Used 1997 Plymouth Voyager Consumer Reviews
highly recommend
I've had mine for a few years and I really like it. It does leak oil and is starting to burn trans. fluid at 140,000. Otherwise, I have had few if any problems, just routine maint. It's comfortable to drive and I use it for auctions, craft shows and camping. I've had it loaded to the max without the seats and it can hold alot!!!
Above average van - Research it first!
I have owned a Plymouth Voyager Rallye - Standard w/ 3.3 v6, since 1/96. I have 101K on the car as of 8/02. Early on there was simple problems - but nothing major. At 38k I needed major work on the AC system. Around 50K electric locks and door mechanism. Ever since, The Car has been very reliable. Interior has held up reasonably well and is better suited for a family of four (Rear seats have limited leg room). Exterior still holds a pretty fair shine. I change oil every 4-5k and do the scheduled manufacturers maintenance as needed. Overall, it has been a versatile and reliable work horse.
I would buy another
I bought my 1997 Voyager when I still had kids at home and after eleven years/215,000 miles and no major work done, the tranny finally gave out. I hope to rebuild myself, I would hate to give up on this car. I would like to buy another new one, I liked it so much!
