After 4 years with an Audi A-4, needed something more reliable (it had major, constant repairs) and economical, that was close to the pep, style and quality of the Audi. Found it in the Mazda 3s! Looked at the 2006 models, but didn't like interior fabrics so waited for 2007 models. Grey fabric is perfect. Over 600 miles so far, and love it. Rides great, plenty of zoom power, over 30 MPG, seats VERY comfortable, controls well designed, and surprisingly quiet despite prior 2006 reviews of "road noise". Audio sound system excellent, tight turning ratio, and easy to handle. Overall, a great ride and great value. Consumer Guide reports a long, trouble-free car life. Hope so. Perfect.

2007 Mazda 3i Touring ROCKS!

I researched for 3 months which car would be the best value for my budget and I am so glad I did. The Mazda 3i Touring is everything I expected in regards to value, what I didn't anticipate was how much fun it would be! I commute 98 miles round trip to work and you would think that driving would be the last thing that I would want to do for entertainment--HOWEVER-- this car changed all that for me. I have rediscovered my joy of driving and my family fights me for the keys. I am getting on average around 500 miles per tank of gas which makes driving for fun even more inviting, not to mention the surprising power--this thing drives like a sports car!

Just traded in my 2006 Tacoma for the Mazda3. Wow. What a ride. The performance and handling of this car put it so far ahead of the others in the class (can you hear me Honda, Toyota, Ford, etc?). Mine's brand new, but I'm already averaging 31 mpg. It is such a blast to drive, and surprisingly roomy inside considering how small it looks. When you first sit in this car, you feel like you're in a more expensive class of vehicle. Everything is rock-solid and extremely well put together. Just simply a joy to drive and own. If a small economical car is on your wish list, you'd be doing yourself a great disservice to not at least look at the Mazda3.

This was a toss-up between the 06/07 Civic and the 3. In the end the Mazda 3's suspension broke the tie. The sporty handling and smooth ride was on Mazda's side. The Civic felt a tad bumpy. For a 2.0 the car can move paired with the 4 speed sport-shifting automatic. My wife commutes with the car about 160 miles a week so the gas savings was what opened us up to the car, yeah the Civic got 40 but really, no comparison between the 2 for handling. Cant get the wife to give it up for a day.

I feel that my Mazda 3 deserves to be reviewed on the Edmunds website. I purchased my 2007 Mazda 3 sedan at 40,000 miles..To make a long story short, i now have 155,000 miles currently and the 2.0 MZR (mazda reactive inline 4) keeps begging for more. The automatic transmission, and sports manual shifts and performs flawlessly.. If you are in 3rd on the sports manual shifter at 60 MPH and shift into second, the Mazda 2.0 will do the factory 6500 rpm easily and shift past 2nd and 3rd at maximum factory RPM like melted butter on a New York baseball steak... In conclusion i would recommend a magnaflow performance exhaust with an AEM cold air intake.. I promise you, whoever purchases the 2007 mazda 3 sedan or hatch, you will never be disappointed. Safe and sound! Safe and sound!
