I love driving this vehicle. It feels heavy and safe and has fantastic pick up for passing. The only negative is the navigation system is a bit confusing and can only be reset when the vehicle is stopped.

I have been driving the GX470 for one month and I have receiving more of what I pay for it. Previously, I had a Toyota Land Cruiser and I changed for GX 470 2004 (full); better suspension, more futures, more comfort, ride quality, better acceleration respond when I need it, more quietness, smoother, with the same interior room (more head room) and believe me I was really happy with my 99 Land Cruiser! This is power, reliability and comfort, this is a Lexus!

I purchased this vehicle after selling a 2003 Toyota 4-Runner LTD. I like the stability I felt when I took this vehicle skiing. I purchase a loaded version and my kids love the DVD.

We have owned our GX 470 for about 2 months and are extremely pleased with our purchase. Very comfortable ride, drives like a car, solid pickup. Good in-vehicle gadgetry. Great dealer support. Gas mileage appears to be worse than reported.

A great vehicle for someone who wants a true SUV with the capability of a comfortable ride and handling. After trying quite a few SUV's, this one was by far the best for the money.

I'm a Realtor and when it came time to buy a car/SUV that would satisfy my strict requirements, the GX LUV was the only one I wanted. The Navigation system is sensational. This is truly a vehicle that handles like a sports car but with all the capabilities of a SUV. The only downside is the bad gas mileage!

I have driven the GX for 1 week now. We are extremely pleased with this SUV. The navigation system is fairly easy to use and the Mark Levinson stereo is excellent. This is our 3rd Lexus. Needless to say that we have been extremely satisfied.

Better SUV than I thought now that I own one. Love it! Very versatile with the removable back seats. Gas mileage however, can be improved.

This vehicle is a great ride compared to my Mountaineer (which we also love). The Lexus actually has several less features than the Mountaineer, including the hatch door, key pad entry, and adjustable pedals. The navigation system is very nice visibly, but the voice recognition does not really work at all. I tell it to, "go home" and it shows me courthouses. I mean it is not even close. The ride is what makes the vehicle, no comparison to the aviator in my family's opinion.

Enjoyed the test drive and buying experience. The driving experience is comfortable and smooth. At the end of my trips I could continue driving with little effort. Thanks Lexus for taking the work out of driving and getting it right.

We've owned ours for a couple of weeks, and ultimately decided between the GX and the Acura MDX. The price difference was about $6000 and our decision was based upon the fact that the Lexus was more than $6000 better in every way. IMHO, the MDX just didn't come close to justifying it's price tag. The Lexus interior is beyond compare. The leather is first rate, and everything is where it should be. The exterior styling is unqique, particularly because the GX does not look simply like a pickup truck with a camper shell. The thrid row seat and second row work well together and it's not difficult to take the third row out. Ride is not hard like MDX.

Just picked up my '04 GX 470. All I have to say is WOW!!! I am thoroughly impressed with Lexus's design. Not only does this vehicle drive like a dream, it has every interior gadget you can think of. I test drove the BMW X5, Cadillac SRX, & Escalade. Let me tell you they don't even compare. Lexus set the bar with this design!!!

I'm 47 and I needed a luxury car for work and a 4 wheel for fun. The GX is perfect for business and pleasure. Process of elimination came down to new Sequoia, ML500,older LX470 and a 2004 GX470. BUY THE GX and don't look back. It's worth every penny.This car does everything but shave, shower and make love to you. The sales person said that comes with next years model. Rear camera has saved me twice, navigation is awesome,drove 600 miles in the mountains without a map. The DVD was a hit taking my children to Yosemite this week. The leather and wood interior is beautiful. My only complaint is that it's so quiet that I'm not aware I'm driving 85-90, no kiddin

The Lexus GX 470 is one of the most awesome suvs I have ever riden,sat in, and seen.It is even better than the Lexus LX 470, especially the Exterior design.The inside is the best and most luxurious I have ever seen in a car yet. I love the way the back door opens which is sideways unlike the LX which opens half down and have up and I hate that.The engine the biggest engine that has everbeen put into a Lexus. The DVD entertaiment system is so cool because we get to watch any dvd we want and we get to play video games on it.The Navigation system is also fun to use.I like to play and use alot of its high-tech things.

The quality of the Lexus GX470 is outstanding, both inside and outside. The power train is extremely smooths and everything works and feels as though it was totally thought out.

this suv offers real comfort and a strong feeling of safety. Surprisenly i struggle with the rear visibility. i took out the 3rd row seats, they fold up to the side when not in use which really affects visibility and removed the 2nd seat headrests to provide clearer visibility and all is well for me. navigation system is very helpful and pretty easy to use. this is my first suv and i would purchase another.its size makes manuverability easier than i expected. i experienced (2) problems with car that needed factory fixes - it took too long -

The only thing Lexus missed was adding a rearview reverse camera for the navigation screen or at the very least a reverse sensors...other than that, this is a GREAT vehicle!

Bought my 2004 GX with Navigation and third row seats. The SUV sits very high which makes visibility great. I have had no problems with the vehicle to date but only have 1,000 miles on the vehicle. The backup camera is priceless as the vehicle has a large blind spot. The navigation and instrumentation is flawless.

If you want a luxury SUV that is great to look at, solid as anything available, and 100% reliable then buy this Lexus. I have 13,000 miles on it and it has been trouble free and a pleasure to own. Full time 4wd eats up some gas but the truck is great in some many other areas that you really can't complain.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Lexus GX470. The continuing service from the dealer has been outstanding, and I would not hesitate to purchase a new vehicle from them sight unseen. In fact, I did just that for my wife--an LS430. She has been equally satisfied. We are now Lexus "die hards!"

This is a fantastic vehicle, but it baffles my mind how did the designers failed to deal with the wind shudder. The wind shudder when opening the back windows of this vehicle render them almost unusable. A gross omission in an otherwise terrific vehicle.

I bought this strictly for the SUV tax credit, and it is my first SUV, having driven Honda/Acura products for the past 25 years. Wanted something at least as reliable. Sorry VW (Toureg). Would recommend it to anyone. Quiet and smooth.

I bought my 04 GX470 after looking at all of the choices in the class. The Lexus just offered more of what I wanted..an exceptional luxury interior, smooth refined powertrain, and the best reputation for quality and dealer service in the industry. I've had it on rough city streets and out on the freeway, and the ride and road manners are impeccable in all situations. It doesn't handle like a sports car , but I didn't buy a sports car either. It's handling is easy and supremely comfortable. Lots of room in the back seat for adults, the third seat is pretty useless though unless you haul munchkins around. Adjustable suspension settings work well, letting you set the handling/ride as you like.

you get what you pay for in this car. i just got this car on the 17th and i have never made a better decision. the voice command on the navigation is so much easier to use than other cars along with the navigation screen. the space to see behind you in reverse is limited but that isnt a problem if you got the rearview camera. the standard all wheel drive works like a charm and you couldnt ask for more standard features in any other cars. it even comes with the hill climbing systems and the height leveling system. the back door is very unique. i dont find the 3rd row seat very bad at all, after all, it has air conditioning. best car i ever had with bmw 5 series

Outstanding fit and finish. Engine is satin smooth and builds power with additional mileage. I've been averaging 18.9mpg with a combination of city(commute) and highway driving. Acceleration is strong but transmission shifts too soon (albeit very smoothly). Sports sedan type handling and a very tight turning radius, surprizing for a vehicle of this size.

MY AUTO IS 4 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE HAD MANY OTHER AUTOS AND I STILL TELL MY HUSBAND HOW MUCH I ENJOY DRIVING MY LEXUS SUV. WHEN I TRADE I WILL DEFINITELY PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE. MY HUSBAND HAS HAD 2 LEXUS AND LOVES THEM. AT THIS TIME HE HAS AN EXPLORER FOR HEAVY HAULING (NOT ALLOWED IN MY AUTO) AND THE REASON IN RICHMOND, VA. THEY WOULDN'T DEAL WITH HIM ON A TRADE IN. NOR DID THE MANAGER EVER CONTACT HIM. THE NEXT TIME HE PLANS TO PURCHASE ANOTHER LEXUS. IN ANOTHER CITY.

After driving large SUVs for many years, we wanted something smaller and more luxurious. This fit the bill very nicely. I wanted a truck-based design, not a car-based vehicle. Even so, this truck handles very smoothly. My wife loves driving it, and she hated driving the old Expedition. We've had this truck up skiing (deep snow) and in tons of rain (Seattle) and it works very well. I wonder how it will do once the sun comes out and we can open up the moonroof...

I have owned a BMW325ic and a Mercedes ML320 and this car is so far superior to both that it is astounding. I lost a head gasket on the BMW from chronic overheating and the ML320 electrical system failed 5 times and was almost a grand for brakes. The Lexus does not have the road feel of BMW but it is meant to have a luxury feel and is silent. You cannot tell if you are going 50 or 100 which tends to cause speeding tickets. No more repairs for me, Lexus is the best. Do not buy DVD aftermarket and IRA Lexus is a shoddy dealer,sold me after market DVD for 2 grand when factory one cost 1500! Did not do my homework on accessories.

I drive over 30,000 miles per year. I need a heavy car that is comfortable and that handles well. I have owned four SUV's prior to this one. The GX470 is awsome. I like this car so much that I bought one for my wife in June.

This is the the seventh Lexus I have owned, and it is by far my favorite. Our LX470 is also great, but this is more sporty, with more get up and go, and more sun to drive. The sound system is fantastic.

Was looking for a truck to take advantage of the tax code 179 before end of 2003. Must haves were great reliability and quiet ride. We also wanted a Nav system and felt this was the best for the money. The GX470 is quiet and smooth. Our daughter loves the DVD and wife likes the feeling of safety she gets when driving.

I thought I wanted an LX430, but the tax incentives forced me to consider an SUV. I looked at several, and fell in love with the GX470 "mid-sized" Lexus SUV. It is definitel "full-sized", but my very tiny wife LOVES to drive this car, as do I. I am a big man, and comfort is very important to me, as well as style, convenience and performance. I have owned several luxury vehicles, and this is my favorite so far. EASY handling, nice ride, beautiful sound system, great finish. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a top notch SUV.

Before this baby I had only Ford Explorer Limited's, left the brand due to the worst dealer treatment ever had, with my new Lex I feel pampered from test driving the vehicle to closing the deal I was treated like an V.I.P., going to the dealers shop is the same treatment, you are lex man go right ahead,there's a super hughemungus diffrence from the crapy ride of the explorer to a smooth sedan like ride of the lexus, in cabin is like flying first class pampered all the way, the vehicle was made a suv, if I wanted H.P. and speed I will have decided for the Gs400, I have kids waiting for me at home.
