Overview

The Cullinan is the only SUV in Rolls-Royce's exclusive lineup. The British automaker is known for large and lavish cars like the Phantom and Ghost, but in a world dominated by high-riding vehicles, the Cullinan has become the British marque's top seller. It's immensely luxurious and supremely customizable like the flagship Phantom and shares the luxury yacht's V12 engine and reverse-hinged doors. A more powerful and exclusive Black Badge version is offered for those who want the most the Cullinan has to offer. For 2025, the "Rolls-Royce of SUVs" gets a face-lift and several interior upgrades.
Edmunds spotlight: The Cullinan's 2025 updates
For 2025, the world's most luxurious SUV — its official name is now the Cullinan Series II — gets a restyled front end that includes new headlights and an illuminated grille. Coupling those updates with slightly reworked sides and rear end, the Cullinan looks more modern and easier on the eyes. Optional 23-inch wheels are new and the largest ever fitted to the SUV. Inside, the Cullinan sports an updated infotainment system from the Spectre electric coupe and a new glass panel that stretches from the driver's digital instrument panel to the new passenger-side illuminated laser-etched dashboard panel. A new upholstery option called Duality Twill is made of bamboo fibers and is constructed from 11 miles of thread and up to 2.2 million stitches. Under the hood, the 563-horsepower turbocharged V12 (592 hp in the Black Badge) remains unchanged.
Competitors to consider
As with most Rolls-Royce models, there is nothing else that truly matches the Cullinan. But if its price tag is unattainable, you can opt for the more affordable Bentley Bentayga. It also offers loads of luxury, power and customization but doesn't have the presence or panache of a Cullinan. Another high-riding lush cruiser to consider is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Based on the standard Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV, it boasts an impressive array of tech and luxury features, but it isn't nearly as customizable as the Cullinan or Bentayga.
