I have owned and still own several Honda Vehicles 1st time purchasing an SUV I will NEVER get another one! I brought my 2018 pilot touring straight off the show room floor. Within 1st few months sometimes it will sound like the truck was shifting gears and I couldn't get it to move! it will go into park I would have to apply breaks cut off car to see if it would reset itself and it would. I called get no where calling Honda it was almost like it was an operator issue. It's been going on I have always took my truck to Honda for service nothing ever come about. I will do the reg. Standard repairs. This went on for a while I was told until I get a light unfortunately Honda would not be able to tell me what's wrong. It was time for timing belt and water pump to be fixed again advise Honda of the problem was told wait to see if you get a light if I fixed the timing belt and water pump I way be back because they couldn't find the problem. Few month later I get a check engine light they says it's a transmission flush 😳! That was coved under warranty! Ok one week later car still doing same thing! Few more days pass truck will not start! They said it was the battery! That battery I had was not even 2 years old. Got that replaced. I had to go out of town soon as I got back in town on the exit ramp when I hit breaks car would not move! Engine light comes on! Truck only move in reverse! Had to be towed home on a Sunday and retow again when Honda was open that Monday! Now I'm advised my transmission is gone and my warranty expired 6 months ago! I'm beyond upset and displeased with Honda. I feel like I was not taking seriously and now I'm being taken for a ride by Honda. Is so sad all the money Honda get they are still taken advantage of customer's. As I read the reviews Im.not the only one who has experience this issue Im.still waiting on some answers! Honda you must do better! Listen to your customers this is an issue that is costing me over $7,000.no help.from Honda!:-(

For size, comfort, features and comforts, and price point - the jonda Pilot is top of it's class. Coming from a 2018 Honda CR- V, to a 2021 Ridgeline, to now a 2018 Honda Pilot Elite. I wish I had skipped the middle men and went straight to a Pilot. The only down side in my mind is the engine is lacking in power, but makes up for it in fuel efficiency. Overall, out of many SUV options I test drove, I ultimately went with the Pilot for the Overall value and do not regret it.

Garbage SUV, literally, buy anything else. DEADLY.

I hate to be the one to say it, but this is a garbage SUV and probably one of the worst Honda's ever sold to the public. How do I know? Well, until this model, I had been a huge Honda fan boy. I purchased a super clean, certified used Pilot with less than 40k on the clock. I thought I would happily drive it until it died at 300k (as I have several past Honda models). Well, that was not the case. Not long after purchase of the car the torque converter started having issues. For those of you on the thread that know, you know. They first few times that Honda "changed" the transmission fluid were on the house, since it was a new car. Maybe a year into ownership it became my responsibility. This model is WELL KNOWN to have transmission cooling issues and not from towing, just driving around. The heaviest thing I ever towed was a 500lbs motorcycle in a 750lbs trailer. My Pilot would cook the transmission fluid every 20k. Honda knows about this problem well and the dealerships will tell you all about it. They recommend a "change" of fluid every 20k, but they don't really change it. They drain the pan, which is maybe 30% of the fluid (the rest remains in the torque converter), hence you are running burnt fluid most of the time in your car. My transmission (which literally had better maintenance than 95% of cars) blew apart at 70k miles (I had done 4 "changes", and a whole flush in the 30k I had it). When the transmission died I was in Washington DC rush-hour traffic and while trying to exit to the break-down lane, I was rear-ended at high speed. My kids were in the car as well. We could have been killed. Why? Because of a transmission problem that Honda has known about for years and refused to recognize, fix, or even inform owners about. SO... DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. CAR. It could cost you or others their lives. You want something reliable? Buy a Toyota.

Surprised at the fuel economy. On a 2500 mile trip averaged 29 MPG. In town not as good, but it is a heavy vehicle.

Our 3rd Honda-drove our 2006 Pilot for 187,500 miles and bought 2018 this past December-have 1273 miles so far and very much like the room, visibility, comfort, styling and new electronics. Wish the front seats were a little ,wider more "plush"(and we are not large people). Honda is reliable.
