Used 1992 Toyota Camry Consumer Reviews
Great Car
Extremely reliable. Change the oil and maintain it well, and you will get 200,000 miles out of it. Very easy to drive, easy to use dashboard controls. Well engineered. This is the kind of car you keep in the family for 15 years or more. Great car for a college student.
253000 miles
Bought the car new,it is a 4 cyl. Changed the oil every 3000 miles, timing belt every 100k and usual maintenance items. Still has the original engine, trans, etc. Has always been reliable, passed this to my son. Wife has a 96 with 110k, again no problems. Recently bought a 2000, hope to get 200k+ miles from this one.

Best car I ever owned.
Bought it used in 2002 with 85K miles for $5500. In 2007 the automatic trans failed, suspect teenage son was the cause. Installed Shreve rebuilt transmission. 2014 A/c compressor went out and was replaced. In 2015 at 279K started using coolant due to leaking head gasket. Rebuilt engine with new gaskets, rings, t belt and tuned up. Today it has 313K on it and I drive it daily. It’s going to be missed when it finally dies and will only get rid of it when it does. Probably will last much longer and expect it’ll be hit by an inattentive kid while they’re texting. 😢

A Reliable, No Frills, No Nonsense car
If you're just looking for an oldie but goody, no frills, point a to point B, this is a great car. Very reliable, 25 to 30 combined miles per gallon, nice comfortable and quiet ride. Not luxurious or sporty, but starts every time and runs great. The only bad points for me are fuel economy...with a small four I would expect better, and also power is a little iffy on hills and from a start, it's still very zippy and since most other non-turbo 4-cylinders are similar, I can't fault it. The Transmission is fairly solid but will bog down on hills, otherwise a smooth shift. Fairly comfortable as I slept in it one night with the seat down. Only bad thing is I have replaced two A/C systems.
200,000 mile+ keep going and going
I purchased my brand new Camry in 1992. Now it has 200K mi on it and still running great. No major problem at all, just normal wear and tear (tires, tune-up...). Mine is a V6 model: very strong engine, good gas mileage. I installed a tow hitch in the back and tow a uhual box. I can move my 2 bdrm apartment without spenting lots of $$. I've seen bad condition Camry before, those are the one that got rebuilded from accident car that's why quality is so bad. So if anyone is looking for a good car, avoid those accident car (salvaged title car)
