Used 2001 Toyota ECHO Sedan Consumer Reviews
Still going!
I have a 2001 that I bought 7 years ago. Just took it in for an oil change and asked for a checkup, came back with no required repairs! This car is 20 years old, with almost 300k on it, and it just keeps on going. I’ll be very sad when it finally goes.
love it
exactly the right design and function for a small town car. Not designed, nor particularly road-comfortable for long trips = over 200 miles.

Why did they stop making this?
This has been the best car I owned. I have 160,000 miles and have NEVER had a single problem. I did not need brakes until 135,000. There is no rust anywhere, and I'd drive it anywhere! This car has better leg and head room than most any other car I've sat in. Fun to drive and great mileage (>40 hwy). Great stereo too! Why did they stop making this?
Reliable gas saver
Excellent car if you enjoy filling up your car with gas knowing it will last a lot longer than that MEGA size SUV next to you. This is an extremly reliable little car with a fairly roomy interior and decent trunk space.
Ignore bad press - The best value!
This car is a delight to drive and own. Interior and storage room are far greater than much larger cars (including my Camry) and far more thoughtfully designed. The instrumentation took a second to get used to, but now I resent conventional look- through-the-steering-wheel displays. This is more natural and allows you to continue surveying the road. Super fuel efficient and surprisingly safe -. My Echo handled a bad side collision (I was plowed into) like a trouper. Not a hair was mussed. I thought the handling was nimble and responsive. It's a 1.5 liter and takes a moment to get up to speed, but I don't gun it from a stop anyway.
