at all. We both really enjoy driving the Highlander. My wife likes the fact that it doesn't feel like she is driving some big vehicle, like a lot of the other midsize SUV's we test drove. One thing I would definetly suggest, is to get some quotes from dealerships online. I got a quote from the dealership for the Highlander we purchased, and the salesman at the dealership was asking about $2500.00 more than what I was quoted online. We had fun with him for a while, till we brought out the quote we had received online. Doing your research and getting some quotes definetly helps.
Toyota Highlander -
It is dependable, roomy, has great seats that are wide especially if you had a complete hip replacement. Has great vision. Smooth riding like a luxury car instead of an SUV. Great in rain and wet roads. Handles with ease on the open road or on country area streets.
Beware of the tires
Having never owned a Toyota we were expecting quality and refinement and the Highlander delivers. It replaced a 97 Volvo wagon and there is no comparision.
review rating
air leaks around window switches and map pockets, moon roof sw doesn't seem to function as discribed in owners manual. Trouble finding closed position. Steering tilt adjustment could be lower by 1 inch for long legs. Heater coil could be larger.
A good SUV with a few flaws
Had it for 6 months. Previous cars include Accord, Nissan Quest. Good power, comfortable and solid. Handles nicely. Quiet when windows are closed. Performs well in snow/ice. I truly enjoy driving it. Music system is excellent, NAV is very confusing and appears less capable than the Honda Pilot's. Susceptible to easy scratching inside and out. Wind noise is bad, but the low frequency reverberations when the back windows are open or sometimes when the moonroof is open by itself produce intolerable discomfort. A tolerable ride with moonroof or windows open without too much noise requires continuous adjustment of the windows depending on the speed.
A Good Choice
I spent 30 years driving domestic cars and recently found myself disappointed with Chrysler. I was in the market for a car-based SUV and chose the Highlander since I know many happy Toyota owners. Can honestly say I have never owned a new vehicle that has been this good from day one. No warranty items in first six months of ownership. The fit and finish is world class and the interior materials are of high quality. I am satisfied thus far with both the engine performance and fuel economy. I do not drive the V6 aggressively and average just over 20 mpg. The Highlander has met my expectations. Am glad I paid a bit more for the Toyota and did not buy a lesser quality product based on incentives
Great First SUV
If your looking for your first SUV, this is your car. The V6 AWD has a very smooth ride. When you first get in the car and look around you will find that their are no blind spots! Which is a plus for a SUV. The standard features are ample, and you really feel like you are getting the most for what you paid for. The third row seat is a nice feature. The only problem I see with that is the very limited leg room and the inability to easily get in and out. All in all, this is a great vehical. Have no regrets and I'm sure you won't either.
The best Car I ever owned
Formerly on LI I moved to upstate NY just west of Syracuse, snow country. last winter we had 182 in. The Highlander was a dream. I do lots of highway driving. I drove last week from LI to Boston then onto Syracuse almost 11 hrs in the car, No problem
love my truck
I was looking for trucks, I originally was going to buy a Lexus, I drove both and I decided to look at a Toyota, I bought the Sequoia, had it for a year and I loved it, it but it was too big like a bus. I tried the Highlander and that was it. I love the drive it's so comfortable, drives like a Lexus, half the price, it is wonderful in the snow, rain and sleet, kids love the dvd player and I love the handling. It handles like a car; I'm short so it is wonderful. I'll never drive anything but a Toyota Highlander, I highly recommend it.
3 Row Seat
Shifting from low speed to high speed. Trans needs to be changed. Slow from down to up shifting if you need the power fast forget it. Third row seating ok for kids not adults. To small on the seating. Dealer installed tires need to be better. Good ride, but you will replace them fast
The best car I have owned!
I've had this car for about 18 months and I can honestly say that it is the best car I have owned. It drives like no other SUV, midsize or larger size, that I test drove, and I test drove many. It handles beautifully on the highway and on local streets. The interior features are wonderful and not too big and bulky which I like. It is very easy for a small woman to drive and park! Overall I think it is a great SUV for someone who wants the luxury of a car but also wants to be able to get around any weather condition. BTW, it is made entirely in Japan! I love it, and will buy another in 16 years when the pain job gets bad or I have 250,000 miles!
It's okay
It's been an ok ride. Vehicle looks good but I have been very disappointed in the gas mileage. I'm not even getting 20 on the highway. It gets hard to drive on a long trip (which I do a lot of) uncomfortable seats (you'll feel everything and the passenger seat does not adjust, just goes back). I get knocked around by passing trucks because it's so light. You really have to hold on tight on the highway and that makes for a weary ride! The wind noise is also more evident on the highway as well. The transmission is sluggish and seems to hesitate now at 30,000 miles.
Review of 04 Highander V6 LTD
Excellent vehicle for fairly short times, gets uncomfortable on long (4 hrs or more) trips. I am 72 years old and this may not be a problem for a younger driver. Easy to park and maneuver, good visibility for driver.
Love this SUV! No Regrets!
Overall I love this SUV! I really did my research when deciding on what to buy. Pricing and reliabilty were big factors in my decision making. I was torn between the Honda Pilot or the Highlander, I'm glad I chose the Highlander. I've owned it for almost two years, and the only thing I would change is the rear window noise, EXTREMELY disturbing. I live in Chicago, and trust me winter driving can be a challenge, but this vehicle handled are winter storms w/no problems. You won't regret it.
Can't go wrong
This truck if you want to call it that - it is more like a car and is fantastic. The 4 cyl is plenty peppy and gives good gas mileage. The back seats also recline which is comfortable for the passengers. The build quality is very good and attention is paid to detail. It came standard with stability control and abs brakes and traction control so even without 4wd it is good in the snow. I don't regret buying it for one minute.
Good, but rattles a lot...
I bought the Highlander thinking that Toyota is the venerable brand. The vehicle had good build quality, the panels were very closely aligned with no obvious spacing, however, the big issue was that within 20,000 miles, I heard lots of rattles. Those rattles were coming from all over the vehicle. I felt that paying so much for Toyota made me feel like driving in a tin box, everything in the vehicle looked flimsy and about to break.
Almost there....
Easy to drive, very reliable, quiet and comfortable. Base model was reasonable in price, but those options add up fast ! Rear seat is only for kids, don't believe 2 adults can occupy.
Cincinnati
Confortable for short and tall.
Reliable SUV
Bought a highlander for safety features and AWD to drive with the grandkids. Met all expectations and more. In over 3 years had no problems.
Great car!
I love this car- SUV! I have had no porblems at all with 50,000 miles so far. Great storage, love the third seat option, and great visibility. I once had a "neck problem" and most SUVs were too "trucky"- not the Highlander- drives like a real car. Great in the snow! The only little annoying thing is that the tire pressure sensor light comes on (on the dashboard) and has to be reset frequently.
Quality and reliability
Solid quality car with a great view of the road. Back to the dealer only for upgrades or recalls. Original tires lasted 19000 miles, replaced with Bridgestone. Exterior remains in excellent condition looks like new.
An Amazing New Experience!
Hello! Everyone! How are you doing today? This Particular SUV Rides like you are Flowing On Air! It was Definitely an Extremely Smooth Ride! Yes! I Would Definitely Recommend this SUV to other people! Thank you 😊! Sincerely, Mr.Garfield Callens

Loretta's Highlander Limited AWD Review
After having driven Toyotas since 1979 I have found them all to be totally reliable. The Highlander is a perfect size. It doesn't sit up as high as other SUV's. So it is easy for me to get in and out of...I'm 5 feet tall. Being a Toyota fan I love everything about my Highlander.
Traded in Sequoia/Gas mileage
I was so tired of pulling into the gas station with the Sequoia. I've also had a 4Runner, which I prefer in all aspects except gas mileage. The Highlander is great on slippery roads and has enough space for kids and dogs. I like this car a lot.
my SUV
1. Interior color is beige and exterior color is white- manufacturer lacks sense of color coordination. Interior should match white, such as gray. 2. The cost of fuel is high. The gallon/milage is higher in reality than advertized.
