2005 Nissan Xterra Off Road 6MT 4WD
For the price, it's quite a roomy SUV with quite a powerful engine. THE CONS: The transmission is quite noisy and feels like driving a truck. Shifting is not as smooth as it would be in a car. Noise carries inside especially when shifting gears. Lacks the smoothe ride of a car or a luxury SUV. The dash is very dreary. Front passenger seat not very comfortable. The vinly lined cargo are tends to get scratched. Bad at handling corners. THE PROS: Fun to drive, especially on straight roads. Good performance(0-60 in under 8 sec). Pricing. Cloth seats have a unique fabric that give it a rugged look. Descent fuel efficieny when you take into account that it's a SUV and has a 265hp engine.
Found a friend with Nissan
Owned a Cadillac CTS when I bought "The X" and didn't drive the CTS for three weeks because I loved The X so much. Purchased used 05/2010 at 65K, now has 101K. I have replaced NOTHING! Solid, reliable truck with compartments everywhere for storage. Finally sold my Cadillac because I liked the Nissan better. I will stay with Nissan as long as they keep making vehicles like this one. My ONLY complaint: Back seat leg room. My friends have a lot of trouble getting in and out. One other thing: Tire pressure light comes on after traveling a constant speed for 40-50 miles. Does it every time. I think it's the new tires. Not sure...

dissappointed with nissan
Loved the bright yellow color of this sporty suv. Boy was I dissappointed when the radio display malfunctioned at 15000 miles. I was even more dissappointed when the air condition went out completely. We live in Florida so air is a must and the compressor is pricey and should not have went out on a nissan so new. going to trade this on a RELIABLE toyota.
Not a "car" SUV
If you are looking for a "car" SUV, look at a CRV or RAV4. If you want a real truck that can traverse real off road terrain, tow substantial loads, and has enough power to blow off v-8 powered trucks, and for way less than $30K...no need to look further!
I love my " X"
I love my "x". i will continue to buy an x-terra for as long as they make them. I am going on 40,xxx and it is still the best choice I made. Even with gas prices jumping i will take out a loan to cont. driving my "x".
