2025 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews

Don’t buy if you enjoy your heated seats working
There is a widespread issue with many owners reporting faulty heated seats. Mine operate inconsistently - when they do get warm, despite being on high it’s less warm than the lowest setting on my previous car / any other car I’ve been in. No fix from Subaru so far and they suggest the seats are operating as intended. Have also been told they should get warmer when it is colder outside - also untrue. It was 48° the other day in the mountains and when set on high, even after 20 minutes there was ZERO heat coming from the heated seats. Extremely disappointing. I love this car otherwise, but seat warmers were an expensive upgrade and very important feature to me in a car. I was excited to own a Subaru, but this is changing my opinion of the company very quickly in a negative way.

Move to Forester 25
Drives well, looks great, a little noisier than the Outback and I don't love the seats. They hit the back of my mid-thigh, not by the knees, like a chair.

2025 Forester Touring is a DUD!
I loved my 2000 and my 2022, and the preview comments about 2025 driver assistance upgrades sounded wonderful, so I immediately bought my Touring without even looking at it: A BIG MISTAKE. Here is a sample of poorly designed functions ... I'll start with driver assistance rear alerts for cars or people moving behind you because they come MUCH TOO LATE. In 2022, alerts came WELL BEFORE the car or people entered your rear camera view. In 2025 alerts come AFTER the car or person is already well into your camera view which means you may hit them. Also alerts for cars in your side blind spot as you drive ARE ONLY SILENT. ONLY a small light flashes, which you won't see unless you are looking sideways! They REDUCED ALL THE IMPORTANT CAMERA VIEWS to tiny hard to see views to display useless status info for static functions and the large screen has so much glare you can't read it. Now on to a few convenience features ... there is no way to link your Touring to your garage door other than clipping your old fashioner clicker to your sun visor because they put in an extra rear camera view and took out the HomeLink connection. And the wireless charger only works if you take your protective cushion cover off your iPhone. And you can't get more than 25 mpg unless you buy a major brand of gas such as Exxon or Sunoco but those stations are hard to find. I send one complaint to Subaru already but its been a month and they haven't answered. Don't buy the 2025 Forester Touring, and check the other models carefully to find out if they work,

Pleased
I love my new Subaru Forester. Lots of new features but easy to drive even for someone who hasn't had all the upgrades before. I love the river rock color, I like sitting up a bit higher. it is roomy but doesn't feel huge, the display panel is beautiful.
