Used 2000 Jaguar XJ-Series Consumer Reviews
2000 XJ8
I purchased my Jag used with 38000 miles. The car has stunning lines and great styling. It's amazingly small inside for a big car and sits very low to the ground - tall or heavy people may not like the size. I have had a couple of maintenance items in the six months I've owned that ended up costing quite a bit - I chalk these items to the cost of buying a used car. The car also has a tendency to rattle - especially from the dash area. The Pirelli tires also seem to be susceptible to flat spotting rather quickly. All in all, I am very pleased with the car - it's got great style, stellar ride and performance, and as a used car, great value.
MY 1999 JAGUAR VANDEN PLAS
My experience with the 99 Jag has been excellent. No major problems, few minor ones. Service always good. It has been what I think a classic auto should be in all respects.
1999 XJ8L Solid Car
Car was purchased in 2003 just turned four years old with 28,000 miles, interior and exterior were in perfect shape and remain so today even after being driven all through the winters in Buffalo NY, the last six years. Only problem with the car in all that time was a timing chain tensioner went bad and was expensive to repair. All told it has been the best car I have ever owned and with only 81,000 miles it still has a long way to go.
1999 Jaguar
I have in the past 20 years owned 14 vehicles mostly cars, and a few suv's and pickup trucks. I have owned a few American cars, and the others, imports from either Japan, Germany, and now England(UK). The Jaguar is by far the finest,in it's boldly elequent body design, and equally handsome leather interior. The performance is second to none with power in reserve at all ranges, and the ride and cornering are perfectly suited for a premium sedan. Surely the Very Best of the best.
Great car, but can I rely on it?
Great car on the highway...smooth as silk and good overall handling. Takes a while for the tires to warm up and smooth out though. It's not as agile as the German cars, but I knew this when I bought it...just miss this sometimes. With only 36000 miles, I would expect more reliability and fewer quirky repairs.
