Back to Senior Luxury
We had a 2008 Honda Odyssey ExL. From there we went to a Nissan Quest Van. It was comfortable but not the same vehicle as the Honda. Less room in the back and hard for passengers to get into the 3rd row. Then we went to a Nissan Murano, an SUV. Nice car but felt cramped in the cockpit. Large enter console and we felt trapped. Now, this pair of 85-year-olds went back to the Honda Odyssey. Easy entry for these old folks, I just had my right knee replaced. Wide open area in the front, no console plenty of room and lots of cubbies to store stuff. Back to heated seats, used them today. We are very happy to back in a Honda and in an Odyssey. Our life is an Odyssey.

somewhat dated, but still a winner
I've owned Hondas and Acuras for 27 years. Currently own a 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTS with only 83K miles, and it's rock solid. Traded in a leased 2015 Subaru Outback to lease this Odyssey SE and give us more room for interstate travelling. After 10,400 miles the reviews are excellent. Just finished an 8,700 mile trip over 35 days from NC throughout Canada , Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, and the Odyssey performed very well. Even with a lot of mountain driving, stop and go sightseeing and 75 mph interstate driving, it averaged exactly 26 mpg, loaded down with significant luggage. I particularly like the front seat comfort, ride, handling and steering. It's certainly more comfortable, more responsive and less thirsty than my Ridgeline, and it drives like a late model Accord. I know the 2018 Odyssey was redesigned, but so far I'm fully satisfied with my 2017 model.

BUYER BEWARE-MONEY PIT
So in September of 2020 I finally got my Honda Odyssey (certified pre owned). We took it in a couple weeks back for scheduled maintenance, only to be told the rack and pinion was leaking (no big deal, just the STEERING).....and would be $3K to fix. Bumper to bumper warranty expired, and it was not covered under the power train. No big deal, I will just reach out to corporate (as instructed) to see what they will do. NOTHING. Why? Because I have "Only owned two Hondas", and we did not to take our CERTIFIED PRE OWNED in for all kinds of work during a PANDEMIC. SO BUYER BEWARE. Honda does NOT care about their customers, or the quality of parts they put on their vehicles. So if you aren't interested in spending $3K to replace parts before you 50K miles, DO NOT BUY
Thanks edmonds
I got a better deal because I went on your site

Disapointed
Bought new 2017 in Dec. 2016. Had 2000 EX that from the outset had transmission problems so at only 135,000 miles I bought a new EX Odyssey. The Fabric on the seats is the worst looking and feeling and why would Honda put Beige in a Van ? , shows dirt along with Beige plastic rails at the doors and ? . The Engine has some type of system ECO which is very JERKY and can not be turned off . The gas mileage is around 16 not 19 like advertised ! I Got much better mileage on the 2000 EX ! The WORST, CONFUSING, Radio system to set too much information !!! And the DRIVER'S SEAT electric does not go back far enough, at the most BACK position anyone driving that is taller than 5'7" would HATE this VAN, Honda really screwed this car up. Will most likely get rid of it with in 2 yrs.. Took all the HEAD RESTs off so I can see out.

Sturdy drive with issues
Hondas are known as sturdy vehicles, but there are issues. It's V6 engine makes a ticking sound from time to time. Sometimes the Start sequence is accompanied by a "air compressor" type sound and a clunk on the front right side of vehicle. Just started this recently at 80,000 mi. From nearly the beginning; the drivers side electric window makes a crunching sound when it goes up. Also, a sound that I simply cannot find that sounds like something bumping around inside the right rear body of passenger compartment; the whole time you are driving the vehicle. I treat my Odyssey extremely well and the "so-called leather on whatever you touch may not be true". The drivers side arm rest on the door has split apart and it seems to be an imitation leather vinyl or something; didn't hold up It handles well on curves and holds its position in the lane with a sturdy feel; yet there is a slight vibration in the steering. Not sure I will buy another one as the price has gone up quite a bit; and quality has gone down. as usual.

Overall happ
The gas mileage for a regular gas engine is unmatched. I really enjoyed driving it. We’ve owned it for 4 years. I’m at 110,000 miles and I’m starting to have to do fixes here and there. We did the motor mounts and now have to do the timing belt tensioner. My only complaint for the odyssey is the mechanics say it is hard to work on a Honda because everything is so close together
