Love It!
I have owned a multitude of 4x4's over the years, but overall find my XL-7 one of the very best values. It may not be the fastest, most off-road worthy, get the best gas mileage, or draw the most looks but it has never let me down, even during -15 degree Colorado winters. You won't go wrong, but keep in mind it is not a $50k vehicle, so don't expect one.
Love my SUV
I have had my XL-7 for 3 months and I still love it. When I was first shown one I had no knowledge of it. I drove it and liked it, but the dealership was asking too much. So I found another one online, LOVED the color, test drove it in the snow and I had to have it. I drive about 40 miles roundtrip to work each day and the gas isn't as bad as I had expected. It is very roomy inside and accommodates my 6'5" fiancee. I would definitly reccommend it to anyone.

A Very Reliable Vehicle
We have 40,000 miles on this car and not one problem has occured. This is the most reliable car that I have ever owned. We completed an 8,500 mile trip and found it to be a comfortable ride. The Denver Suzuki/Isuzu Dealer was easy to deal with and we got a good deal.
Great SUV for the Money
Great vehicle for the money. I've owned my XL-7 for one year and have put 20,000 miles on it. No complaints and haven't had any problems. Comfortable car on the road and great off road capabilities as well. The V-6 is small but adequate.
So far so good!
I have owned my XL-7 for 2 months and still am very much in love with it. It is fun to drive, good in turns and after switching to synthetic oil, have been getting 25 mpg on the freeway.
Versitlile Car
this is a dependeble and versitile car the seats hurt your back if you do not get the leather option. But overall, solid transpoetation and a great value
OK for the money.
Good SUV for the money. Liked 3rd seat compared to cost of other SUV's. But have had problems with seal at waterpump, dealer fixed twice. Lousy MPG - no better than 15-16 mpg. And terrible defroster !! And crummy tires. Dunlops, just about bald at 20K.
Seven Seater SUV
This car is a great all purpose car. 4WD for offroad and the snow, while seating up to 7 9albeit a coupel of kids in the back). Fuel economy for this size car is great but dont compare to a midsize car. It drives well and the standard features are fantastic. Compare it to other SUVs in this size and you will be amazed at the value.
Great SUV for the price & safe!
I searched for months to find an SUV with high safety ratings, comes with many options and a low price. This was it! I compared this SUV with the Toyota RAV-4, Jeep Liberty, & Ford Escape to find this was the best deal and a safe vehicle, unlike some of the above. I have not been dissappointed yet! I love this SUV. It's exactly what I wanted and expected.
A Very Fun-tional Vehicle
This SUV is an excellent, exciting alternative to a minivan for morning carpool, especially with elementary schoolers. Second-graders are able to work the 7-passenger seating mechanisms fine, and fight over doing so! Seating is exceptionally comfortable for 4 adults, and it works fine for 5-child transport... all behind the front row. So far I've enjoyed this vehicle as much as or more than as any that I've owned, including several Toyotas, a BMW, a Nissan, an Isuzu, Chevys, a couple of Fords and our current Honda Odessey.
on to alaska
traded a chev astro van for this one because i wanted a 4x4 for my trip to alaska.- read more reviews than i can remember, but this car is true to them.- for now have been using it on the back roads of Baja Calif and no complaints.- Expect the gas milage to improve as the engine settles down.- my two fulled sized dogs ( boxers) love it.- the trunk holds all my camping gear and with the side opening door it's easy to get to.- What I really like is its is not rounded like the other midsize suvs.- its lines are straight and sleek and it doesn't look oversized.-
Exceeding Happy
We bought this vehicle for the express purpose of using it to tour the U.S. (and be able to go anyway) when we retired, and knowing the third seat will be down 99% of the time. Have had the vehicle 18 months now, with only required maintenance done on it and regularly get 20-21 mpg. This is one vehicle I have no problem recommeding to others.
Great City Runner
The truck is narrow, agile handling, quick off the line making it great for tight spots in crowded places, yet long enough to give plenty of inside room. Not suitable as a long distance cruiser. Seats are too small for long drives, wind noise high at speeds over 65. Fuel tank range limited to 300 miles per fillup.
Nice SUV
only 5,000 miles, so far so go.
Better than expected
Cheapest 7 seater SUV you can buy. It is actually a lot better than in most reviews. 3rd row seat is a bit tight but you can move the 2nd row seat forward while 2nd row being not too crammed. OK ride comfort but a little bumpy. Braking even with ABS could be improved (when compared with a sedan). I highly recommend the 2002 Touring model which comes with almost everything but alarm. Get the rear cargo net option. If you don't like SUVs but need an inexpensive 4WD wagon that seats 7, get this.
Great Value and Seven Passengers
Three rows, value pricing, good acceleration, 4 wheel drive, leather seats . . We're very happy with the purchase thus far.
A Bargain SUV!
It's a delight to drive. Takes curves and turns crisply with no front end plowing. Power train excellent with added horsepower. Gas mileage advertised at 18-20 mpg, but at less than 1,000 miles on the odometer we've been averaging 22 mpg driving city and mountain Haleakala National Park). The 3rd row passenger seating was one of the selling points and though a bit tight, it's handy in a pinch (no pun intended) for carrying our visiting friends on Maui. We like the keyless entry where on click opens only the driver's door and two clicks, all other doors. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase.
If you must have 7 seats
I've test drove the base model and the ride was much softer than the touring model which I've purchsed. It's not the most comfortable vehicle, but it does seat seven reasonably. If you want 7 seating and have 7 full sized adults, don't even think about this car. If you have 2 or more small children and 2 adults then consider this vehicle. If you can afford Acura MDX, I say go for that. I understand it rides much better.
A terrific SUV at a bargain price
A good looking, reliable, inexpensive, fun-to-drive SUV (with the 5 speed).
Best SUV under $30,000
The high-performance engine. Good location for the filter. 2 timing chains. Smooth, quiet, and comfortable on driving.
Great Car!
I love my XL-7. I got it after I needed to use my aunt's XL-7 and loved it. It has plenty of room for myself and children. I recently took it on a road trip and it did wonderful. This truck is a keeper until it's time to trade it in and even then It'll be for another XL- 7.
