Used 2019 Toyota Camry Sedan Consumer Reviews
Uneven shifting with response lag.
Have experienced what I call "uneven shifting in my 2019 Camry LE 4 cylinder. Step on gas shifts to 4th gear then will down shift to 3rd rev up and shift to 4th and 5th. If I go into traffic and need to accelerate I step on gas and there is no immediate responce and the car bogs down then after second responds. Had this car to dealer with about 320 miles on it. We test drove with Tech driving. He pulls into highway traffic with gas pedal engage to may be 1\2 way and car seemed to shift without hesitation. Too bad that wasn't the only situation encountered. I said driving in residential setting is Mich different. Told me working "as designed". 2018 had same issue and fix was a relash of the ECU.Toyota published a SB to have dealers fix for the above issue with reported success.
2019 camry
This is my 4th Camry and this is by far the loudest engine . It takes a long time to pick up to speed.

Great car with one shortcoming
Great car, great value, the safety technology that comes standard is amazing. Fairly comfortable and handles great. One shortcoming would be the HVAC and defrost system. It is really difficult to warm the car up in New England winter temps. It was actually blowing cold air out the other day when I was driving. I turned the fan down and the air heated up but wasn’t blowing heard enough to heat the cabin. Granted it was about 5 below zero that morning but you figure heat is much easier to produce then A.C. haven’t had a chance to test A.C. yet but the blower fan in general is underpowered. In addition, only 3/4 of the rear window defrosts. I thought I had a blown fuse or something because there are heating elements throughout the window. Come to find out the top 1/4 to 1/3 is actually a radio antenna. This is my 4th Camry and 7th Toyota. Don’t get me wrong, I love it and the price point but would have paid a little extra for properly powered HVAC system.

Smooth operator
I wasn’t sold on the exterior of the new design at first. The front end was not very appealing with the huge black grill but it has grown on me. I now love the looks of this car. The ride is smooth and handling is tight. The acceleration lacks a little especially if you don’t come to a complete stop and only slow down before speeding back up. I like that the controls are all within reach without having to struggle to get to controls. I do not like the Entune at all and choose to use CarPlay with my iPhone. All in all I have enjoyed my new car for the first week I’ve had it.

Loving my Camry!
Traded in my 2012 Maxima for a brand new 2019 Camry XSE, white with red leather. The car is absolutely gorgeous. I never thought a Camry would turn people’s heads, which it does particularly well when the windows are down and the red seats are visible. It is loaded with safety tech, but sometimes I think it intentionally tries to kill you. The automatic braking is way too sensitive, even on its lowest setting. I drove down a grade at a redlight and the car thought the ground was a stopped car, so it slammed on the brakes for me in the middle of an intersection. It has saved me once so far, though, so I can accept a fault here and there. The adaptive cruise control is great, although I think it tries to speed up too quickly and ruins your fuel mileage. If it is set on 75 and you get behind a car doing 55, as soon as the car moves, the Camry floors it. That leads me to my biggest complaint, gas mileage. While it isn’t terrible, I drive 65 miles on the highway everyday for work. 4 miles or less in the city after that. I’m only averaging 31MPG. I should be getting 40MPG on the highway, so I am a little disappointed. I thought after putting some miles on her, it would get better but it has not. Overall it’s a great, safe and reliable car.
