I had planned on getting a 4Runner until gas hit $4 a gallon. I decided to downsize but wanted something I thought would be good in snow and occasional rough dirt roads. I have been getting 21-22 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg highway so far! Better that I had hoped. I think I made the right choice.

After owning Lexus, Audi and Acura models in the past, I decided that paying for panache was no longer worth it. I wanted an SUV with good MPG and an excellent AWD system. After reading about the 2009 Forrester and the awards it has earned, the decision was easy. I got the fully loaded vehicle three days before 8 inches of snow fell, and driving in the snow was like driving on dry ground. The AWD system is as good as Audi's Quattro which to me in the gold standard. The Forrester is very comfortable and there's plenty of room for 5. As a music lover, I disliked the SUV's stereo speakers so much that I had them replaced even before pick up. So far, I'm very happy with it.

Vehicle is only one week old, not sure how many miles will be put on during the first year's travel. I am 6'8" had to wait for the 09 to get extra height. Love the head room even with the moonroof feature. It's mainly my wife's car. See all of you on the road.

Just bought my second Forester by trading in my '04 gem. She had close to 100,000 miles on her already and had never had one simple thing go wrong with her. Hated to part with her but love my new forester even more. Didn't think that would be possible. Also, didn't think I would get as good of gas mileage as I have so far. Avg. 25mpg both city and highway and it is nowwhere near broken in. Extra room is awesome. Ride is awesome. Would recommend one to anybody.

After driving 2 CRV'S (98 & 03) fo 10yrs. I was waiting for the Honda Element redesign, it looks like 2009 isn't the year. So I checked out the Scion XB not impressed. I saw one of these on the road and their TV commerical. Decided to check it out. Took a test drive and was sold. What a difference from driving CRV's. I had forgotten how much fun driving could be. My first AWD all I can say is wow
