Used 1995 Subaru Legacy Sedan Consumer Reviews
300,000 miles and still going
Well it hit 300,000 miles this year. I converted it to Mobil one full synthetic extended mileage oil from day one. Auto transmission stopped backing up at 250,000 replaced with junk yard transmission which has a strange noise in it, but has held together for the last 80,000 miles. These cars are indestructible. They just rust away. Side note, I drove a 1988 to 480,000 miles, finally rusted in two and couldn't get it through a wv state inspection, or I would still be driving it the 2.2 L engines are the gest Subaru ever made. Best car I have ever owned
I bought this car from a family in December 2022 with 164k and it needed a lot of work due to differed maintenance. Once I got all of that done, I have been able to drive him from Ohio to Virginia and back multiple times, to Michigan, to Maryland from Ohio multiple times, several day trips to Canton and Columbus, Ohio and all the way to Champagne, IL. I trust this car to drive me anywhere, he gets great gas mileage (about 28 on the highway), and is very easy to work on. The AWD system is excellent in Ohio winters and many parts are interchangeable with the 2002-2007 WRX and other Subarus of the early 2000s. I am at 184k right now and plan on keeping him on the road as long as I can!

Darn great car - Original owner
My Subaru LSi has 200,000 miles on it and I have had no trouble to speak of at all. I have had regular oil, transmission, and gearbox fluid maintenance. The only parts that have been replaced is the starter (very easy to get at) and the alternator (replaced free by dealer due to recall-original worked fine). I have had 5 other second cars in the same timeframe and none compared to overall satisfaction. It's the little car that could and DID!!
Pretty good for the miles
My car has almost 170K miles on it and still runs like a champ. It handles like a sports car. The All Wheel Drive is unmatched, this car STICKS to the snowy/icy Tahoe roads, it doesn't slide, even if you try. There were a few issues over the years, like a bad oil leak, broken axel, and bearing problems, but considering the wear and tear that a car with this many miles gets, not to mention the horible road conditions (pot holes) in Tahoe, it has done pretty well. I will continue to buy Subarus.
Subaru 1995 legacy
I bought this car for 2400 bucks and about 3 years later it is still chugging. I have had to install some things. I have to change the O2 sensor and speed sensor. I also had one CV joint replaced. All in all a good car and this is the second Legacy I have owned. I couldn't complain b/c I got my money's worth.
