Honest Review after 1 Year of Ownership
I purchased a 2023 Kia K5. Never owned a Kia before but purchased it mainly because Edmunds rated it top Midsize Sedan. I am a single father with 2 kids so needed a good little car to get the kids around. The styling on this car is slick and looks nice but that's where the good stops. I purchased this car fresh off the truck with 2 miles on it after the dealer was done testing it. I took it home to find out the back passenger door does not lock at all. Of course because it was such a new car the dealer could not even get parts so I had to wait 2 months before it was fixed. Then Kia didn't want to cover it under warranty. After a couple weeks fighting with Kia Corporate I finally got them to agree to cover their own manufacturing mistake. Took 2 days to get the part replaced leaving a bad taste in my mouth with Kia. 6 Months later I checked out my average gas millage and was shocked to find that I am getting only 28 MPG which is almost 10 MPG worse than the 2018 Honda Accord I traded in. 90% of my driving is Highway. That brings us to the present day. Found out my horn does not work. I guess I have never really tried it but today when I really needed it, The horn just did not work. Dealer tells me its not covered under warranty. I give up I am trading this thing in and moving on and will never own a Kia again.

GT-Line is what i want
I purchase the vehicle 3 days ago, i searched about it a lot, i got the GT-Line with Wolf Gray and Red Interior which is rare and hard to find. Gas/mileage is impressive and the vehicle is so good. Everyone is looking at me. People always asking what car it is and if there was no KIA logo nobody gonna know, someone asked me if its a dodge challenger or something, people always try to race with me but naa its a 1.6 vehicle and i wont race with someone, material is nice, drive is smooth, smart cruise is great. If they dont do a better 2024 model, ill keep this car as long as possible and take care it well, im sadly watching my mileage goes up but i love everything about the car.

Bad build
I ordered a 2023 K5 GT 4 months ago and finally was able to pick it up. Not sure if they let someone test drive my car or what, but it say has 12 miles on it upon my picking it up. When I drive it off the lot, I noticed that the passenger rear suspension was creaking even when not going over bumps. I let the dealership know and they claim it could be from sitting. 500 miles later and it’s gotten worse and no repair date till after November. Being a brand new car should mean they should be able to get looked at right away I feel. When they built this car they should have checked to make sure that nothing was wrong. I feel as though this car is going to be in and out of the shop again, just like my 2018 optima EX
Unbridled Power
The K5 GT is a beast. I have to purposely dial it back or I'll get in trouble. Love it. Really impressed with the MPG I'm getting. Rated at 32 highway, over first 3000 miles of mostly highway driving it has returned 37 mpg. Very comfortable seats and interior. Not impressed with the Bose "premium" stereo system. The Fender system on my previous VW was MUCH superior to this Bose. The car has just about every convenience features and options available but has no automatic windshield wipers. What's with that Kia? But overall I'm very pleased with my choice and how this car drives. For $37,700 this a lot of car and tons of value. Especially considering this seams to be a dying breed, the medium sized non-premium brand, non-EV sport sedan. ++
