Never thought I would love a minivan

This is the ultimate family vehicle. Honda has thought of everything with this car. It makes mom life easier with alot of hands free features like the kick open tailgate and the doors that open with the fob. The magic side seats are a back saver if you have little ones in car seats. The ride is smooth and it has a lot of get up and go when you punch the gas. I never thought I would love a minivan but this is seriously the best vehicle I have ever owned.

AC doesn't cool at all

This is the worst AC I have ever seen. This is a brand new 2023. This vehicle has all the family friendly features but the AC is the sbsolute worst I have ever seen. The poor kids in the third row latterly have sweat running into their eyes. HONDA you say this is such a great family friendly vehicle then you need to address AC.

This van is awesome! It's quiet, rides like a luxury car, is loaded with electronics (it's just the EX-L!), and is really quick and fun to drive. We bought it in May of 2021 and just turned over 25k miles and have had no problems. The only glitch is that the adaptive cruise sometimes overreacts in curves when a car in the adjacent lane gets too close to their lane marker and the van taps the brakes. This happens seldom but it can be annoying when it does. Still, we really enjoy this van and love taking it on trips. The full range adaptive cruise is also great in heavy and slow bumper-to-bumper traffic as the van almost drives itself, even coming to a stop and taking off again on it's own. Sometimes I almost forget I'm the one who's driving! This is our 4th Odyssey (2002, 2007, 2019, 2022) and we'll probably trade again for the 2025 when it arrives. I considered a Pacifica but we rented a Pacifica for a business trip once and drove it for about 1800 miles and, while the Pacifica is a nice van, it simply doesn't measure up to the quality and reliability of the Honda. I hope Honda sticks with the V6 engine rather than follow what Toyota did with the new Sienna (went hybrid only), which I've heard is a disaster due to the loud and underpowered 4 cylinder lawn mower engine the Sienna has. The Odyssey V6 is smooth, quiet, and quick.

great van, quick acceleration, comfortable, smooth ride and roomy. This is my 2nd odyssey. First one was a 2022 ex-L great van only one issue -radio would make a buzz noise every once in a while. This one (2023) touring model, we had an Navigation issue --stuck loading Map--issue fix!!! (software update) Overall an excellent product hope to keep this for many years the only complaint is gas milage is not great 16mpg avg ---mostly short trips 4-5 miles (stop and go traffic)hwy 25mpg----nice product, love the van life!

First time in a Honda

This is the 8th van that I have owned. The first being a 1963 model year. They have come a long way in 60 years. I have owned Ford Chevy Mercury and Dodge vans and have been driving them for most of my 52 Years of driving. When I first started looking I had my mind on a Chrysler Pacifica. That Idea ended when I found out they did not have a spare tire and there was not place to put one. A spare tire is very important to me and I would never buy a vehicle without one. After back to researching I looked at the Odyssey. It had a spare tire so that meant a trip to my local dealer to see what a Odyssey was about. I was impressed at the looks inside and out so I took one for a test ride. I liked the way it handled and it was so much quieter then the Grand Caravan I was presently driving. So the next day I was the owner of a Odyssey sport. I have driven this about 7000 in the 5 1/2 months I have owned it and so far I am very happy with it. It handles great and is very comfortable and quiet. With being the first Honda I have owned It did take a little getting use to the controls because every manufacturer does some things a little different. I was careful of the color I picked because my neighbors on each side of me both have a Honda Odyssey so I had to pick a color in between. The only complaint I have about the Odyssey so far is the cruise control and not keeping a consistent speed. Yes is will slow down if I get close to a vehicle in front of me. That is not what I am talking about. If I set the cruise for 70 It will be anywhere between 68 and 72 and there will not be a car in sight. It will not hold a steady speed where it is set. It can go from 68 to 72 in a very short time. This is the first time I have ever had this problem. In the past if I had the cruise set it might slow down 1 mph if I was going up a hill. This slow downs and speeds up going up or down a hill or even on flat land. A minor problem but does get very frustrating at times. Especially if I am in the right lane and someone is passing me and all of a sudden it starts to speed up. There was also one time when I was driving along and all of a sudden it quickly slowed down from 65 to 55 for no reason in a couple of seconds. I was happy no one was right behind me. Other then that It has been a great vehicle and I would highly recommend it. I just wish the center seats would fold down into the floor like the 3rd row. But for the most part it has all the room need.

Great but needs more….

I was trying to hold off for the 2024 because of the rumors of a redesign and possible hybrid but circumstances had me shop early. I’m okay with it! I got the Touring trim and the parking sensors and blind spot alerts are great. It has great power to drive on the crazy streets of Houston and the highway MPG is averaging 26-28, but the city driving is 18-19 MPG. Overall average after 8000 miles is 21 MPG. The interior is nice with the leather and a great feeling steering wheel. The steering wheel controls are easy to use and convenient. I don’t see a purpose for the paddle shift controls. The Touring also comes with “Cabin Watch” that allows me to see the little ones in the back seats from my main console screen. I think the kids like that more than I do! My favorite feature is the middle row seats! You can remove the center seat and slide the two outer seat together. It gives some room on either/both sides for 3rd row entry and I’m a big fan of that. Plenty of interior room for the family! The downside to it all would be that I’m 6’2” and it’s just enough legroom in the driver seat for me to be happy with. The seat sits as a funny angle that makes my hips tight after long trips but not too much to complain about. Lastly, the exterior of the van is questionable. I leaned on the sliding door while pumping gas one day and felt the body dent in. Luckily it didn’t stay dented and it popped back into place but it did worry me for a moment. I hope it’s designed to do that. Overall, great van so far and Honda is very reliable. Plenty of power and no lag. I average 350/365 miles per tank without going into fuel reserve. The middle row needs a little more leg room but the theirs row is spacious and my older kids no longer complain about leg room (compared to my previous SUV).

Honda is not quality like it was. Expensive service schedule and Honda still uses dinosaur designs, such as timing belts. Some dealers are unable to repair anything more than super basic stuff, even after days of repeat visits. For quality, reliability, MPG, and cost to own..... only choice is a Sienna... Sorry the truth hurts, but the Odyssey ain't what we hoped for, and paid a premium price, for.

Very comfortable and easy to drive. I use a walker and it is low to the ground and easy put my walker in and easy for me to get in. The main reason I got it , it has all the safety features that you could imagine and the warranty can’t be beat.

At 32,000 miles all kinds of technology issues. Random sensors go off when nothing is around. Brakes randomly engage during driving nearly causing accidents, phone system is terrible, and I am blamed for not buying extended warranty.

Passenger Door Failing

Our 2023 Honda Odyssey Touring passenger door failed to latch upon closing the door. The latch looked normal upon visual inspection. Engaging the central lock/unlock of the car corrected the issue. However, this is a SAFETY issue that Honda needs to looked.

It doesn't get any better than a minivan for roadtrips and hauling kids to school and back. Our odyssey is spacious, and has a ton of power. You can easily pass cars, and merge on the highway, even with a ton of gear. When everyone's buying SUVs these days, there's really a lot more a minivan can do.

The steering seemed a little loose and breaks take a little getting used to! I didn't like the limited access to the battery or the spare tire which wasn't a full size tire also the space for the tire could not accommodate a full size tire should one choose to get one. No roof rack and very high price!

Comfort Focus

The Honda Odyssey's focus on comfort and ease of use is astonishing. Everything from the seats, to the layout of the controls, to the placement of lights is excellent. We bought this late on a Saturday and the kids were losing it. We calmed them down and broke out the entertainment center far sooner than we expected. Opening the center console we found that there was a light inside the container to that helped us find a DVD during the dark. The gas mileage isn't as great as a hybrid, but for what we could afford daily life with kids was so much easier. The Power Tailgate on this model helps with groceries. We put all three kids in the middle seats and lowered the back to give an incredible amount of storage for groceries and strollers together. Its a great and comfortable vehicle where it is clear decades of thoughts have gone into what families with multiple kids need.
