Great looking exterior but interior is lacking - nav system blurs out up top and steering wheel is like trying to grip a wet bar of soap to the point of being dangerous when turning. If steering wheel is leather it is very cheap. Spoke to dealer and they had no answers. Overall the interior of GX is much closer now to 4 runner than the smaller version of the LX that it used to be. Not saying that’s bad but it is a completely different car

GX 550 overtrail owner

Love the GX 550 overtrail. Have owned two previous GX 460's and this model far exceeds the 460. The cabin exceeds my expectations and the new engine is great. MPG not the greatest but I suspect most people don't buy these for MPG savings. Love the Overtrail as the third row available on the Luxury appears useless to me....if you need a third row buy a minivan. Overall, love the vehicle after about 4 months and 5k miles.

I traded a 2020 RR Sport HST for my new 2024 GX 550 Lux+. They’re both great in their own way. I like my GX, but there are a few things that Lexus got wrong: 1) sunroof that doesn’t vent…ridiculous, 2) lack of storage space for front driver or passenger…nowhere to store things, and 3) annoyingly small gas tank, poor gas mileage…with only premium fuel. The looks are good, the ride is nice and I’m hoping for long-term reliability.

Awesome looking vehicle., smooth on the road, very comfortable seating. Loaded with technology. I am still learning things about this SUV.

Just picked up an OT+ about 3 weeks ago. Great vehicle so far. Did some off-roading and it did very well. Comparable to my 4Runner TRD Pro on the trails, but much more comfortable. Power is great. Ride is great. My only complaint so far is that the passenger side massage seat stopped working after only 3 weeks. Hopefully that’s a quick fix. Otherwise it’s been a real pleasure to drive. If you’re looking for an overland vehicle that can get you into the back country, but you’d like a massage while you’re there, this might be your ticket.

Head turner but luxury + needs more

One of the best looking suvs on the market hands down. The body on frame makes it a rougher ride than the defender and the variable suspension doesn't do a ton to help it. A few new model quirks that will absolutely get ironed out in the future. Massage seats are best in class (accessing them on the dash is a pain though). I don't know if the luxury + is worth the price but more options should be available (two-tone roof, more luxurious materials internally) at that price point. I would recommend the other options as their price points and options are better bang for the buck and you still have the best looking SUV.

Overtrail 550

Enjoyed the view of the road. The side sensors caused causing blind spots to either speed up or slow down. Excellent Acceleration. Mrs. Likes the 550 more than the GX 460.

Though I originally didn’t plan on getting the Overtrail model, when one came available in black, once I saw it I was hooked. However, once I got in and drove it I was like a kid with a new bicycle. Inside the dash is laid out nicely with most features being adjusted through the huge driver interface screen. For a vehicle sporting 33 inch tires this this drives great on the highway. And for those of you, like me, who like some performance from their engine try setting the drive mode to either Sport or Sport+ and hang on. It’s no performance car but with the twin turbos kicking in along with the drive mode modifications to not only throttle and shift response but in Sport+ you also get a change to exhaust tone, no idea how they do that. This is just one seriously fun vehicle to drive.

Overtrail + Road Trip

Just took a 2,700 mile road trip in our new 2025 GX550 Overtrail+. This is our third Lexus vehicle along with a couple of Toyota 4Runners. The vehicle ran well and has plenty of power. Other than that we had many disappointments with this SUV. The car wants to tell you how to drive. Constant alerts that are annoying to say the least. Kept getting an alert that my eyes were closed along with not sitting up straight. If another vehicle passed too close you get an alarm, pull into a parking space and you get alarms, pull into a drive through window and get alarms. Lexus has forgotten the KISS rule (keep it simple stupid). I'm tall, with the front seat all the way back there is not any room for an adult to sit behind me. The back compartment storage area is not a level surface and the rear seats are tilted back which restricts the ability to stack equipment in an upright position. There is very limited storage up front with the door pockets, glove box and the center console. The cooler box is a complete waste of space as it will hold a very minimum amount of contents. The side view mirrrors are too small in my opinion. After reading the various reviews and waiting six months to receive this vehicle, I must say that it does not continue the Lexus/Toyota experience that we have had with our past SUV's. Hoping that we will be capable of having the various alarms and safety features on this vehicle turned off. We did not purchase a car to be told how to drive.

Souped up Toyota

Test drove the Overtrain and it felt just a little better than a family members new Tacoma TRD Off-Road. Very little about it feels like a Lexus. If you really are going over trails I guess it's a good bet but not fun to drive otherwise. Cool looking but I suspect people on the wait list will get tired of it pretty quick.

Smooth ride . Shifting almost unnoticeable. Acceleration a little loud but dies down as you meet required speed.
