2024 Porsche Macan

To start, know that it's going to be a little confusing. The electric version of the Macan is an entirely different vehicle, even though it shares the same name and has similar styling. In addition to its EV powertrain, it has a different chassis, a larger interior and upgraded technology features. There will simply be two new trim levels that will be electric: the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. They both have dual electric motors, all-wheel drive and a pretty big battery pack with 100 kWh of capacity. The main difference between these two is power: The Macan 4 will make 382 horsepower and the Macan Turbo will crank out an eye-opening 576 hp. Our rating below is for the gas versions of the Macan, but know that the electric versions do basically everything better (except for making noise). There aren't many straightforward rivals to the Macan, as its price point puts it up against larger and more comfortable competition. But that points to the trade-offs of opting for this Porsche: You're forgoing some utility for fun behind the wheel. The BMW X3, Genesis GV70 and Mercedes-Benz GLC all offer more interior space and greater comfort, especially in the back seat, where the Macan gets a bit claustrophobic.
