Used 2012 Nissan Altima Sedan Consumer Reviews
I used to love nissannot anymore
I have a four door 3.5 liter engine Nissan sedan. I was excited when I first got it because it had low mileage and it seem like a very dependable car. I had the car for a little less than 4 months and had to take it into the dealership because the lights were flickering and the Windows would not go up and down. the dealership said they could not find anything wrong with it and left it at that. A few months later again it was a sensor that went bad they had to replace that but the lights were still flickering and again they couldn't find anything wrong with it. we did this for over a year went to the dealership 4 times. I don't know if anybody else has experienced electrical issues with this type of vehicle but I highly recommend that you don't purchase. it is to the point now that I'm actually scared to drive it because it says no key on a constant basis after changing the batteries out I'm pretty much a regular basis. the doors won't lock even though there automatic lock doors and this makes me nervous with my children in the car and driving. so if anyone has young children and travels more than 15 miles this car is not for you.

Great car; Terrible paint quality
Bought a brand new 2012 Altima for my son's 18th birthday. He has a fairly long commute to work and put around 100k on it within 7 years. Mechanically it has been a very reliable car. The problem is that the black paint/clearcoat began to erode after around 7 years. As the clearcoat begins to chip it shows a white chalky substance on the black paint. His hood is a mess and it is starting on the roof as well. i contacted the dealer who was quick to point out that it was out of warranty so there was nothing they could do about it. I have never purchased a brand new car that needed to be repainted within 7 years of ownership. Needless to say I will never again purchase a Nissan product.
The most reliable car I’ve owned.
After 6 years and 165,500 milesaside from oil, tires, brakes (scheduled maintenanvpce) the only issue I had was a failed air conditioner compressor and a door lock that would occasionally stick. Still runs and looks great.

Still great at 130k miles
I have the 2012 SR with the top trim. This is the greatest car I have owned. It is faster than my 2010 RS Camaro and almost as fast as my 05 350z. Normally I am not impressed with Altimas but this one has the upgraded double din touch screen, bose, ground lights and my favorite v6! The leather seats have held up incredibly well for this price point. I currently have 3 cars and I grab the Altima keys every time. It's the perfect commuter and feels like a sporty version of the limited Camry mixed with a 350z. Tons of room very smooth ride. However it does have its faults. The AC went out around 100k, Bluetooth can be spotty and had a squeaky brake pad in the rear that still had over 60% left. Doing oil changes is a bit of a pain but manageable ( I take the front passenger tire off). Gas mileage is pretty bad for the V6 18city 21hwy, but this car is measured in smiles per gallon. The BIG problem with these great machines is the CVT. That being said at 130k miles in the only complaint I have is it wants to shift from 1st to 2nd quickly and does not reward a light touch, not unbearable just annoying sometimes. 2nd to 6th is Great however and there's nothing wrong with 1st just the transition to 2nd. This car stomps out other V6 cars. It's sport/manual mode is awesome and very smooth. Driving this car is a vacation Everytime I drive it. I feel like the 2012 exterior is slightly dated at this point but the interior stays pretty modern for it's age. If I was in my 20's again and wanted to look like a big shot I would buy this again. That damn CVT is a shame because I would keep that car forever if there wasn't a looming $5k bill to fix the transmission in the future. Don't be afraid to buy this car with low mileage if you get a great deal. I have stomped on this car and it hasn't failed me yet. I have a Jeep Wrangler under 50k miles that throws check engine lights on like thats it's job, don't be afraid of Nissan's they're great cars for the money.

Vehicle
When I bought a Nissan Altima I was thrilled. When I looked inside the interior look brand new. Very roomy and comfortable for road trip. Plus it get great gas mileage. Also inside the car there are plenty of storage places. All the electronics worked great. It's a push to start no key is needed which I thought was pretty cool. The outside looked good no dents and had good tires on it. When I test drove it it drove very smoothly. No problems with the vehicle at all. I would recremind getting the vehicle if yu are needing something reliable and great on gas.
