My New Car
When we bought this car I thought it was going to be to boring. Another Toyota well not to put them down but, they can be boring. We had a Camry before and the only fun part was the V6, and now we were loosing that. Oh well I was wrong. This car is much more fun than the Camry. Easy to park, spunky, fast for a 4 cylinder. Got all the features on this baby its loaded, and I stayed under $18,000. Talk about the gas milage were getting between 36- 38 mpg on the highway. My Camry was lucky to get 23-24. I love this car and its better looking all around.
Good but Not Great
Overall it is a great car. Fun to drive, a lot of pep for a car this size (without A/C, and only driver). Good design, holds up well. Got the car Feb 2005 - and it has 90,000 miles on it Sept 2008. No Major complaints, would recommend to anyone. Had to get the ECU changed within the first couple of months because it was hard to start. The tires wore extremely bad on edge even after Toyota Dealership aligned them Only 16K on 60K tires. Got them aligned recently and it has been much better. Passenger window rattles at any speed. Also the idle/tensioner pulley makes ticking noises and has been replaced 5 times, yes five times. Without the extended warranty I'm sure this would probably be costly.
All good at first
Me and my car have a love hate relationship. I love the design and the way it drives. It is very easy to get around in. I bought my car in 06 it had 10,000 miles on it but looked brand new, In June of 08 the fuel pump went out (new fuel pump cost 798.00), May of 09 cylinder coil went out replaced and it still isn't running right. They just don't make Toyota like they use to.
my xrs
This is my 3rd Toyota Corolla. I had the 2003 s series before I got my 2005 XRS. When I first drove my car off the lot and hit the freeway it made me scream. The power and speed were amazing. I love the race car bucket seats and the chrome trimming. However, the beep beep noise that the car makes when it is in reverse or when you don't put your seatbelt on fast enough are a pain in the "you know where." Overall the driving experience has been a pleasurable one.
Excellent Review
A very fun and gas-efficient easy to maneuver and most attractive car that can also accomodate a family with lots of trunk space and ability to transport when needed larger longer items in the trunk by taking the backseat down! This has become very handy with a small business and a trip to the local home store!!! I have gotten many comments on how attractive this 2005 model is from friends and family!
