Bought this new. Had a noise coming from the front strut at 10K miles. Took it to the dealership and they performed service bulletin 11-038, that fixed the problem for another 10K until the noise came back. Took it back to the dealership and they fix it again. Another 15K or so and the noise came back. Took it back to the dealership, now they found they have to change the struts. Car out of warranty, Honda made me paid for the repair, although it had been documented that this was a problem and they even had a service bulletin out. Do some research and see how many service bulletins there are. I guess 2011 wasn't a good year for Odysseys, and Honda won't stand by their products.

In one sentence? So far, so good. In five years of ownership, we've followed the maintenance minder religiously, changing stuff as needed. Replaced rear brakes at 45k and 95k, fronts at 41k and about due for another round. Did the 'midlife crisis' maintenance to replace the timing belt and water pump at 105k for $1,100 or so. We're on our third set of tires. No transmission issues so far. I guess what I'm saying is we've had a totally normal, boring ownership experience. Our Ody has provided great gas mileage (16 city and 27 hwy) and we've schlepped our family of five, family of five plus in-laws, the whole baseball team, etc. with no problem. Funny how our kids will never experience 'ten kids in a Buick Skylark going to the roller rink' (progress?). Pros: Great power, comfort, handling, easy to park, and man can this thing swallow stuff. Dressers, bikes, beds, you-name-it. Our neighbor with a Chevy Tahoe has asked us for help hauling stuff for him. Cons: The driver's side seat heat never really worked after 42k miles and we have the clicky-sound people have complained about in the steering. Also, if you have a narrow single-car garage door, watch your mirrors! It's no Mini-Cooper. Bottom line, if you need a mini-van and still have a burning desire for something that sort-of handles, this is the vehicle you're seeking. Jan 2019 Update: Couple of issues have arisen, but at 130k and mechanically solid, we're still really happy. Had a failure where the master cylinder was losing brake fluid into the brake booster ($1,200 dollar repair) and from a wear-and-tear standpoint, the shifter and armrest in the driver and passenger seats aren't wearing well. Jan 2022: We're currently at 156k and we're likely to part ways soon. Replaced shocks and struts at around 140k, had a grounding issue with our drivers high-beam that took a good bit of troubleshooting to fix, passenger axle CV joint is starting to make noise, etc. The allow rims are pretty salt corroded and the bluetooth is a crapshoot these days. FWIW, it's been a fantastic vehicle, but it's getting to that point where we're throwing a few thousand at it every year to keep on the road and will be looking for something else. This van got us through raising our family and it did a great job. 176k update. We made one last family road trip and the Ody performed flawlessly. But... the cables broke on both doors (making them manual doors), power steering rack has play in it that tells us that should probably be replaced, and our passenger CV joint is finally hosed. Traded in and I imagine it will be wholesaled and crushed due to the reconditioning costs. All said, great family hauler but the minivan chapter of our life is over. My final recommendation is to unload around 160-170k miles based on our experience.

We've owned Hondas since the 70's. This is by far the nicest, smoothest riding, quietest, vehicle we have ever owned. There is no problem at all merging into traffic, and there are no blind spots. We love the little wing window, the sterio is so easy to use. I can drive all day in these comfy seats. So much room for storage. I see where there are a few complaints with the exterior design, we find that funny. The exterior design, in our opinion is simply beautiful. Honestly, really take a good look at this van and compare it to others. I'll take this over the others in a heart beat. My brother and his wife said it's like riding in a luxury car. We have to agree. Drive one!

The ride is very smooth and the van feels so solid, it really feels like you are driving an Acura. We got the EXL to get a ton of goodies and nothing too frivilous. I can't consider $2k for nav when I need it once a year and can buy an aftermarket for $200. And I don't want my kids watching DVDs the second they get in the car. The EXL has tons of great features; my favorite being the CD Library -- it'll record about 400 songs from your CDs to a hard drive. The safety is top notch, great crash test, large rear view camera is very comforting. We've been averaging 24 mpg in mild weather -- no A/C. It's the only minivan you can fit 2 carseat and a Granni in the middle row. :)

Needing a vehicle that carried more than 5 adults comfortably, I started my search focused on third-row comfort, as differences in comfort for first- and second-row passengers in current minivans are minimal. An owner of German cars, I first looked at the new M-B R class but found it's third row lacking (and I have not found M-B reliability to be the best). A fan of good car design, I next looked at the Ford Flex. It was a real possibility. But then I test drove a Honda Odyssey and found myself sitting in the most comfortable interior -- in any position -- of any vehicle I have ever encountered.

It's a LUXURY Car!

Many owners are parents who looked for a minivan and liked the Odyssey's features. Our kids are grown, no grandkids yet, and I'm a businessman. We wanted a luxury car that would seat up to 8 adult family members or haul bikes or kayaks inside it. We got it all. We relied on owner/reviewers in Edmunds who often mentioned "comfort," "quiet," "room," "ride" and "handling." We bought the Touring Elite, but any model from EX-L up is a luxury car. The truffle interior on ours is dark grey/brown that has a rich look but also will hide dirt and marks. Every detail has been thought out and designed to be practical. The amount of technology is incredible. Chose it over Sienna and Enclave.

2011 Odyssey Still Has Front Brake Rotor Issues

This is a Love - Hate Relationship... Love the Fuel Economy (31.9 mpg at 64 mph Hwy). Hate that Honda actually advertised the fact that they "re-engineered" the Front Brake Rotors, yet at 11,850 miles, the Dealer (Honda Autopark in Cary,NC) replaced them due to "WARPING". The very same issue I had with my 2007 Odyssey! The front windshield had excessive distortion along a 5-6" band of the sides, so this was also replaced. Several of the bolt together body parts, fenders, etc. do not line up well at all (assembly issues), but have not addressed that yet. If you start having any vibration coming from the front-end of your Odyssey, have the brake rotors checked before 12,000 mile warranty.

Do NOT buy a 2011-12 Honda Odyssey without getting an extended warranty!!( I'm a previous mechanic). This mini van has had off and on problems..Mainly the steering and suspension, along with the climate control. My wife drives it only to drop off the kids to school, and a short distance to work- Florida. We bought it from a dealer in 2013... (31,000 miles)soon after the van would squeak and make noises upon turning. The dealer replaced almost the entire suspension under warranty. About 6 months later at 42,500 miles..the steering developed too much play in the wheel..steering pump, and other parts were replaced. The dealer stated it was the tires...however the Michelins were only 6 months old. Then during the following year, the a/c electrical unit in the dashboard had to be replaced, along with the timing belt earlier than recommended , due to the area leaking oil. Finally last month, there was knocking while going over bumps. At this point, I did not trust the dealer anymore, so I took it to Aamco for service. They said to take it back to the dealer because the front end damage was extensive. So the dealer again replaced the struts, and other parts of the front end. Apparently, the dealer never did the 4 wheel alignment properly. The van now has 87,000 miles on it..will it's problems ever end?? While driving on the highway...there is still too much play in the front end...more like for a car that has 150k miles on it..but what can we do?

We have replaced my wife's BMW 325i with the 2011 Odyssey EX-L for a few weeks but so far we are loving it. Touring is nice but EX-L seems to offer the most for the buck. The interior quality is fine (not as great as Quest but far better than Sienna). The exterior is quite subjective. We got some compliments in the parking lot, mostly from younger couples. My folks think the styling is too aggressive. I think the lighting bolt design is just fine.

Now over 181,000 miles on the car, I think I'm qualified to call the Odyssey a piece of Junk! The ticking sound a lot of people hear when turning the car; those are no doubt, defective CV shaft and joints. You just won't find out until you put more miles on the car. I took the car in at 5,000 miles because of the ticking; the dealer "lubricated" the front strut mounts? Between 12,000 and 93,000 miles, I had six (6) front brake jobs, including 3 rotor replacements. Turns out that quite possibly, the Dealer mechanics were not re-installing the rotors to proper specs, and they would warp in no time! Ever since taking it to my independent shop; Zero problems (brakes). Many other Defects!

After we had a third baby I started looking for something that would fit the entire family without hassle and would be pleasant to drive. I looked at the Sienna and the Odyssey. While Sienna wins in the exterior styling and available AWD option, nothing else comes even close to the craftsmanship, comfort and quality of the Odyssey. The material (especially hard plastic) used in Sienna are just terrible, even the top of the line model feels cheap. The Odyssey on the other hand is very well made. It feels and looks expensive. The ride quality and especially cornering is much better than Sienna. While Odyssey feels planted without much of a body roll, Sienna feels like a boat on wheels.

Hondas are over rated for some reason. I haven't faced any major issues with this minivan but it has a lot of minor issues. I bought it new in 2010 and keep all maintenance current. Cons: 1) Battery management system acted up within a few months of purchase. Honda updated the software and supposedly fixed the issue of constant system warning, but I think they just turned the system completely off. 2) Jerky transmission, just like the previous civic I owned. How can they keep rolling these out of factory with this issue and then issue crappy TSBs and expect me to pay for this non-sense? 3) Climate control has it's own mind. Full automated mode works well. AC is not obedient when used in manual mode. 4) Steering noise every 6 months and needs to be greased. 5) Battery drained completely when I left the key in ACC mode by mistake. I owned a 2011 Maxima and that was smart to shut off after 30 mins when engine not running to prevent battery drain. Why such a small battery and not put the biggest battery on this monster van? It has tons of power equipment which drain a lot. 6 ) Worst brakes I have ever experienced. Rotors warped quickly. Upgraded stoptech/brembo rotors worked much better. 7) Worst navigation system that has no touch screen and voice control is just primitive. Pros: 1) Hauls a lot of people and stuff. 2) Decent highway gas mileage. 3) Good highway ride (when tranny not shifting). 4) Seats are comfortable for long rides. Overpriced and overrated just because of it's brand I think. Lot of room for improvements. Honda is far behind in innovation and refinement. Their advanced features are far behind competition and designed poorly. I feel sorry to have dished out 40k on this and having to deal with all the crap from American Honda and their Stealerships. Hope this van runs for 6 more years without major issues as I got to live with the minor ones.

My first car was a Civic and enjoyed driving it for many years and had a very good impression with Honda's reliability. I also have friends and family who bought Odyssey (2002, 2007 and 2010 models) and all recommend it. When I shop for minivan, I was thinking between Sienna and Odyssey. Then, Honda announced a new 2011 model (Sienna is coming with new model in 2012),and I bought it 3 weeks ago. To my disappointment, the quality is very poor-- Third row (magic) seat doesn't fold down a few times. Second row seat doesn't lock in place after you adjust the seat, it slides. Entertainment system doesn't shutdown today even after I removed the key and lock the door. Honda dealer is not helpfu

We bought this mini van 2011 brand new and it was running good at first and when it reach 15,000 miles the problem started on steering and creaking noise on front right of the vehicle everytime it turns and third problem the battery only last for almost 3 years and needed to be replaced right away. Dealership ended up fixing the problem for us due to the car is still under warranty. Its unbelievable that on 15,000 miles you can hear this noise problem on your steering to think that we dont use our van on long driving just city driving and we take care of our vehicles very well and especially when it comes with the maintenance. And when it reached 30,000 miles the same problem came back again (steering noise) and it sucks because our vehicle is no longer under warranty and I can imagine how much money you gonna pay if you will fix that at the honda dealership. Now It makes me compare on the vehicles we have, we own 2007 4runner sport with a 107,000 miles on it and until now we never experienced any problem with that car especially the steering problem, no major issues, just need to change tires and thats it. Its just makes me think if we still gonna buy honda cars in the future, probably not. I dont mind paying more if your vehicle is reliable all the time like my other vehicles. Base on our experience were not really satisfied on the vehicle that we got due to its problem at very low mileage, our van is 5 years old now at 30,000 miles ( low mileage ) and it makes me think if honda are still gona take care of our problem. Its just not good enough.

I purchased the 2011 odyssey over the new sienna because of the ability to put 3 car seats across the middle seat. I have owned the car for 2 months have havd 600 miles on it. The low battery light has repeatedly come on. I have brought it to the dealer and Honda states this is normal and caused by taking multiple short trips, which, in my opinion, is normal minivan operation in a suburban environment. This is a common problem as reported on the internet (on edmunds forums and elsewhere) with many people reporting repeated visits to the dealership with no remedy from honda. Retrospectively, I should have purchased the Sienna. The car does have multiple nice interior features.

We bought this used from a Honda dealer, had 45k miles on it at the time. We took it to colorado that year, and it shook violently when braking. I grew up driving the mountains, and I downshift, the brakes or discs were bad when sold to us. We took it back to the dealer, and after being told they fixed it, took it back home, but still a small vibration just on local highways. Within a year, it started knocking on small bumps. The warranty was out, and it cost over 4000 to repair whatever that was. We are at 117k miles now, so we had the timing belt and other maintenance done for various sensors that were going bad, new belts, etc, another 4800. Somewhere in there I have replaced the same spark plug 3 times, and 2 oxy sensors. Now it is shaking the steering wheel violently at 60 mph. And we just had a front end alignment done before that started. A few weeks ago, the cable motor that pulls sliding door got stuck in open position, couldn't close the door, had to remove the hinge, found the pulley was eaten up by the cable. Frankly, I'm concerned with keeping this money pit much longer.

Purchased new and had banging transmission problem and stranded around 20K miles. After 2 weeks of Honda being unable to determine underlying cause of problem, the transmission was replaced with a rebuilt. I found it concerning that they had rebuilt transmissions already for this new model of transmission when it needed replaced. Second transmission made it twice as long and started having rough shifting problems. Replaced again at 60K miles just before end of warranty. Lucky due to timing, but unlucky with transmissions on this vehicle. Don't get a touring with the 6 speed because they don't know why this keeps happening. Otherwise, enjoy the vehicle.

We just reached 16,000 miles on our 2011 Odyssey and I have mixed feelings. The modern conveniences such as the XM radio, rear view camera, heated seats, and hands free phone are nice. It has smooth, quiet acceleration and handles much better than our 2006 Sienna did. The interior is well designed and it proved to be comfortable on a recent trip from NY to Florida. However, the front brake rotors have had issues and recently had to be resurfaced by the dealer. This isn't the first time I've experienced brake problems with a Honda vehicle, but it may be the last. The Sienna we traded in for this vehicle had 96,000 miles on it and never had any rotor issues. Fix the brakes Honda!!!

Our 2011 EX-L has a peculiar safety issue: Both my wife and I have driven off with one of the side doors open. Other than a small red door adjar symbol in the instrument panel, there is no other notable warning to the driver. It seems there should be a high-pitch audible warning or even the inablility to shift into Drive since the danger is so great if a side door is not fully closed, esp. if there are children or other passengers in the middle seats.

We just purchased the 2011 Odyssey Touring on Oct 16. We decided earlier this year to go with the Odyssey over the Sienna (only 2 minivans to offer 8 passenger seating) primarily because of step back Toyota took when they made the 8th seat (center in center row) so much smaller than in the previous '10 model. We were very surprised that Toyota did not build on this feature but rather made it a lot worse. Since we have 6 kids we really need 8 real seats - which the '11 Odyssey has. Further, we need a minimum of 4 latch positions, the Sienna only has 3 (down from 4 in last model - another step back). The Odyssey has 5 latch positions. We also like the looks inside and outside. It looks sleek.

I have two Honda Odysseys a 2011 elite and a 2005 touring. Honda dealerships will not stand behind either one. The 2005 has problems with needing a motor mount due to virbration from variable cylindar management system. Had tires for life if I had maintenance done at the dealer. Went through 4 sets of michelins. None got over 30,000 miles. Honda made dealers by a 30,000 tire changing machine and my tires (free for life started costing me 340 dollars for each new set. Bought a service contract from Honda dealer and after two years had to replace two windshields. The policy (and after market warranty) did not cover OEM parts. Now I own a Hybrid part Honda and part Aftermarket crap. Having strut problems; not covered. Now at 104,000 miles I am having a third transmission installed. The first gave up the ghost about a year ago. It was under warranty. But due to the warranty Conyers Honda Dealer sold me (a very poor aftermarket, not a Honda Care Warranty, I am getting a third transmission from the same outfit that supplied the the second transmission that failed after 2,000 miles. I am still having trouble finding out if my air bags in the 2011 are defective. This trip back to get the third transmission I am going to revisit the brake caliper problem that I was having at 60-80 thousand mile. Buffiting when putting the brakes on at high speed. They stated that they replaced the caliper. It did not fix the problem and was never fixed. I have had the rotors turned twice and so that's not it. So the question becomes did they really replace the caliper. Each time the warranty company supplies a rebuilt transmission it takes an inordinate amount of time, weeks. Thanks for allowing me to post. I hope this helps someone.

This one does it all. No, it does not handle like a sports car nor does it get the mileage of a hybrid, but if you need the space for 8 people and still like a respectable 30 mpg while cruising at 70 mph, then it does what it needs to do. Like a circus clown car, the outside dimensions and driving experience do not begin to tell the full story about just how much space is inside and how much you can do with it. The Honda Odyssey gives you all the minivan benefits while offering the least "minivan like" package.

This car has not given us an ounce of concern, & besides routine maintenance, only expense was a battery replacement after 50 months! It's paid off, garaged & in perfect condition inside & out, but empty nest mama needs less room & fun to travel & for errands!

Too many problems that Honda cannot fix. Tried 6 times still can't fix them, so they have now determined 'normal'. It is normal for the AC to turn on by itself. It is normal for it to start vibrating as if going over rumble strips. It is normal for the front end to make grinding noises. It is normal for 'Low Battery' message to come on all the time. By the way, when vibration gets very bad, I've lost throttle response - cannot accelerate. Has happened three times. Only 6000 kms on vehicle. Wish I bought Toyota Sienna or Dodge would have been better. This is my third and last new Honda vehicle. Customer service has been pathetic. Don't buy this lemon on wheels!

I test drove a tan LX that I loved and was fun to drive. I purchased a different one for a better price and it does not seem at all like the one I tested (yes, they were both LX's) Mine has 4K miles on it and the SVT traction sensor has gone bad. The cheap plastic used in construction scratches/dents easily and leaves white gouges. I can move the dashboard with my hand. The city gas mpg is more around the 12-13 mark than the 19 stated by the EPA. I have found the controls awkward. The van is very bumpy, the ECO light constantly goes on and off and I can feel the shifting when this happens, and it does not have very much power. Overall, wish I had purchased the Sienna

The new Honda Odyssey is absolutely fantastic to own and drive. We had owned the 1999 Odyssey and drove it for 9-years, loving it. The new Odyssey is improved in every way. The ride is very comfortable even on long trips. The way the middle seats can be adjusted, including sliding outward toward each door is very innovative and allows for up to three child seats side-by-side if needed. We also have a 2011 Buick Enclave which has been excellent, but I enjoy the features and overall driving characteristics better in the Honda.

I've had my 2011 Ody for 4 months, mileage 10, 052 miles, this has truely been a Love/ Hate Relationship! You see my vehicle has been to the Service Department for various reasons more times than I care to remember, when you start to know your Service Advisors on a 1st name basis something is truely wrong! 1st I had multiple issues with the bluetooth requiring replacement of the Hands Free Module, requiring multiple trips before it was resolved, also I'm a big man, the seat trim repeatedly continues to break as it's held together by plastic clips a poor design, everone that buys a minivan is not going to be a 100lb Soccer Mom, Now I've developed a creaky sound in the front of the vehicle!!!

We spent so much time hemming and hawing over which van to buy. Sienna vs. Odyssey. I did NOT like the exterior styling of the 2011 Odyssey. But it's grown on me a little. To me, the Sienna has and still has nicer exterior styling. After test driving it and sitting in all 3 rows, I had to go with the Odyssey. Odyssey is smoother shifting, handles better and is more comfortable inside. The plastics and cloth seems to be higher quality than the Sienna, also. This car is fun to drive. Really drives like a car. I had a mid-sized SUV (2WD) before this and Odyssey blows it away not only in power but handling!

Bought new in Feb. 2011. It now has 12500 miles combined city and highway. This Honda shifts erratically and down shifts with a jerk. The transmission seems to be searching for the correct gear way too much. It has poor low end torque from a stop light and will occasionally not react when I step on the gas; scary when proceeding through a 4 way stop. I took it to the dealer 2 times but upon their road test said it was acting normally. Very noisy on interstate roads but quiet in town. I owned 2 Toyota Sienna's before; one had 157,000 miles and the other had 218,000 miles. No problems with either one. I went with Honda this time because Toyota was going through some quality control problems.

Bought 2011 Odyssey brand new and had multiple problems from the start. After receiving so many recommendations from family and friends, we were sold on Honda in general and the Odyssey in particular. Thats why we bought it two weeks before our firstborn arrived(at a premium no less-34k base model). Almost immediately we heard the infamous steering noises. They never left(even after multiple dealer visits). Then, the brakes warped regularly(every 10k miles). The spark plugs and ignition coils had to be replaced before time$750(90k miles) and their premature failure managed to ruin the catalytic converter$1100 despite their immediate replacement. Thats not counting normal maintenance and "wear & tear" items: timing belt and water pump$1050@105kmiles, master cylinder$800@125k miles,alternator$780@132kmiles,front struts$575@148kmiles. Even after babying the car(religious Mobil 1 FullSyn Oil Changes, All type of reg filter changes, Annual NuFinish polishings, and garage storage we got this money pit. Its like we never stopped making car payments despite paying it off years ago! STAY AWAY!!!

Love the new Honda Odyssey. I traded my 2006 Honda in for the new 2011 Touring in black. Looks awesome and super sleek in black. Since purchasing this new Honda I have had NOTHING but compliments from strangers admiring the new look of the Honda. The reviews I read were somewhat negative of the new body but when you see it in person it looks so much better and the black color looks the best. I have three kids so space and safety are important to me. I feel super safe toting my kids in the new Honda. It drives like a dream and the interior is sleek yet simple. I noticed that it DOES not have roof racks and it bothered me at first but now I'm happy without them.

This is my first and only minivan. I went into the dealership to purchase a Honda Pilot based on liking my friend's so much. Well, the new model rode so rough I changed my mind. Well, the salesman slid me right into an Odyssey...I loved everything about it! I was shocked how much I immediately liked it! I drove it for quite some time that day. It even got two thumbs up from my son who easily gets car sickness in the third row. The room, the comfort (except for the ill angled head rests), the power doors and lift gate, the roominess in the 2nd and 3rd rows, the flexibility of the technology, the large cargo space.....everything. I loved it so much I did some quick research on my phone then I completely tossed aside my stigma of driving a minivan and signed the papers. The only technical difficulties I have had have been the driver's side sliding door can be temperamental and the lift gate sometimes doesn't go down automatically when button is depressed. Both issues have been extremely intermittent and are an annoyance. It does have more road noise than I was used to as well. I have had no problems other problems listed by others. I have replaced the tires and the battery. However, I will say the driver's seat has become increasing uncomfortable for me. It started with the test drive when I noticed the oddly angled head 'restraints', certainly not rests, and thought I could get used to them....NOPE. The seat has grown increasingly uncomfortable for me despite any of the adjustments I have made. I have since learned I do have back problems, unrelated to the seat, but it sure didn't help. Let me say I have owned a large variety of cars/trucks '68-2011; Chevy, Ford, Landcruiser, Saturn, VW, Lincoln, and Dodge. I can say this is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat in. It is causing me to look at a trade in due to the seat however, I learned this angle is a recent Federal mandate in hopes of lessening whiplash. I have a feeling I'll be looking at used 2011 and older. It pains me to let go due to sentimental attachment and how well this van still fits our family but the pain has got to go. I had planned on driving it until the wheels fall off! Until then, I will continue to use my supportive and corrective seat and back support pillows. Two friends have purchased the exact same vehicle, are much shorter than 5'6'' and have had the same complaints: sore back, leg numbness, tailbone pain, and general discomfort so while I have back trouble this does point to an uncomfortable driver's seat.

I will say we love the Odyssey and are disappointed at the same time. To say we have had issues is understatement. The ONLY plus was the largest issue was covered by Honda as a known issue.....otherwise it would probably have been 2-3k. But the fact they knew this type of engine and the shutting off of a valve during cruising has caused many issues, they STILL are using it. Have also had multiple sensors "go bad" that are related to issue but we had to pay hundreds of dollars to fix. Honda was always known for reliability and quality. This is not the same Honda company I grew up loving. Check Consumer reports for Honda reliability and you will see year after year they are getting worse. Had a friend with a Honda Accord top end model. At 35,000 miles the 2 year old car needed a new engine because it had a crack in it .....not related to misuse or poor maintenance upkeep. Once again, Honda stood by it. BUT THEY SHOULD NOT be having these issues. And what happens out of warranty?? PLUSES to Odyssey is perfect size and great comfort. Have loved using it on road trips....except fear of it breaking down out of town. Interior is roomy. Seats are comfortable. Third row is surprisingly comfortable. 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 younger children at one time have fit in it with relative comfort. I HATE that Honda is no longer well made and reliable. I would love to buy another (this is our 3rd), but will not due to quality concerns. I also own a 2005 Toyota 4Runner. It literally still looks fantastic. Best paint job on a car I have ever own. Very minimal repair costs. And at the 11-12 year mark I received a notice that some Runners had cracked dashboard issues. Toyota replaced them at no cost......on a 11-12 year old car. Get Honda to do that.....never.

I love my odyssey... but sadly it doesn't love me. I bought my car used it was an early lease return fully certified used honda. It has been in and out of the shop a dozen times since i bout it in june of 2014. I have had issues with the radio, seat heaters, doors, front end, pistons, my alternator went out and they even charged me for the battery that needed to be replaced after the alternator killed it... once the dealer lift broke and damaged my car. They've asked if I had been in an accident 6 months after I bought it.. itt has never been in an accident. I have put less than 30k miles on it in 4 years and sadly every issue has been different and just slightly further apart than the 18 month requirement therefore doesn't qualify for lemon status. Currently my car is in the shop with the steering column having issues and a new power steering fluid pump needed. The trim is decaying on a car that isn't that old. Ugh.. I bought this car to last through my children's childhood.. and now I have to have my extended warranty people come inspect my car.. I'll be broke soon.. well more broke than I already am.

I had a preconceived idea that minivans were not for me. After driving the Odyssey it changed my mind so much that we purchased one that very day! It is far from the traditional minivan. The look is much more sporty and sleek. The inside is so luxurious and comfortable. The best part is the little touches that make it so handy for a family. Hooks are place in the front and middle to hang trash sacks. As a mom I really appreciate things like that. I absolutely love it.

I have had my Odyssey since August 2011 and it has 35k on it. I used to love it and now I want to melt it down to form a casket. I averaged 33 miles all the time until a few months ago. I now average 11, yes you read correctly a third of what I used to get. Two dealerships cannot explain this, they did replace the struts. Why?! I have never had a car that needed this work before this soon. The other issue is the gremlins...the Bluetooth switching from phone to van to phone to van, etc while on call or not. The last irritating issue is the computer reset, the car resets itself as if you just refueled it but you haven't.

I now have my Odyssey for the full 30 days and I must tell you that I love it more every day. The exterior styling which at first looked a little odd finally started taking shape in my mind. I can now appreciate the styling much more especially after I added roof rails/racks and door moldings (a must). I also realized that Sienna's exterior style which at first looked better, looks too plain and too Japanese compared to the Odyssey.

I have been driving an Ody since 1999, the 2011 model was my 5th one. I purchased a 2011 touring elite based on the past 4 cars, assuming that it would be another set of typical Honda improvements. That is largely the case, almost everything in the car has gotten better. Unfortunately, the American design team removed the typical Japanese drive characteristics. The steering is awful. The car is all over the road especially on the highway. The steering wheel can be moved 3 inches before the car responds with a much delayed "wobble" that rolls the body. The brakes are similarly unresponsive and less precise than prior models, although hard braking is better. "Respect The Van" no more.

I traded in my 2001 Odyssey for the 2011 model... I had already owned a 2010 for over a year. I love that car. I read where reviewer keep claiming that it is not a luxury car... what ELSE can they stick in the car? "gold bars"? It seems so much more "roomier" than the 2010 (and I love that car as well). All of the electronic gadgets are wonderful. I have made many long-distance drives and have truly enjoyed the experience. I just don't understand all the complaints about the external styling... What do you want, just the "box on wheels" look? When the two cars are side by side, I ask everybody, which do they like more, the 2010 or the 2011 style... the 2011 wins!

At 3100 miles would not start - just clicked. It was a Sunday, there was no one to call, seems I didn't buy an extended warranty which would provide Honda Care/roadside. Charged battery, key dropped at dealership. Dealer advised nothing wrong, but put in a new battery just in case - mentioned no parasitic drain. Looked up parasitic drain, seems to be a chronic problem with Odyssey dating back to 2004, that is difficult to fix, and leaves many stranded. Traded in on a Yukon at a $5k + loss - Honda doesn't care - they don't even answer the phone on Sundays. By the way, fuel mileage was at worst about 20, at best about 25, with a very light foot, flat and 75% hwy w/ normal a/c use.

We decided on Odyssey over Sienna for the following reasons: 1. higher crash ratings for the front passenger; 2. usable middle seat in the second row; 3. more space in the third row; 4. the economy mode (3 or 4 cylinders) for the engine. No mater what they say, coming from Toyota Camry, the road noise is definitely noticeable at high way speeds. I feel more comfortable with Toyota’s power train. Odyssey’s transmission on some occasion downshifts rough. Brakes are soft. For leather interior you get maybe 30% real leather on some parts of van’s seats and “man made materials” for the rest. Still Odyssey looks like a good van so far and drives well.

My choice was between a Mercedes R Class & a 2011 Odyssey. Interior features & sliding doors beat out the R Class, but after less than 2 weeks, I'm having doubts. There is no way to sugar coat the lack of quality in this vehicle. The tinted windows are streaked & hazy & cannot be cleaned. The carpet is ridiculously thin and poorly installed. The flimsy fabric on the seat backs will surely deteriorate & rip out. The plastic interior finishes do not connect & the exterior panels do not line up. There is a surprising amount of wind noise on the highway. I am worried how I'll feel in 11 months if this is how I feel in 11 days. I regret not buying the R Class.

Picked up the vehicle two days ago; strikingly luxurious inside, and very nice, quiet ride. I had previously leased an '05 and an '08 and was surprised at how much more upscale the interior is on the '11. Lots of technology upgrades. I'm a little concerned that the change in the drivers foot-well will not be comfortable on long trips (left leg now not able to stretch fully). Also not happy about the roof rails no longer being present, as I actually used them on the previous models.

Have only had it for a week, so very early, but I am Miss Picky w/ cars. Great deal at dealer and great service here in MA. Not sure I believe promised MPG, but will see. I do wish it were about 4 inches narrower, but then again I am not needing to haul 8 people as this van is designed for.

This is a great van. I traded in my Porsche Cayenne S for this. We do a lot of weekend road trips and needed something a little more comfortable for the kids. I thought I'd miss the Porsche, but it hasn't been all that bad. In my opinion, that is a pretty strong statement. Handles well, rides very smoothly, and even accelerates better than expected. The interior is spacious, comfortable, and quite nice. Much nicer than any of the competitors minivans. Those all seemed cheap and harsh. We drive at 83-84 mph on the interstate and get 22 mpg.

Best driving vehicle we have ever owned. Has a very sporty/stiff suspension which is fun to drive. Can't believe it's a minivan! Very quite ride. Interior is laid out very well. We love the interior quality and ergonomics. Ride and interior quality made the difference to us versus other mini vans available. Personally, I like the exterior styling, it's sportier, differentiating, and better looking (chrome edging)than the Ody's main competitor. We opted for Nav. only EXL. We have an ipad and that keeps the kids busy on long trips. Also, DVD can be added after the fact by dealer if we change our mind on this. Eco cylinder limiting and monitoring is neat and helps us conserve fuel.
