Major problems with my car

Added on the 100,000 mi warranty and expected for features that had gone out to be fixed - not so. Had air conditioner problems from the time of purchase, has been worked on several times. I have learned to tap a box underneath the glovebox to get the air conditioner started at times. Power locks started going out at 40,000 mi. Eventually they all went out after the warranty expired and now I can't manually lock my doors on the driver's side. To get the power locks fixed will cost $2000-3000. Have replaced Toyota hub caps several times for about $80 dollars a piece. Plugged in a bottle warmer into the cigarette lighter, radio, dashboard features, and cigarette lighter fuse blew out.

A Lot For The Money

We love this car. Zero defects upon delivery. Great gas mileage. It's very quiet and rides extremely well for a vehicle in this class. Has a very roomy interior, even for larger people. Smooth 5 spd gearbox makes it easy and fun to drive. Not bothered as much by wind as some others commented. Also, absolutely no sign of rotten egg smell. Overall, a winner!

the best choice you can make

I was very careful in making this purchase and thank god edmunds was there to help. I owned a ford (fixed or repaired daily) 00' focus before this and it is a motorcycle compared to this car. The dealer was fair in the price and what can i say, when you shut the door, it's a quiet, comfortable ride with a zoom zoom that beat out the noisy mazda's i test drove. And on top of that it also beats the small honda civic by far for it's class. Buy it, the money is well worth it and the car will give you the peace of mind your looking for. Well built, nice body style with the ground effects and fog lights, and you get what you pay for.

I have had every type of car you can think of and have been trying to find a new car to replace my wife's Grand Am. We drove the Civic, Focus, Matrix,Protege,Sentra, and the corolla the Focus and the Protege were the only ones that held the road. The corola we drove buzzed terribly, rattles, the build quality was not there at all! On the highway at high speeds (75) was a very nervous feeling. I had a Camry in 93, when they carred about build quality, what happened Toyota. I think they only care about the Lexus line!

Great Car

I agree with Pete Novack, It does look like the IS 300 from some angles. The car handles well. One thing I did notice is wobbling going down the interstate. I looked at the trees, but they werent swaying at all to the wind. I guess that's aerodynamics, but I'm not sure. Overall this car is fantastic, and I've got a lot of compliments on it saying "That doesnt even look like a corolla". It's true it doesnt, but it does have the reliability the Corollas have always had.
