Service Shifter error light comes on, dealership c

"Service shifter" warning light started coming on on the driver display this summer, accompanied with a warning chime. At first intermittently, now it is on pretty much full time after moving into gear. I am unable to use 4WD, see electronic speedometer, gas consumption gauges or other information on vehicle due to the error message. Took to Wyler Eastgate Jeep on 7/16, they informed me the bezel on the shifter needed replacement, and the part would be in the following week. I had them keep the car for the following week. The following week they notified me it was possible the part wouldn't be available until the end of the July, but that the vehicle was still under warranty so it wouldn't cost me anything. I have since followed up in August and again last week as the dealer never called back on the status. The latest call was on 9/29 (almost 3 months since first appointment), and the parts department contact told me that of the two parts needed for the repair, one was placed on "increased backorder status" from Jeep, meaning that the dealerships were "blocked" from ordering it or it even being sent out to the dealership. They are now unaware of when the part might become available again. From this experience and the comments, it sounds as though the part is faulty, hence it won't be used on a repair. Sounds like there should be a recall issued if the part is faulty and the number of complaints is so widespread, and Jeep hasn't addressed it to consumers or dealers. My 2017 Cherokee has 28,000 miles.

I bought a new 2017 Limited for my daughter. It's been in and out of the dealership 6 times for mechanical over 36000 real easy miles. Now it's 800 miles out of warranty and the trouble continues. SVC 4wd warning just appeared. Car is in Socal and it's never been used anywhere near off-road. Looks like I will get this issue fixed and punt for a different car as it looks like a never ending list of problems ahead. I've bought Chrysler vehicle my whole life but that will be the last one.

I absolutely loved my 2017 Jeep Cherokee. It has always been reliable with amazing safety features. Recently I was involved in a horrible tbone accident where the other driver crashed into my drivers side door. I was able to walk away with just a scratch from the seat belt! I’m always going to purchase jeeps from now on.

My wife drove a Jeep for years before totaling it an accident. We tried a Ford Focus (Titanium Ed.) but too many recalls soured us on it. After 20 months we traded for a 2017 Jeep Latitude, and we she couldn't be happier. I like that they decided to have some fun with Jeeps since our last 2004 model. We have found a Sasquatch, and several Jeep or Jeep Logos hidden throughout the vehicle. It may seem a small thing but I like the fact they're embracing the brand, the customers, and having some fun along the way.

April 2017, I bought this suv. A extended warranty from head to toe on this suv is a must have! Around town under 20 mpg. 16,888 miles you heard wobble noise. the front end suspension was replaced. Under warranty. 37, 2600 engine started cutting out. Drove to dealer. Starter coil replaced. Extended warranty covered. I had to rent a car. Now the wobble noise has returned. Next week appt at a different dealership than I used in October. Update, 8/31, the front tires bearings replaced. Now my fbrake petals are up higher. Nope back bearings not replaced. And suv has same or similar wobble noises again. Yes I will return to dealwrzhip to check the problem. I regret buying this 2017 Cherokee. The radio turns on when I start car is a DUM feature. AC air flow for back seat is not strong.
