Total Regret 2014 Jeep Cherokee
My husband and I purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee in April of 2016. It had about 34,000 miles on it. We started having issues in July. The vehicle would experience complete loss of power, and the transmission wouldn't downshift when you went downhill. The dealership said this was happening due to low oil - even though my dashboard showed 30% oil life remaining. Fast forward to October. We drove the Jeep out of town for a wedding. We were driving home on a Sunday, and attempted to merge onto the interstate. My husband accelerated, and the Jeep suddenly stopped accelerating and warning lights came on the dashboard. Luckily, we made it home. I called the dealership on 10/24 and brought my Jeep out there. On the drive to the dealership, I experience complete loss of power while in traffic. I ended up having to use the 'Towing Assistance' feature (which works wells by the way). It is now November 14th. I've been in contact with Chrysler and the dealership. The vehicle needs a new engine, plus they're taking care of the transmission recall. Going to request a buyback at this point. I don't trust the Jeep brand any longer.
2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD
I needed a mid-size family SUV and did a ton of research. I opted for a fully loaded Cherokee Limited with luxury/convenience/UConnect/V6 package. This is the only vehicle in its class where I really liked the blend of exterior and interior design. The ride is very comfortable, ventilated seats work like a charm especially since I live in Phoenix and the temperatures are 100+ degrees six months out of the year. The dash board is simple yet offers a ton of features and is veary easy to use. The navigation is excellent, satellite radio, all that. I loaded all my music on a 64GB SD card.

Poor Quality and Reliability
My Jeep is now just over 3 months old (4k miles) and has visited the dealership with major problems twice. First, the transmission shifts in low gears are terrible; not what you would expect from a new vehicle. A software updated reduced, but did not fix the issue. Second, the electrical system in the car is suspect. It went haywire on me. The windshield wipers turned on and couldn't be stopped, the turn signals went out and the odometer was flashing non-stop. Of course, by the time I reached the dealership it was asymptomatic, so I was basically told, to bad, bring it back broken. Hopefully next time the electrical goes out nothing more serious occurs. Buyer beware on this vehicle.
Never Again
I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 3.2L and in less than 2 years of owning it I've had several major repairs done. As of today, the car has $99,000 miles on it (I purchased it with $65,000 miles on it) and I have had the following repairs done in the 20 months that I've owned the car...strut mounts (replaced twice) and struts, rear shift deferential replaced (one month after purchasing the car), left rear axle replaced and was told today that I now need a new transfer case for the transmission. My car has had about $4000 worth or repairs done in the less than 2 years that I have owned it. I have been fortunate that all but about $650 worth were covered under warranty, but covered or not, there is no reason I should need these types of major repairs done with less than $100,000 miles on the vehicle. I will NEVER again purchase another Jeep product. Complete waste of my time and money! **Update: I ended up getting rid of my Cherokee and purchased a new 2019 Toyota 4-Runner which I love and more importantly, can depend on, unlike that hunk of junk Cherokee.

Owned many Jeeps...this is the best!
I love my new Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Limited. It is the 6 cylinder engine and has plenty of power. It seemed a little on the expensive side at the time of purchase but now I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is great. The leather interior looks rich. I have the blue and brown leather. The transmission is very smooth, and although it took some getting used to, I really like the design of the exterior.
