Pathfinder
Excellent design. Smoother ride than other SUVs. Strong suspension for a lightweight vehicle. Good 4X4 capabilities for flat and sand terrain. The 170HP engine not enough for hills and original tires not adequate for mud. Some cool details like power windows work just between turning engine off and opening a door. Brakes apply for a brief moment if transmission put in neutral with engine running.
Going Strong
My 2000 Pathfinder is now 4 years old and going strong. I only have 33,000 miles on it, but use it daily and haven't had any problems. Quality is excellent. Like others, my only complaint is the lack of power and fuel economy. Before this model I had a 1997 Pathfinder and it was underpowered as well, but perhaps even more so. Although I'm not in the market for a new car (I loathe the thought of spending $30k for a car) I'd buy another Pathfinder in a minute.

Great truck
I think this is a great riding truck. I bought it after trying an Envoy The LE has a better suspension then the SE it is setup to give a luxury ride. Don't expect lots of power but the gas mileage is not really that bad compared to the 2001 models.
Nissan Reliabilty
I was torn between the 2001 model and the 2000 model. Good thing I got the 2000 model which runs on regular octane gas with gas price so high now. I consider myself a typical SUV user. Someone who will probably never take this SUV off the ashpalt pavement except for the dirt & gravel road I took between Nevada and California when there was a major sig alert on I15 and that was fun.
200 Nissan Pathfinder
The SUV is well designed, convenient to use and loaded with convenience features.Nissan bulds a quality vehicle.
good, solid truck
Have my 2000 LE for three years now. Only repairs were recent, warped front rotors, one oxygen sensor, and an exhaust system from the catalytic converters back. Current mileage is 66,000
Excellent SUV without the high sticker $
My wife and I love this car. It was our first family car and after 5 years of owning it, we are still very happy with its quality and performance.
very reliable SUV
Very reliable SUV that can tow 3000lbs without concern. It's limit is 5000, but that's pushing this engine to it's max. Very nice ride that gets about 20+ with mostly hwy driving. Comfortable on long trips and 4WD is great for the snow or dirt.
Love It
I've only put tires, oil and gas in it. Today, after 79000m (mostly city miles), replaced front breaks. Car feels like new. Hope to drive another 5 years without problem :) My first SUV so can not compare it to other cars but so far Reliability is perfect.
great used SUV
I've noticed with my 2000 Pathfinder LE that when cold, it won't shift into overdrive until engine is warm. A little frustrating when most of my driving is highway. Fuel economy is 15 city and 17 hwy. When pulling, I get 14-15 depending on how fast I go. The comfort is outstanding, not trucky at all. Feels like a dream to sit in. Heated seats will light your backside on fire.
I love this SUV
The 2000 Pathfinder LE is a fantastic SUV! I would tell anyone to get one. No SUV has really great fuel economy, but the Pathfinder really isn't bad at all. We bought it new in 2000 and have put close to 84,000 miles on it with NO PROBLEMS! All we have done is change breaks, tires, oil... standard stuff. Living in PA we have to deal with snow a lot and this SUV is amazing with the 4WD, it WILL make it through just about anything you can throw at it! The SUV also has a wider wheel base and a lower profile than most other SUV's which keeps it from tipping over. If you can find a used 2000 Pathfinder LE then BUY IT! This car will not let you down.
Good, solid reliable SUV
I bought my 2000 Pathfinder used in 2003. It had 28000 miles on it when I bought it. This is my second Pathfinder, I previously owned a 1995 that needed only two repairs in the four years I owned it, and both were minor repairs. That's what prompted me to buy another PF. I am already thinking about my third, maybe a 2003 or 2004. I will pass this one along to my son, as it is just too good to sell.
2000 Nissan Pathfinder 4Dr SE 4WD Wagon
I purchased this Pathfinder in 2003 with 44,000 miles. It now has over a 100,000 on it and I couldn't be happier. I have had no major problems with it and have kept up on all the regular maintenance. This truck is very reliable and would recommend it to anyone. I plan on keeping this one for a few more years though as it's just too good to give up so soon.
Practical and Reliable
Bought the 00 Pathfinder SE with 35K miles. It currently has 98K and the only major work performed was replacing the AC compressor. That cost about $1050. This little SUV just runs, runs and runs and I am planning to keep it for another 100K miles. Only drawback would be gas mileage but what SUV doesn't use up gas? At 98K miles, I am getting about 15 miles around the city and 19-20 miles on the highway. Overall, this little truck has been so reliable I have no choice but to keep it. Just make sure you do the reg. oil changes and chang the transmission fluid every 35K miles and rotate your tires every 10K. I feel the truck will go another 100K miles.
Best used vehicle I've ever purchased
I bought this Pathfinder with 44,000 miles on it, and in 2 1/2 years it has been flawless. I had it tuned up at 60,000 and I keep the oil changed every 3000 miles. It lacks a little power but I don't really need any more than it has. Smooth riding for an suv. I would recommend one of these to anyone. I actually may start looking for a used one a couple years newer since they are rated high too.
Super
Reliability is amazing, +130,000km, without a problem, truck needs more HP and torque. There is just not enough power behind the wheel.
AWESOME CAR!
I love this car. It's the most reliable, fun to drive, excellent SUV.
Love my Pathfinder
I can do so much more with my Pathfinder than I ever could with any other car. We love to fish and camp and have been able to get to new spots with it that we could not get to in any car. We have had a lot of rain in the Northeast this year and it has gotten me out of deep mud several times. The gas mileage is so-so, but not bad compared to other SUVs. We live in a pretty populated area and I have no trouble merging in heavy 60+ mph traffic so don't listen to what they say about the engine. All in all, this is a great looking, sporty SUV that will get you unstuck and you will feel great driving it.
Pathfinder Review
Reliable, except @ 150,000km Radiator blew. Great looking truck, comfortable to drive. Not very smooth. It does not have very much power/pick-up and go because it is not the 3.5L.

Good truck for the 1st 100K
I've owned this truck since new. Very comfortable. Only complaint is the poor MPG (~15). In 105K miles, not one breakdown or problem. I've only put tires, oil, gas, and a timing belt into the car. No breaks, exhaust - nothing! I did have trouble keeping the tires balanced (too big?) I always seem to have a shimmy on the highway.
Great truck for anything!
I bought the SE in 2002 with 22,000 miles and now it has 132,000 miles. No major problems at all! Regular oil changes and new tires and shocks, it rides like its brand new. Its very agile around sharp turns and very capable on washed out roads. A K&N air filter gives it more power. Regular easy maintenance keeps it running and running. Its very reliable, everything is working correctly. Lack of power but the 3.3L V6 is very easy to maintain, very reliable. I love this truck.
Unreliable and Costly
9 years old, 88,000 miles. In the last 2 years, I've spent $3500 in repairs such as: muffler system, struts, brakes, tires, ignition key cylinder. Now, it has a radiator fluid leak due to a blown head gasket, I'm told. Costly repair. I've never had that happen, especially at this mileage. I would avoid the Pathfinder
Still going strong
I now have around 98K on this truck. I bought it in 2003 with 23K. Overall, it has been very reliable and comfortable, but the repair bills have been adding up. I guess that's to be expected with any nine year old vehicle. Did need the exhaust system from the converter back replaced twice. Also had to go for rotors once and recently did the timing belt and water pump. The only real surprise as far as repairs was that the wheel bearings became scorched and had too much play. They were expensive as there are two sets in the front. The bearings, seals, races and a sway bar linkage was almost $1000, more than the timing belt and water pump. Still, it has never failed to start or stranded me.
Super SUV
Great SUV. Bought brand new. Never had any problem with vehicle. Now has 90000 miles still runs like a charm. To this day still enjoy driving this vehicle. Handles well in any condition. Best bang for the buck.
Love My Pathfinder
I love my pathfinder. I just wish that it got better gas mileage and with the prices of rising gas i would consider trading it in on something more economic but it was my first car and i love it. I would highly recommend this car to someone that was looking for a very reliable SUV that looks good and drives good and has the reputation that nissans have.
