We Love it!
Best driving vehicle we have ever owned. Has a very sporty/stiff suspension which is fun to drive. Can't believe it's a minivan! Very quite ride. Interior is laid out very well. We love the interior quality and ergonomics. Ride and interior quality made the difference to us versus other mini vans available. Personally, I like the exterior styling, it's sportier, differentiating, and better looking (chrome edging)than the Ody's main competitor. We opted for Nav. only EXL. We have an ipad and that keeps the kids busy on long trips. Also, DVD can be added after the fact by dealer if we change our mind on this. Eco cylinder limiting and monitoring is neat and helps us conserve fuel.
Honda Odyssey is Outstanding
This vehicle handles well, and is a fun experience for the entire family. With all of the added features Honda places in the van, there is no doubt that this is a vehicle that will appeal to the consumer that is hesitant to purchase a minivan. This vehicle has a unique design and styling that is intend to be progressive and streamline.

Great car
I have had many cars and this is maybe the best one yet. I have had 3 full size custom vans and one minivan. So I know what I am looking for. The interior room is great and I am 6'4" with many grandkids to occupy the second and third seats. The car has many tech features and the ride is really really great.
Odyssey is so good I got rid of my Porsche Cayenne
This is a great van. I traded in my Porsche Cayenne S for this. We do a lot of weekend road trips and needed something a little more comfortable for the kids. I thought I'd miss the Porsche, but it hasn't been all that bad. In my opinion, that is a pretty strong statement. Handles well, rides very smoothly, and even accelerates better than expected. The interior is spacious, comfortable, and quite nice. Much nicer than any of the competitors minivans. Those all seemed cheap and harsh. We drive at 83-84 mph on the interstate and get 22 mpg.
Really happy with our Odyssey
We have had our Odyssey for 5 months now and are even more pleased than the day we picked it up. We just completed a 2900 mile road trip, in which it averaged 27.5 mpg for the entire trip. Two tanks averaged 29, but were offset by one with alot of city driving. We listened to books on tape. Had the Garmin plugged into one power outlet in the dash and a dc to ac converter in the other so back seat riders could watch a movie on a laptop, which we ran thru the car's sound system. It was hot, 98 degrees for much of the trip and the A/C had no trouble keeping the car cool. We also love the tight turning radius. It's very easy to manuver in parking lots.
Suburban for Odyssey
We traded in our 07 LTZ Suburban for the 11 EX-L Odyssey. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! We have Triplet 5 year olds that we wanted to keep in their Britax seats so had limited availability. Wow! What a dream this "trucklet" is. I never wanted to be a mini-van owner, but this is heaven on earth! The Odyssey has much smaller exterior then the Suburban, but more interior room! Comfortable, sporty (2011), ease of use, seat capabilities FAR exceed the Suburban. We wanted the Mercedes R Series or the GLK and the Odyssey's options/ease of use blew the Mercedes out of the water! If you have multiple children and want a fun and comfortable ride try the ODYSSEY you will NOT be disappointed! Delighted!
Delivers on the Hype - Buy It!
Bought the E-XL on Memorial day and this review is based off 3000 miles, and one 700 mile trip to Ontario, including 2 adults, 2 children, and a Great Dane. I am a tough critic and feel that this car delivers on most of its promises. Driving 13 hours straight revealed some pros/cons. On the pro side, it was great to see MPG at 27.6 for our trip. In town, our mileage is closer to 18 mpg. Handling was precise at any speed, even with torrential rain. Cargo was amazing - Imagine a full grown Great Dane standing up, along with a weeks supply of clothes, food, and fishing gear. Plenty of room to spare. On the con side, visibility was good, not great. Console has too many bells & whistles.

Our Third Odyssey Should Tell You Something!
Nice size for city driving with easy parking and reasonable cargo space. Good visibility and easy to drive. Engine and drive train are durable and ride is comfortable. Some road noise, but partially caused by mud and snow tires. Very nice climate control system and comfortable entry and exit from vehicle. Dealership service was excellent and have never needed anything other than routine maintenance.

Never Honda V6 again
Stay away. Granted we bought CPO, but it just kept having problems after problems. Biggest issue was the engine, Honda makes worst V6. Misfire was a minor...ever driven when two cylinders go to sleep? Not fun on highway! Then we also had “suspected crack” on engine block. Well, even with CPO and within the miles Honda America wouldn’t stand by its warranty clause. While car sits without engine at honda dealer, repair bill kept piling up and no resolution. My happiest day was when we got rid of this piece of trash. Transmission was super sluggish, but come to think of it was probably due to the crack on engine. Interior was decent, AC worked, infotainment was typical Japanese system that makes no sense…. oddly third row seats felt much hotter as tire well heat up rapidly, generating heat inside the car (despite recall the heat issue never got mitigated…yeah good going honda engineering) We all know Honda changed its course in mid-2000 to become “another Toyota” , and here’s the perfect example. A poorly designed, poorly assembled, mass produced piece of junk. My friends who also owned odyssey and guess what they no longer drive honda. They also had engine issues in one case she paid out of pocket to replace engine, ouch. My advise is to stay away from any honda V6 models, just not worth. Honda should stick to 4 cylinder little cars.

Not a great van.
We've had this van for almost 8 years. You'd think Hondas should be reliable but this one fails to meet that mark. It's had engine trouble, spark plug trouble, coil trouble, and much more. We've also had electronic problems like the right power sliding door. 1 in 2 times it fails to open and close seamlessly. When driving, the experience isn't much better. The V6 in this Odyssey isn't fit for it. There is about a 2 second delay when pressing the gas pedal. When driving, rattles and squeaks are everywhere, too. Overall, this isn't a great van.

our 2nd odyssey
our first odyssey was a 2005 EXL it fit all our needs for a family of 5 we sold it because we had 250k miles on it. so we decided to purchase a used 2011 touring model with 70k we have only had the car for 2 months and there are a couple things that are questionable 1. is the transmission shifts a bit hard took it honda and they said everything is okay 2. Another thing is we got a battery low light on the instrument cluster show up recently even though the battery is new so far three months of ownership and two items that are a bit questionable gave it a three so far being that the transmission shift is very noticeable

UNDRIVABLE DISASTER
Drivers had to constantly fight the steering wheel. The slightest breeze, curve or slope of the road pulled the steering wheel so hard no one would drive it far. Honda acknowledged the problem, but stated they could not correct it. I had to sell it at very high loss.
Good for Family Life - Bad for Drivers
Bought this land yacht back new back in 2011 for a family of four, two young kids. This was my first minivan and I don't regret getting a minivan vs. a SUV - the ease of entry with the sliding doors has been worth it. The capacious rear cargo area has been an asset on road trips and runs to Home Depot. The Rear Entertainment system has also paid for itself in terms of subduing our little guys on long trips. Really, cruising on the highway with a bunch of people and stuff is what this thing was built for. It has also been reliable overall. Only replaced the brakes and dealer did so under warranty. In terms of driving, I am disappointed with the steering feel. It is so loose and imprecise, probably from being overly boosted, that it is not an easy vehicle to control, especially on the curvy undulating two lane highways we have in Tennessee. It does not inspire confidence in those situations - I'm not saying it should drive like a sports car but it makes me feel out of control even when driving the speed limit. I had heard the Odyssey was the "driver's minivan," but maybe that is just an oxymoron. My car is a Mazda 3, so that perhaps that has ruined my perception. The other issue is that the van is just very loud on the highway - wind and road noise are excessive. All in all, a good purchase for our family, but showing it's age in terms of safety tech, and lacking in the driving dynamics available in some 3-row SUVs these days - MDX, CX-9, for example.

POOR TRANSMISSION for the RPM TO JUMP
I bought this used car at texas direct auto 45,000 miles now 75,000 ,already very sluggish acceleration, engine bucks at full stop and when slowly accelerates to change gears and at 60 to 70 sometimes has a burning smell, plus now had to change the wheel bearing ,i do not recommend to buy 2011 models. but maybe after 2016 i guess ,but luckily i had extended warranty to cover these issues so its cleared now .so make sure if your taking a used car you definitely need it otherwise you would spend thousands of dollars.

Issue with Shutter in Transmission
Owned vehicle for 6 months and starting to get really bad shutter in transmission at about 40-50 mph. Safety Notice TSB 12-064 was given an obvious issue and Honda says its not a RECALL ISSUE. Our 3rd Honda we are done with the Odyssey.

2011 transmission issues
the transmission shudders @ 15-30 mph took it to the dealer 1st time told me nothing was wrong 3rd time they are waiting for honda to figure out was is the problem no time line I have a child on a ventilator this is his primary transportation they said it is safe to drive how can it be safe if they cant even tell me what the problem is my concern is being stranded with 2 kids and one with a boat load of medical equipment spoke with honda directly they said they MIGHT get back to us in 2 weeks fine we told the dealer we wanted to trade it for a pilot and in so many words they said no we needed to wait for honda to tell them what they could do! btw we didnt ask for anything special on trade in
Honda Fraud
I bought a Honda in Evanston Illinois. It was used, and was an import from Canada. I have spent over $5000 on repairs this month due to a recall. The recall will not be honored because It was imported from Canada. Honda here refuses to help. I believe this is a common problem of faulty cars from Canada being imported here and sold.

Darn fun to drive
Loving it. I got the only Touring Elite in CA. and loving it already. The drive, comfort, and handling is superior. We are planning to our first road trip in 2 weeks and can't wait.
The first month
So far so good. We traded our '02 Odyssey EX-L for the upgraded 2011. We wanted rear entertainment and navigation so we had to get the Touring model, which we enjoy. The fact that we couldn't get an EX- L with both of these features was a bit annoying, as you can get either or, but not both (Honda may be getting a little too high-brow). It drives great and handles well, and is noticeably quieter than our '02 version. The rear folding seats stow easily, so the fact that they are not powered is un-noticed. Overall is is a vastly improved version ('02 to '11 anyway) of a great mini-van.
The Real Swagger Wagon
Wife always wanted a van and from the moment we saw the 2011 model we new that this would be the one. Purchased white/beige leather and had a super smooth transaction at Bluegrass Honda in Paducah, KY. Love the exterior and we have been very impressed with the interior too. Front dash button are intuitive the RES is amazing . Only problem is my son completely disappears into DVD land once he enters the van. Very impressed with the ride and quietness. Sitting lower give a noticeable tightness around corners. My only gripe that the beige leather interior is insanely predisposed to looking dingy. Front seat bottom is black from our clothes! Concerned how well this will age with kids.
Excellent
Great car, very happy with my purchase. Excellent ride and great for my young family
Love it more than I thought I would
I traded in my 2000 Honda van with 193,000 miles. Really was looking at the 2010 discounted models - unable to find the one I wanted with the right options - we decided to consider the 2011. Beautiful interior and more options than I ever dreamed of. I wasn't crazy about the new exterior so I had roof rails and side molding added - boy does that help! It gives it the more of the profile I like about the Odysseys. The ride is very quiet and comfortable. I don't think you can go wrong with a Honda.
Great first minivan
Pros: Best minivan out there Like the looks Lots of gadgets etc. Awesome RES system Comfortable and cavernous interior Cons: (context of my first minivan after driving an Infiniti G35S) Acceleration is slow Other cars like to pass me on the freeway or cut me off now This is my first minivan and I must admit I was not sold until I had my entire family climb into it and everyone was silent and comfy. That sold me. Huge interior for the 3 kids, great seats up front with lots of gadgets for the wife, and easy to drive. Feels like I'm driving a boat compared to infiniti g35S. "Vanity succumbs to convenience and silence" -- my sister.
Excellent Van
Honda Odyssey is fun to drive and can easily accommodate families with 3 or more kids. It shows the power you need when traveling and the security you expect from a family van. Honda Odyssey runs deeply in my family and we all agree that it's a much better van than Toyota Sienna.
Best Mini Van Availible to Date.
It's a fun to drive van, good fuel economy, it's quiet and has plenty of tech features.
Better!
Bought a Touring Elite 2011 on 11/22/10 with only 2 miles on the odometer. Traded a 2010 Touring. Love to explain but there wouldn't be enough space. Read the reviews here and other sites. Some reviews were real negative and became cause for concern. This van is better than previous Odyssey's we owned by far. The stereo on the Elite is a thing to savor and the technology loaded aspect a true delight. None of the criticisms about how bad they ride, the soft ride, etc. Better built (rattle very annoying on the driver's side door previous van here, in the same harsh road, totally silent). I think for the money this one beats all competitors. The Touring Elite is the best investment. Worth it!
Lots of Space, But Not Fun to Drive
I chose this minivan over an SUV after much begging from my wife, who liked the space, practicality and fuel efficiency. I regret the purchase. Car has lots of space, but the 5-speed models still have lots of road noise. Car is fuel efficient but not much better than SUV considering this is a 2 wd. VCM spends too much time fumbling with how many cylinders you need, which results in an unpleasant drive and a lack of confidence in the car's ability to accelerate at times. 3rd row access is just as bad as in an suv especially when you have car seats in the 2nd row. Honda technology/electronics are not as intuitive or impressive as in cars like the Flex. SUV with a roof rack is a good alternative
2011 ODYSSEY
This is our 1st minivan and we bought this over a Honda Pilot because it was more sensible for our growing family. We compared the 2011 Sienna and Odyssey. The Odyssey won due to the ease of the folding rear seats and my wife liked the looks and drive better. I have only two complaints, the driver seat doesn't go back far enough (I'm 6'2)and the middle row of seats CANNOT be arranged to have the two bigger seats side by side with the smaller center seat removed for easier access to the rear. Great van otherwise, very happy.
Absolutely Amazing!
My wife and I decided to trade our 14.5 MPG Nissan Armada for this wonderful 26.0 Highway MPG living room on wheels! We purchased the Touring Elite in Smokey Topaz w/Truffle interior and it's beautiful. The overall performance is better than we expected and it's actually fun to drive. It's kind of funny that two people with no young kids are driving a minivan. It actually rides like a luxury car. The onle complaint we have however is there is something loose rolling back and forth as you make turns from left to right in the dashboard, the dealer has already pulled the dash apart once and could not fix it. It's getting ready for round 2 a complete dashboard disassemble on Monday!
"MY ODY" Loving It!!!
21 days ago I purchased a 2011 Ody EX-L, trading in a 2008 Ford Expedition EL that was getting 12 mpg. I did alot of research before making my purchase, I compared the Sienna, the Quest and the T & C. I decided on the Ody because of it's interior room, 3rd row is spacious. I like the look of the new Sienna better, but by far the Ody is the better van. The T & C has a nicer dash, as the Ody takes some getting use to. This is a fun vehicle to drive in 3 weeks I've racked up 2,200 miles, my wife and I took a trip to Branson, heavy rain all the way from KC, the Ody held the road well. Fit & finish a 9, the left rear panel sticks out. 26 mpg hwy 19.6 city combined. adding 20" rims, a guy thing!
Luxuary
We just bought and it drives and feels like a luxury car not like a minivan. I am glad I waited to buy the minivan. This is a great minivan. Turned away from Sienna since its interior looked very plastic and cheap.
Electronics are poor
I have had the 2011 with navigation system for about 2 months now. The good is that it sits a little bit lower to the ground and has good headroom. I am over 6 feet tall and the headroom and legroom are fine. It drives nicely. Compared to my prior 2001 Odyssey I would say that the ride of this van is "softer" and it is less responsive than my other van. The front hood slopes down and I am unable to see the front of the Van. This takes some time getting used to, especially parking in tight areas. Now for the AWFUL: The Navigation system is TERRIBLE. The bluetooth for the telephone drops every few miles. They are both useless.
Love the van but Hands Free Link is the WORST!
I've owned four Honda Odyssey's all Touring models. I love this 2011 version but have traded it once thinking I just had a lemon. Both 2011 Odyssey's drove well, and I loved every feature. I never had a problem with using bluetooth with any previous Odysseys (last one was 2010). Till this one. First two weeks everything was fine, then the calls would go from the car to the phone and back to the car. This was intermittent at first but then has become an ongoing problem. Hands free link does confirm the problem but has yet to find a fix. I bought the car from its introduction. The 2nd one was bought this April. I use an iPhone 4. I would rather keep the iPhone than the car
Blown away!!!!
Absolutely incredible, the only thing this van doesn't have is Nav. But I use my phone anyway. Super smooth vehicle. Can't hear the engine when it's on. It has an aftermarket remote starter which is an awesome compliment to the already unbelievable amount of features. It has a drink cooler built in. Automatic side and rear doors. Concert quality sound system. 28mpg on highways. Heated seats, leather interior. Bluetooth links car to phone for phone calls. Plenty of room and storage. Super sharp looking vehicle. The very best vehicle I have ever owned in my 50 years of living. Stoked about this van. Separate temperature zones. According controls for middle seat passengers. Just wow. Totally blown away by the quality and performance and intelligent design of this van. I don't even want any other vehicle.

Right side sliding door
We have had our honda odyssey now for 5-6 years and already replaced the motor and cable for the sliding door 3 times, also replaced the alternator twice. The reason we bought it was we heard honda last for ever, and it had 8 seats, but at this rate we are actually paying more for this vehicles issues then any other vehicle we have ever owned. Just to say were not pleased and will not buy Honda again. And its not even a recall which it should be.
Total POS
This vehicle has been nothing but a colossal waste of money. With barely 100,000 miles on it it barely runs and the doors?!? I could rant for days. You have to replace the motors about every 1 1/2 years, just long enough to not be covered under the warranty. We still owe on this but we’re screwed because we’ve sunk 1000 after 1000 into the pos and it still doesn’t run right!!!! If I could sue Honda and get anywhere I, would.
Great minivan
This minivan has a smooth, comfortable, and sporty feel to it. It's very high quality and reliable. after thirteen years, and over 166000 miles, the car still has a nice ride and minimal problems

Mobile House!
I had a 2005 EX-L, 2009 EX, and Now the 2011 Touring Elite. This is the best one. Feels connected to ground and solid. People think its an SUV sometimes. The Kids love the entertainment system. I just love this Minivan! I enjoy taking the kids out in this Honda. Other cars I had include lexus IS-F, Audi A4, Lexus GS 08, BMW Z3 but the odyssey I can drive all day!
The Best of the Bunch!
Purchased a Touring Elite Odyssey about a month ago. Had a 2010 Odyssey we traded in. The 2010 was already making unwanted noises, rattles and more. The 2011 is much more quiet than previous Odysseys we owned. The stereo system is superior than all previous Honda models, if only for the wattage. The ride is as expected, comfortable and uneventful, and again noise cancellation is superior than previous Odysseys. Room is plentiful and gas mileage a little better than previous models. The technology aspect is quite remarkable. It seems they decided to include just about every which way and it shows. The looks of the van are somewhat different from the 2010 but it does look good all around.
So far, so good.
I traded in my 06 Volvo XC90, which was begining to exhibit some issues after it hit 100k miles (i.e. air conditioning going out TWICE), as well as having extremely expensive repair costs. While I am not completely in love with the current body style for the Odyssey, it is a very functional, well designed van. I am enjoying driving it. It's smooth and responsive in city traffic and feels as heavy as my Volvo. I am also finding it to be way more functional in terms of its interior layout for a family. The seats are as comfy as those in my Volvo. Fingers crossed that this vehicle will have far more long term durability than the Volvo.
New Odyssey is Great
I had a 2008 EX model prior to this. This time, I leased the "base" model, as it was most affordable, and I didn't think I'd miss the power doors and a couple of other features. I do miss them, but not that much. The overall appearance even on the LX model is nicer, more rugged appearance. Love the 17" wheels, even the LX model looks nicer than my old one. Brakes are noticeably better. I do like the controls on the old EX better. Overall though, the feeling, responsiveness of this van is a step up from the old model.
