Used 2003 Saturn ION Sedan Consumer Reviews
Saturn Ion 2
I purchased this NEW Ion 2 in late May of 03, it's now late July. During this time my hood release fell off, I had to take it back in to get it fixed. Then I put my key in the passenger door to unlock it and the little metal piece that you put your key in fell into the door, the dealership in Columbia, SC said "That seems to be a similar thing happening to the Ion". Yesterday the little change drawer came off, I managed to fix it myself though. My wife also pointed out that the gas door is getting crooked and needs to be tightened. It is reliable so far though as far as getting yout from A to B.
Satisfaction
With 2,500 miles under my belt including 8 hour trips from Rochester, NY to Maine and back I can say that for the money, this is the best vehicle you can buy. At 6'4" leg and head room is a premium and this was the most comfortable out of the ten I test drove in its class. Handling, fuel economy, and pure aesthetics are all above average in this vehicle.
Great Bang for the Buck!
I choose the Ion 1 with automatic transmission, air conditioning, compact disc player, and anti-lock brakes with traction control. The total retail price was $11,375 after applying $1,000 owner loyalty money, $1,500 Ion incentive, and $750 college graduate money. The whole buying experience is such a relief. If you haven't driven an Ion - do yourself a favor and give it a shot.
I love it!
I've had the car about 3 weeks now and I'm still so happy with it. The driver's seat is VERY comfortable, the only complaint I had initially was the size of the center console meant my right leg butted against it but a seat adjustment slightly back straightened my leg and stopped the discomfort. I like the height of the seat, which is adjustable higher or lower. The old Saturn felt like your butt was dragging the ground but the new seat really puts you up there for a more comfortable view.
A fun Drive
Unique Styling for a compact car. More car for the price.
