I own a 2008 commander and my husband owns a 2006, we are both having a lot of the same issues. Both had to replace starter, Brakes, Wheel bearings, and my radio and passenger side window only works half the time. Did I mention that they both leak water on to the front floor boards. We have always been Jeep enthusiast but not we are starting to question the love of Jeeps verses the bullshit design and flaws that have come with these new models. Come on Chrysler quit trying to cut on quality we pay the price

I bought my Commander a month ago and am still waiting to get better than 12mpg city. Wow! Fuel economy means nothing at Jeep. I feel like it was something of an "impulse" purchase. I probably would have gone for something different if I had thought about it for another week or so. The first big rain of the year and my front passenger door seal started leaking. Jeep fixed. The looks and exterior sizing feels a little too metro for me. I figure I'm in it for the next few years, since the resale is dropping as I type.

What we don't like about the Jeep is the fuel economy, sound system, climate system, and reliability. With mixed city/highway miles we average 14-15mpg which is what the vehicle is rated for in city-only driving. 250-300 miles at most per fill-up -The climate system has been replaced yet the floor vents never shut off no matter the setting. -The sound system has too much bass even when completely turned down. -After the transmission fluid was flushed twice, the car still had problems shifting so the transmission was replaced around 30k after arguing with the dealership. -Both of the oxygen sensors failed before 60k miles and the whole exhaust had to be removed to replace them.

We have owned this vehicle for one year now and have regretted the purchase every day since. It has been in the shop so many times we have lost count. It will die while in motion and cause loss of steering and braking. It has happen several times and no one can seem to fix the problem. It is a death trap! Luckily, these "stalls" have happened at low speeds. Wind noise, water leaks, ac makes horrible sounds, numerous recalls, and slow response throttle are just some of the problems we have faced. We bought this car brand new, it was not used. These problems are happening to most owners of this car. NHTSA is investigating the engine and hopefully the situation will finally be fixed. Horrible!!
