UPDATE 9/25/24 - Closing in on 100,000 miles with no issues! Regular maintenance items coming up, will need 4 new tires soon. Car battery at 70%, replaced years ago. Staying on top of the oil, coolant, etc by checking the fluids every so often. Great ownership experience! UPDATE 3/24/24 - Just hit 9 years of ownership! 96,000 miles! no issues, regular maintenance. Tires are going to need to be replaced this year but other than, its been running like a clock! UPDATE 3/24/22 - Just hit 7 years of ownership! Still going strong, no problems so far at 81,000 miles! I did replace the front breaks which is a maintenance item. UPDATE 3/23/21 - Still going strong, recently replaced the battery at 74,000 miles. I am a happy camper and so far have had the best vehicle ownership experience! Mileage clocked at 75,400 miles now! I did get the transmission drain and fill done at the Nissan dealership. UPDATE 9/20/19 - Still going strong, no issues at 67,000! UPDATE 3/20/19 - At 65,000 miles and 4 brand new tires later, no problems. I recently had a 'courtesy' inspection performed where I get my oil change done, they said no issues with the car. Factory maintenance will be on my list next. ------------------------------ UPDATE: I now have my Rogue for over 3 years and at 59,000 miles, haven't had any issues! Just regular maintenance, including oil change every 5,000miles. Will be replacing my original rear tires before winter, they are worn out - that will be it! ------------------------------ I have owned many vehicle's in the past, none quite as reliable as this one. I bought the vehicle brand new from the dealership. Apart from the synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles, I have yet to change a thing in the vehicle! The interior is comfortable, the drive is smooth, but could use a little bit of getup and go when needed. Hopefully, I will own this vehicle for years to come.

Before we bought our Rogue, we test drove every affordable CUV on the market, except the Mitsubishi and VW (no dealers close). This one made our short list and eventually came out on top. And upon reading many reviews, I'm left a bit confused by a lot of them. The very first thing we noticed was the interior was absolutely top notch compared to the rest of the competition. There's absolutely no comparison. From the hodge-podge layout of the Escape to the ludicrously tacky silver painted buttons on the Equinox that are guaranteed to rub off (we actually liked the Equinox too, however), this vehicle was in another caliber. The Hyundai was the only vehicle to come close, but it had a higher cost for similar features. If you test drive it, make sure to take it up to highway speeds. It's unbelievable how quiet this thing is when cruising, NO other CUV was as quiet as this. So far, the thing has been a breeze. No issues as of yet. Getting decent mileage, 28.6 average. It's nowhere near my compact sedan's numbers, but that's to be expected. To the folks reporting 22 mpg or worse...I have no idea how you're managing that. Probably the same people that complain about engine noise at wide open throttle I would gather. Anyway! The wipers are an issue, as others have noted. I did find in the manual however, if you push the wiper lever up twice, it moves the wipers up and stops them so you can lift them or change blades, etc. So it's not a huge issue. But it's still worth mentioning. CVT has been fine. The dealer we bought it from offers free infinite powertrain warranties on all their new vehicles so long as you perform the recommended maintenance (and keep proof). That was a major factor for me, as I don't trust CVTs yet. But I have to say, so far, I'm really enjoying the way the CVT performs. It's a lot more responsive than the old CVTs of decades ago. Really bizarre to go up and down hills and not have your speed vary one tiny bit, just watch the tach increase and decrease. Pretty cool! Performance wise I have no issues with it. Has no problem scooting up to highway speeds on on-ramps. I read about complaints of noise, but I really don't understand that either. The tach hardly ever goes past 2.5 or 3k while I'm accelerating. Maybe I'm just not as spirited a driver as some? Yes, you can floor it and send it to 6.3k like any other engine, and it probably makes a good bit of noise at wide open throttle! I don't know, I'll let you know when I floor it. If I ever floor it. Silly me, I want to actually see 200,000 on my odometer someday!

Best option out of 8 tested cars

MY wife's wanted to replaced her Toyota prius 2008 with a small SUV (Chicago winters, getting up higher). We tested and read reviews of 8 SUV models (Honda CRV, Toyota Rav, MAZDA, Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape, GMC terrain, Subaru Forester) and we picked Nissan Rogue. I am 6'2, wife is 5'1, + 5 year old girl. The Subaru was a favorite but I was not comfortable. Wife liked the ford also but the Nissan is safer and better MPG. Great head space, easy navi system, great comfort and awesome 360 backup camera, top safety pick NTSB, great leg room backseat. SV trim comes with lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and NAVI. Take Nissan into account when looking, our first Nissan!

Needed tranny before 100k, engine replaced by 140K

I bought this car new in 2015. I drive about 45,000 miles per year - 90% highway. I live in northern Maine, 1 mile from the highway with average speed of 80mph. After 2+ years, and 96,000 miles, I needed a new transmission (100K warranty). One year later at, 140,000 miles, the dealer says I need a new engine. I've lost compression in all four cylinders. This was due to a failure of the PCV system. The estimated cost is $9,500. I have complete records of all maintenance performed on this vehicle. I spoke with Nissan consumer relations, they told me they would not assist in the repair cost, even though they acknowledged that this car has unique problems. This car also has had an issue for the last year an half where you lose all power suddenly. It is 'fixed' by turning the car off for 30 seconds. After restarting the car has power again. The dealer could not find a reason for this problem. I had a few other faulty issues, such as have to replace window regulators twice. While I love the interior of the car, and never spoke badly of Nissan (even after the tranny problem) I am now completely unsatisfied.

I recently purchased a 2015 Rogue SV with the premium package. The premium package is great and gives all the features I wanted without having to go up to the SL. The car drives great and has no issues through snow or cold so far. Every review I read said it had trouble getting uphill and passing on the highways, I have yet to experience any issue with this and I do a lot of highway and hill driving. It has tons of room for all types of passengers. So far I have fit 3 adult sized male passengers in the backseat without any problems. The power liftgate is amazingly convenient. Only drawbacks are that there is no remote start and you cannot pull up the wipers for snowy forecasts.
