If you need a car to commute and last for a very long time, it is your car. Very roomy with a lot of really great feature that come standard with it. Ride is smooth. I love my Toyota. Previous Corolla used for 14 years and it was still working fine. It only needed just your regular maintenance

So far the car is awesome to drive and the dealer in DT Los Angeles made this experience painless. Negotiations were done ahead of time, via email, text and phone. This probably cut 2 hours of wait time while at the Dealer.

Like a slightly smaller Camry.

Compared to a dozen 2018-2020 4 cyl Camry's I have rented and one that I own, the 2020 Corolla sedan is similar in many ways. Bump absorption is good and almost as good as the Camry, but road and engine noise suppression is slightly worse. Seats of the Corolla are actually more comfortable than the Camry due to better shaping that reduces pressure points. Acceleration is better too due to the ability of the continuously variable transmission to multiply torque. Corolla also feels more nimble due to its smaller overall size. Still, on longer trips I would chose the Camry for it's slightly smoother ride and less road noise and vibration as long as I had a memory foam seat pad to put on its front seat to reduce pressure point pain and fatigue.

burn it to the ground

I had a Corolla before and absolutely loved it. I loved it so much, when it needed a new engine, I didn't even question it, I just asked how much and do it. I THOUGHT i would get close, NOT. This 2020 corolla SE is by far the absolute worst car I have had in my entire life. Where to start with the problems, before, or after, you start the engine. I guess, before. If you get in at night, door controls are hard to see controls to open other doors for passengers, black on black is hard enough, much less shadows from hand hold. Back door did not open wide enough for comfortable entry for kids, or driver’s property for work. Once inside, the seats are uncomfortable when driving for more than 30 minutes. Also car needs two apps to connect with the car, not one app but two. Radio controls are not easy to figure out, it can be done but not ‘intuitive’. Once driving, leave the radio alone, you will wreck trying to change channels or settings or anything. A\C controls are workable after a time or two. Two apps always run in the back ground to drain phone battery, unless you delete the apps every time after you park the car. Leaving the apps on the phone, it CONSTANTLY asks if you want to connect to the car, 9PM or 3 AM. ALSO, you need the physical cable to connect. Brings me to the USB chargers. Question: if a charger does not charge , increase voltage or decrease time to full charge, can you honestly call it a charger. I tried two USB’s one under the dash and inside the arm rest both did not increase voltage level. I DID get the thunder bolt and my phone did say ### until full charge, so it was connect. However, time to charge increased and percent of charge decreased. A charger that does not charge is not a charger. Maybe it is designed to maintain the charge not actually charge the phone. Brings me to a charger that doesn’t charge… Additionally, lane assist is hazardous. There are times which mandates moving to the side. Lane assist will nudge you where you do not want to go. Problem is after an hour of fighting power assist with cruise control on, your arms feels like you had a workout before getting to work. I drive an hour, I am glad to get out of the car. An hour is all I can stand, between the seats and cruise; I can’t wait to get out. I don’t want to get back inside the car. I couldn’t imagine a road trip fighting the steering. Also, driver’s controls on door rest are not ergonomically or comfortably located. When arm is resting in what is a natural position,. The controls are not by the fingers. I have to move my hands, and then feel around for what controls I want to adjust. The black on black and lack of lights at night, makes it harder. I drive early morning, dusk and mid night, controls are black on black. My car has the moon roof. So I have approx. 10 buttons in a 4 inch by 4 inch space, 4 buttons for the same lights, two for driver, and two for passenger to operate the same lights. Two for roof, and SOS buttons. All ten buttons are inside a 4X4 space. The only button I can locate easily is the SOS button. Not to mention the controls are horizontal to the eyes. So you need to bend your head down to check the right buttons. (of course time and experience will help with that I suppose, maybe a month time isn’t enough.?? I don’t know.) I DID like the Auto up\down buttons to raise the window without holding the button, always could to lower but not raise. That is a nice option, because I need to badge into the parking lot, holding my badge, hold the button same time is awkward, possible but awkward.

Run away fast

I leased my car on March 20 of 2020 and this car has been nothing but a disaster since day 1. I first noticed that the welding on the muffler was rusted or appeared to be. Come to find out, it’s just a really crappy welding job. Then I start hearing a gurgling sound from the AC a month later. I Google it and it says that that’s normal for AC’s. Less then a month later I smell something and notice a CRAP TON of mold under the passenger carpet. I bring it in and the service manager spends 5 seconds (yes, only 5 seconds!!) with me. He puts on a glove, touches the carpet and says we won’t cover this, Toyota won’t cover this, call your insurance and then he walked away…………. He walked away because another service tech was screaming at the top of his lungs in anger that he was busy!!! Like how unprofessional do you get? So… I spent the next 16-17 days with no car. Toyota and progressive insurance wouldn’t cover it. Progressive claims Toyota didn’t do their due diligence in proving what the issue was. Toyota refuse to cover it because they claim they know what the issue was and they don’t cover this issue. They claim something crawled into my AC unit and flooded it out. The screwed up part about that is that I live in a city nowhere close to trees and I just bought the damn thing. How can they prove this wasn’t an issue when I bought the car. After waiting over two weeks I came in fuming 😡. It was at that moment they decided to pull the AC apart but lied to me. They gave me a rental car for 24 hours that was disgusting.. It had a ton of trash in the trunk, fresh coffee stains in the cup holder and dried spit marks all over everything. Touch screen, rear view mirror, steering wheel, etc all had dried spit on it. After the 24 hours, they called me and claimed they flushed out the system and found a spiderweb. I called back and said they had to prove it to me. It was at that moment he told me he was going to have a specialist come with a camera called a borescope to send down the drain tube. Wait???? You blew out the line? How are you going to see anything if you knew it out? Yea….. That was the first lie… ::eye roll:: In the end toyota refused to cover the damage and my insurance had to cover it with a $500 deductible. I got the car back after about 33 days or so. No credit was given to me on my car payment or anything. Not even a month after getting my car back, I went outside and my whole right side is melted. It’s like someone took a huge lighter or something to my siding. I bring it to the auto shop and call the police. We all just assumed that it was vandalism and it was fixed. That’s another $500 deductible… I got the car back about a week after that. Not even another month goes by and the siding is melted AGAIN in almost the SAME away!!!! It was so identical that the autobody shop staff were left speechless. I contacted the police, a fire marshal, my insurance and the auto body shop and they all mutually found out that it’s the windows of a building I park near. The company who has those windows won’t even give me the time. They ignore me or just claim that don’t care. Now I’m out another $500 deductible. Mind you, it’s not only been 4-5 months that I’ve owned this car and it’s flooded once and melted twice. Within that time and all the months up till now I’ve had a good 6 or so more issues. The dashboard touch screen keeps going 9/10ths black on me like it’s glitching. I took pictures to prove it. Toyota keeps having to do system updates to fix it. The back speakers barely play any sound and it makes it weird to be in the back seat listening. The tire noise on highways in INSANE. The plastic covering for the speaker on the driver side dashboard is peeling up or warping if you want to call it that. All of this on top of the transmission skipping as well. About 1-2 times a week the car jerks forward about 1-3 times like it’s about to stall out or something. It does this at about 30-40mph and usually when I’m slowing down or in slow moving traffic on the highway. I’ve brought this to the attention of Toyota multiple times and they basically tell me there’s nothing wrong or they can’t find anything. I found the same issue reported by many others and Toyota refuses to listen. I should also note that I’ve brought my car to 3 Toyotas and I called one more Toyota for assistance. All of them have given me attitude or been passive. At no point have I been rude or aggressive. Even when I came in fuming that day I calmed down quick. I’m not an angry person and have always been kind. That’s what makes this whole issue worse. Nobody is willing to help. Even corporate Toyota offers 0 help. You can’t even file a claim for the Better Business Bureau because they don’t do business with them. They force you to contact Toyota corporate so Toyota corporate can basically tell you to go F yourself. Needless to say I will never buy a Toyota again after how I’ve been treated. I understand that things happen in life and that things are not perfect. My issue is the lack of care. They claim all this Toyota reliability but when it isn’t reliable they don’t help. At one moment I wanted to go to the news but because of Covid there wasn’t really any easy access to getting a hold of anybody. This car has been nothing but a nightmare to say the least. The fact that I leased it is making things even harder. Toyota is denying everything and lawyers keep telling me I have no claim on a lemon law because everything happening isn’t affecting drivability. Only the transmission issue can be targeted and I can’t re-create the issue on the spot to prove that it’s happening. Basically I’m stuck with this piece of SHI* till the lease ends. On that day I’m throwing a legitimate party and positing it for all to see. It will be one of the best days of my life and I’ll never go to Toyota again..

I can't seem to get the drivers seat adjusted to be comfortable. I also don't like the fact that the console and door arm rests are cloth instead of vinyl or leather. It's very easy to steer though.

Toyota has weird decontenting patterns. I remember when the LE had plain, plastic, ugly handles. That never set well with customers. Now, the passenger seat has no adjustments, other than moving forward and back for legroom. And this is in every trim level. To hell with passenger comfort. Seriously? An awesome car, for one person. For two, you now need a Camry. Or, hey...go buy a Mazda 3. Great mileage, sporty to drive, and more content. C’mon, Toyota! You should do better. I walked away from the vehicle for this reason.

Original Owner Woman in her 60’s

I am not liking my Toyota Corolla 2020 since the first day. Every day something new doesn’t work. Today light on console doesn’t work. I am the original owner I only drive 10,000 km per year and with covid even less. Very noisy car until it warms up which takes a long time. Auto start key is useless because heater doesn’t come on to help clean snow of front or rear windows. Interior Plastic already damage with long scratch because it’s cheap quality. I am the only driver of this car. I can’t see the interior of the car door after I open the door. I want to push the lock button I can’t see it to select it. Interior lights very poor quality. My key is buried in purse. I don’t use. Seat is too straight up. Relax a little Toyota. I can’t slant it back or it puts me too far away from steering wheel. Manuel is too big. Too much info. First car I’ve own that I can’t read the fill manual. Manual needs to be more user friendly. Connection from iPhone to car hardly ever works. Sometime this items works sometimes not. I live in a major city. There is no problem with my iPhone service. Google maps display is terrible. I want to see on the map where I am going to not just where I am at. Street names only appear when I am on them. Again I want to see where I’m going ahead of time. Looking at iPhone while driving is not any good either because I only get written directions. I want to see map. So much frustration with this car. I can’t wait to get rid of it. Don’t buy it! That’s all I can say!

Just turned in my Corolla sport for the Corolla LE. I’m very unhappy. Side driver’s mirror is wavy and distorted and very difficult to see when driving and changing lanes. There is also a blind spot in between the front driver’s side and rear driver’s side windows, it is very dangerous. Many new controls, perhaps too many, and my sales person was very abrupt with me. Have had other Corollas before with no issue but I’m not happy with this.

This car is a [non-permissible content removed]. It’s only useful for the MPG. It’s features are completely half assed and consistently malfunction. Features that are completely unnecessary in the first place. Like recognizing speed limit signs and notifying you on the front console. It’s wrong 95% of the time. It’s infotainment system is absolute trash. It ONLY has apple car play and it hardly works properly. Seats are uncomfortable and the car has one of the lowest amounts of space when comparing it to similar vehicles. I guess you can also call the lack of having to press down on the button to switch into neutral a feature as well. There is so little resistance that you can use a piece of uncooked spaghetti to shift into neutral without it breaking. I wouldn’t be surprised if the momentum of photons from a flashlight is strong enough for it to shift gears.

I purchased a used Corolla that only had 12.7k miles on it about a month ago and so far, it's been great. I'm a delivery driver so I've already put over 1k miles on it and I've had zero issues with it so far. The CVT definitely is a little slow if you're someone who needs to accelerate quickly in a short amount of time frequently like myself, but most of the time I try to drive like a normal person to be safe and get decent fuel economy so it hasn't been much of a bother. My only real complaint is the speaker setup. They got rid of the big speakers in the very back of the car and just have little baby speakers on the rear doors in the back that make up about 5% of the sound you get when playing audio. Most of the audio is in the front of the car which can suck if you have frequent passengers in the back or just like that all around sound. The other small issue I have is the fact that their infotainment system STILL doesn't support Android Auto! For a 2020 car, that is ridiculous. I've managed to work around it by just buying a magnetic phone mount so I can use Google Maps on my phone instead of the infotainment system but that was pretty lame of Toyota to not have something like that. Other than those two minor issues though, mechanically, the car has gotten me from A to B every time with no issue. It drives pretty smoothly, it gets great fuel economy, and the safety features come in handy for someone who does a lot of city driving during traffic hours when people are really impatient and dumb. Hoping to make an update in a few months to see if it's still holding up after some more time. Update: Still zero issues with the car. Loving the fuel economy and the reliability! Update: Still no issues mechanical issues with the car. Just a tiny bit of squeaking from the driver door occasionally when the bass from my music hits but that's not a big deal at all. Turns on every time and gets good gas still!

SCAM CAR!!! 😡

This car pulls you in because of looks, however looks is all you get. This car is made with cheap junk materials. Can be scratched, stained and just wore out looking in less than 6 months on the inside. The car paint must be the bottom of the barrel it is super pretty but can scrape off within a second not with much effort from anything or by anyone. After 20 to 30 minutes sitting in it you feel your back or leg bothering you. Never mind going to the Doctor to see if you have a issue with your body., this car will discover it for you. I had many back seat passengers complaints about 3 things over and over they are 1. They hit there head going in and out of the car. 2. They said the air conditioning is not cool enough for the back or even where one side is cooler than the other. 3. They said the seatbelt noise goes off in the back if no body is in the seat and is extra loud. Also the seatbelt noise comes on to soon and fast even if you are slowly rolling in the neighborhood only to your neighbors driveway. The cars cruise control is terrible., Once you turn on the cruise get ready to struggle. This is when your frustration starts, be prepared to fight the steering wheel the whole time, and if another car comes in front of you and appears to be “ close “ in sight ( but is not that close ) than the Toyota Corolla will suddenly break very hard to where your body will move! And you think wow that was unnecessary and dangerous. Then these 4 flaps on the steering wheel that if pressed on a accident will change your gears from drive to neutral while driving ( real dangerous ). The gas mileage is not what you think it empties fast for that kind of car and reputation is very surprising. Than how it drives is not like a 2020 new car neither for a supposed “ Toyota Corolla “ . Within 6 months the car has already felt like close to stalling just from accelerating from a traffic light intersection. In my new car I shouldn’t be hearing or recognizing the idling noise, but at times off and off I would hear it idle ruff and hard than at times Quit. Than a high sounding noise would be heard on the outside of my car when I switched it from park to reverse. I will ask anyone this question. Would anyone have this much wrong with a brand new 2020 Toyota Corolla, I think NOT

2.0 corolla it’s really nice. It’s typical toyota that I loved. New looks are really really nice. I loved it. Only thing I don’t like are first the inside. It’s so minimalist, you only get 1 usb and 1 dc plug. That’s it. Center console is really small. No room for your things. Windshield is cheap. They removed the transmission dipstick so they can take more of your money. Overall it’s okay. PS - Canadian version and US version are different. Canadian version sucks. It does NOT come with auto start, remote connect, tmps, sign detection safety sense and etc. Which is standard in US version.

This car is complete and utter trash. I bought the car because I’ve heard Toyota’s last forever and have very little problems. Well I was misinformed I’ve had my Corolla for a little over a year and in that year it’s been in the shop 5 times. Now mind you I’m the original owner and I take very good care of my vehicles. I can tell you one thing I will be getting rid of it within the next couple months. Also it’s the most good uncomfortable vehicle I’ve ever ridden in.

Would not recommend at all. If you know anything about cars you could tell it’s all plastic, the CVT transmission can easily slip and blow up, and they used the cheapest materials. My carpet is already falling apart and I’ve had this car 9 months. It’s really loud for no reason. It’s really not worth $30,000 and doesn’t even have things you would expect a 2020 car to have.

When driving at night, the instrument clusters are no where to be found. Actually the interior light switch is hard to find. Another consumer stated this as well. black on black. The window switches are not illuminated. You have to fumble around to locate the switches, even the driver window switches. black on black. the glove compartment does not have a light. the passenger side door and the trunk does not have a key hole. On a good day you will get over 40 mph. Drivers seat is comfortable. good steering wheel grip. It would have been good to have the side view mirrors to have the passing lights on them with this model with all of the other safety features.

In Nov 2021 I bought a 2020 Toyota Corolla LE and because of the pandemic, a huge cut on new cars being manufactured which jacked up the price of used. So I payed quite a bit for it and it had only 58,000 miles on it . My 2011 Corolla was totaled in an accident so I splurged and bought this one. What a joke! Terrible gas mileage!! I am talking about 17 miles to the gallon in the winter and the summer. I have taken it in twice and there is apparently nothing wrong. Then I got the lecture twice on cold weather, warming the engine up, idling for awhile, air conditioning will all impact gas mileage. My 2011 got way better gas mileage in all of those situations and when the weather was good even with the air conditioning got over 30 mph city and 35-40 highway with a smaller tank and had 176, 000 miles on it. Now the running lights are not turning on when the car starts but does when I put it into gear then when I park and turn off the engine, the lights go off instantly. Also my drivers side low beam was out when I pulled up to a business that I could see my headlights from the windows. Then it worked again on my way home. Sometimes the car won’t start as if the alarm had been activated. The first time it happened, I drained the battery. The other two times, I would wait five to ten minutes, try again repeatedly until it starts like nothing was ever wrong. If the car has been parked for over 6 hours the battery is sluggish starting the car. Had the battery checked. No problems there so something somewhere is drawing power from the battery. I believe now that my car has some serious electrical problems because Toyotas with low gas mileage don’t do this! Toyotas over 100,000 don’t behave this way either.

All cars are over priced and this one is not any different. I paid cash, $19,000.00 out the door. I'll leave it to you guys to determine if that was a good deal or bad deal. Condition: New car, 5 miles on odometer at purchase. Steel wheels, with cheap hubcaps, disk brakes. NAVIGATION not included. Included items: Car play, cloth two tone manual seats, audio display screen, blue tooth, spare tire with cheap jack, collision avoidance, lane avoidance, over complicated cruise control, electronic parking brake, disk brakes, power windows. In 36 years of driving, this will be car #4. If this is a good car, time will tell. In my humble opinion, even if the 2020 LE sedan turns out to be a great car, they are still over priced. The Single star is not indicative of this vehicle rating being good, or bad. Unfortunately, highlighting that component was necessary to send review.

After the car was about 6 months old I noticed that going down hills the transmission will Rev up to almost 3000 rpm's with my foot not on the gas at all,I haven't had a chance to film it because it is not always happening but the car is at 55000km and probably off warranty, also the Toyota dealer where my elderly father purchased it brand new has been ripping him off for oil changes saying that only they can do them, I have been working on vehicles for over 30 years, lol, I personally would never buy a Toyota, Honda is a lot better car .

Well I have to say for a first time car owner and driver I think I did good for the price, quality the style. the look the color the efficiency with modern specs did it. Great sale team. I just didn't realize that the list price is almost double when you buy it so be prepared. It was my first pick and my only one. I hope it lasts a long time and it's practical for our first time driver.

Small, easy to drive, can fit 5 people in it, large trunk area. All cars should be equips with blind spot safety features, this does not have it. Also the cars built after 2000 should have electric buttons to position the seats, sometimes the crank to pull up doesn’t work to well.

Entune will not upgrade. Brought it to dealer to reset, the screen to upgrade entune came back after a week. It will always be there. Was told it had android auto, it does not. Now the microphone doesn't work. It's an entune problem not one deals hip has been able to do anything. I had a 07 corolla, actually still have it. That was so much better with less technology and less problems.

Handles good in the snow on the highway and in my daily travels very good car now I can see why a Toyota Corolla are the most sold car in the world. Good job Toyota keep it up.

i got a rental got this 20 corolla and thought cool something new to drive. got in the seat is very small i feel like my shoulders touch the side of the car while im driving to much. the lack of storage is a huge let down. if you drink a lot of water and have a 32 oz cup or bottle you cant get to the center console if you have it in the cupholder also my arm doesnt really rest well on the center which is a bummer for me. also you cant really have your arm on the window ledge because the door is really high. the mirror switches are difficult to adjust on the fly as they are behind the handle on the door. the entertainment crap in the middle is way to big for my liking and to in the veiw of the windshield. the steering wheel cluster seems backwards to me like the audio stuff should be on one side and the call and cruse on the other instend they are on both sides under all the other cluster of buttons. you cant see the hood while driving which bothers me. design wise i like it alot i think the car looks great in and out aside from the entertainment cluster. seats are super basic in the se so no electric seat bummer being a 2020. the car is a turd when it comes to accelerating sooooo sloooooww has a major lag trying to go. it does handle decent still feels clunky to me. the lane deparcher steering help i will pass on keep it off makes it feel like you have steering issues all in all not a bad car for commuting to work and back. but if you like a comfortable accessable ride probably not the car for you.

I got my Toyota Corolla 2020 with only 8 miles on it. When test driving it I told the dealership that I didn’t like it because it sounded like the windows windows were always open it was so loud. I told them I couldn’t afford anything above $350 a month they told me to take it and test drive it for the weekend and they sold me the car. I didn’t know I had purchased the car and that my payments were $555 a month for a car that I could not stand. I had issues with I would think the brain since day one I have to stop and start and stop and start my car over and over again just to get the screen to work the navigation to work my phone iPhone will not work inside the car they’re not compatible or something. You cannot talk over the speakers and use the phone oh and the speakers because nobody can hear a word you’re saying because it sounds like the windows are down and up. I’ve gone to Toyotta five different places asking for help and telling them what it does and taking pictures because my screen was like totally black out but you can see that the map is behind there and unless you turn the car off and on like five times it doesn’t work but they won’t help me they say that it has to do it while it’s in the shop is the only way they can help me but I can’t tell my car when or when not to work. So now it’s been two years in my car. You hear how Toyotta has the best customer service around and it’s absolutely the worst no one ever went out of the way to try and help me no matter how many times I called and asked for help in any aspect. Now I’m stuck with a car that I can’t stand and it’s loud you can’t even carry a conversation on in the car and when you when it rains the inside of the car gets wet. And they said that’s normal that’s not normal and where is all this good customer service and I’ve heard other people say All the same things I’m saying and where’s the customer service that’s supposed to help me there isn’t any they won’t listen to you

I rented the le and I was surprised how poorly this ride rode.Very noisy loud and uncomfortable.Very poor driving position and poor controls. The only good points are good gas mileage, good handling and decent pickup.Backup camera has poor visibility and terrible radio. There are far better choices such as Hyundai and Honda and Mazda.
