Used 2019 Toyota Camry Sedan Consumer Reviews
Redesign needs rethinking
Has visibility issues. Headlights are too small for night driving. Rear window is blocked by high headrest. Heatng strips in rear window do not defrost full window because upper space is used for radio antenna. Visor extender on driver side is blocked by roof design. To use it you must pull it over the rear view. Mirror. Seats are too low and headroom is less than older design. Driver seat feels confining. Car frame by doors recedes and so rain and snow wet the seat when doors are opened. Trunk is wide but not as deep as previous version. Most suitcases would have to be laid sidewise rather than stand up. Overall very disappointing. Based on test drive.

Leather interior problems
I’ve had my 2018 Camry for exactly 1 year and noticed a large white spot on the back of the passenger seat and later 2 more smaller spots on the bench seat. Called the dealership had it inspected and made a claim. The dealership never called me back after a month I finally called and was told my claim was denied. That the “photos” showed that it appeared I had put a chemical on the material. Which I have only ever used water and a wash cloth to clean my interior.

Beautiful car, but horrible quality
I fell for the 2018 Camry XSE two tone pearl white and black. It's a beautiful car and I get lots of complements on its looks. BUT, I have a few issues. The transmission shifts sluggish even when the car is in "sport" mode. The rotors squeal, and the dealership said it's common with no fix available. They call it surface rust. Imagine how embarrassing it is to drive a brand new car with squeaky breaks!! My biggest complaint is the quality of the interior. I started noticing the "leather" interior is peeling and wrinkling in a few spots beginning under 3,000 miles. Toyota wants to blame me and they will not warranty their sub-par material. A maintenance worker at my dealership says he sees the same damage very often and sometimes even worse. He says they fall apart so badly that the foam cushioning is exposed. Another complaint is the Entune app and the Scout GPS. Both rely on the owner having a smartphone with enough storage to download 2 extra apps. And they are both useless once downloaded. Entune pops up an error message on my entertainment screen every time I start the car. Very annoying!! I will not be buying another Toyota.

Disapointed
Did not live up to reviews. Poor ride on rough pavement, excessive noise and terrible handling on curves. Ok in city driving.

Trans hesitation fixed
Visited my local dealer in Milton Ontario with the US TSB number. Why it doesn't cross reference to Canadian domiciled cars is beyond my imagination. Anyway the service rep did some searching and found something that described the hesitation problem perfectly. It took about 1 1/2 hours for the reflash and the effect was very obvious when I drove the car off the lot when I picked it up. Granted, I have not put many K on the car but the difference is significant .Hopefully this is a permanent fix and time will tell. To my mind Toyota has come up with a fix for this issue. If in Canada ask for TCI 5277 If this fix stays then I will say I love the car.
