When I Look At My Car I Am Happy

2003 Saturn ION 3 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 5A)

For the price and features included with this car, I am very happy. The car is attractive inside & out. I liked the novelty of the centered dashboard, and it did not take long to adjust to. The ride and comfort of the car is satisfactory plus--considering that I did not pay a Cadillac price. Overall performance is good. The Ion 3 included all the features I wanted without going outside my price range. Driving the car this winter, the lower left heating vent did not seem to heat as fast as the rest of the vents in the car. Maybe it's just me or something I need to check.

Hate it! Never again, Saturn!

My 03 Ion2 is the 7th Saturn I have owned and will never purchase another because of it. I had the tires and brake rotors replaced at less than 25K miles, and again now, at 56K miles. I had the running lamps fixed (recall) more than once. There is a thumping noise when I turn left at slow speeds, the road noise is loud, shifting hesitates at 3rd-4th (w/ auto trans) and it sucks down oil. 18 months ago the radio stopped working; Saturn said it was defective and for $300 they'd replace it. I took it back, thinking it was a short because when you hit a bump it came back on/off, they said it wasn't and won't fix it, and rolled their eyes at me! I'm trading it in ASAP!

I can feel every bump in the road, CD player skips while driving/ The seats stains very very easily/ bad on gas mileage, occasionally seems to have tranny issues/ plastic panels fall's off very easily. Material on interior is not the best quality. Horn is very hard to use, seats are not comfortable

Great Econo Car

The car is responsive in every way! I didn't expect to get cabin filtration, two-tone leather, power windows, programmable door locks, auto headlamps, fog lamps, cruise control, speed sensitive wipers, low noise level, low profile tires, premium wheels, spoiler, a large trunk and an auto dimming mirror w/ compass in any vehicle priced under $19,000. The center mounted instrument cluster makes you feel like you're in a European racer. I've owned my Ion3 for only a month and have driven it over 1600 miles. No matter how I drive, mpg seems to fall between 29.5 and 32.5. I'm anxious to see what it will do on a straight highway trip.

Greatest car, compared to an ACURA

I bought an ACURA RSX and in an unfortunate accident it was totalled. After I went car shopping again and almost bought the RSX. I shopped around everywhere...and on the way home testdrove the ION. Wow, what a ride! It was smooth, quiet, and the horsepower was great. I wasn't able to get the leather interior and souped up sound system with the ACURA, but for under $20K, I bought the ION3 with every option available. What a bargain! Whoever stated the seat was uncomfortable must have been a large, or miserable guy, because I am 5'10, 170, and I have an AMPLE amount of room to move my legs.
