Top-of-the-line Model w/ Navigation
Overall excellent vehicle. Honda attention to design and reliability is well-known. My only concern with a design flaw is in regard to the optional roof rack (see my note below for suggested improvement). MPG tends to vary from manufacturer ratings. Inner city = 14-15 mpg; suburban city = 20-21 (rated at 20); highway = 30-33 (rated at 27). I was pleasantly surprised with a maximum of 33 MPG highway (60-65 mph) for Interstate driving; I recommend the high-end EX-L w/ Navigation, as well as optional fog lamps, mud flaps, all-weather & cargo mats; body-side molding; & Remote starter. Avoid the base model, as it won't hold resale value - opt for the EX with leather and/or navigation.
Compact with a mid size feel...
We have driven this CRV for about 1,000 miles and taken a few trips. This design is very refined with road and wind noise very well controlled. The engine is very smooth and quiet. The typical 4 cyl rev can be heard when accelerating, but is not intrusive or loud. It has very responsive handling and power. While we have yet to do one of those "pedal to the metal" passes, the engine does allow very good pick-up with surprising torque. In comparison to the 2010 Forester, Rav4, and Venza, only the Venza beat it in ride refinement and quiet. However its 2.6 was slightly sluggish with the larger vehicle. The CRV feels more like a midsize in the passenger area than a compact.

I am Loving It
Great purchase decision. Love the car in totality. Lovely exterior and luxurious interiors makes Honda CRV the best buy of 2009 making it a value for money car. No complaints and fun to drive.
First Honda
Decided to purchase my first Honda and wanted something more than a car but not as much as a SUV. I test drove the CRV first and that is all it took. It has more room on the inside than one would think by looking at it from the outside. My kids and husband all love it and I call it the ultimate grocery getter...plenty of room for everything. I love the ride and the fuel mileage is average 26 mpg. Love it!
Option
I love this vehicle, from A to Z except that there are few options you need to add to instead of standard equipments.I bought the top of the line model but I have to add the fog light and the auto dimming night/day mirror. These common option should have been standard on the top of the line model.
Great Car-Love it
This is a great value for money car and flawless.... I am a working mom of an infant and couldn't have asked for a better car for myself. Great interior which gives a nice luxury feel and love the way it drives. Go get it.
Good Transition
We had VW's for 42 years. When our local dealer closed without any notice we looked for something closer but still reliable. Reviews of the CR-v mentioned a stiff ride but we always appreciated the firmness of the VW's. Reviews mentioned the lack of massive horsepower. We were used to that. We test drove one and bought the same day. The transition from auto to SUV (CUV) was seamless.
Best Car We've Ever Owned
This CR-V (2009) is the greatest car ever. Thinking of a small SUV? Be sure to test drive the CR-V!! I can't believe people have complained of road noise-this auto is so quiet! Handling is immediate and sure-footed. Acceleration is superb. Interior design is great - all controls are clearly marked and easily reached by the driver and front seat passenger. Don't forget! Give a CR-V a test drive.
Favorite New Car
Just purchased the CRV EX-L and am loving it! Great performance on our windy mountain roads and fun to drive. Went all out with this one the EX-L model and it is a luxurious interior.
Great ride
Bought the 09 in September and now have 21000 miles on it. Of course, all highway driving and I am averaging 26.2 mpg. I do watch the mpg gauge but average about 63-66 mph on my 39 mile commute (ea way). Lots of storage room when I drive to/from my kids' colleges. Added a Thule kayak rack - busted my knuckles but works well. Great fit and finish. No problems other than brake grinding noise which turned out to be small stone that got caught up in brakes - just shook it out. Downsides: Fabric stains easily. No middle console, just cheapo holder between front seats which wastes space. These are awfully minor points and I love the CR-V, will def buy another when I hit about 130K or so.
Bestest car I ever had!
I love everything about this auto, would buy another one just like it if needed. 14 years old and only major service needed was a new air conditioner. Other than that only routine maintenance.

3rd CRV very dissappointing
This is our 3rd CR-V; loved the first two; dislike this one. Very unhappy with the design and the gas mileage. The new shift design leaves no floor room and long legs hit their knees. Also, the outlet is way under the bumped out shift column. I miss the tire mount on the rear, the ability to lift the back window alone; you have to latch the seats when down or they fall back and the interior color choices were all light which stain easily. Only getting 22 on the highway. Usually keep 3-4 yrs, will be trading this one soon
Overrated
I bought this car last week and drove around 121 miles. I think if you are looking for a comfort, dont buy this car. It has a small leg room for driver, crappy music system, worst driver seat and a stiff steering wheel. There no fun driving this car. STAY AWAY FROM IT. I would suggest rent this car for a weekend before to make a down payment.
Just Another
Well I was sold on all the hype of reliability. My wife is really upset we traded a Chevy that has zero issues to one that has us at the Honda Dealer every week. All little stuff from rattles to AC not working. Oh yeah my second transmission in 18000 Miles. Did I get a lemon? Don't think so, lots of others in the waiting room at Honda thinking what did I do. Oh the new body style will be better; seems they are doing a redesign to modernize it like the Nissan, Chevy , Ford and Mitsubishi.
2009 CR-V Good buy
I sold my 2005 Murano, I thought I downgraded to a CR-V but I was wrong. Better handling, excellent interior design, fun to drive. Handles extremely well on snow and heavy rain.
Too Loud!!!
My only real complaint is interior noise. Both wind and road noise is much higher than my 2003 Pilot and even with my wife's Mazda 5. Very comfortable seating. I seem to think there is too much plastic in the rear which takes up storage room. Also some of the storage areas on the dash could be bigger. Great radio and steering feel.
Love the CR V
We traded in our 04 Chrysler Town and Country that had 170,000 (my husband drives a lot for work)for the CR V. What a great and fun to drive truck it is! Our other car is a Volvo XC90, and while I enjoy driving it, the CR V is so easy to maneuver and park that I have virtually kidnapped th CR V from my husband. It really is a great value compact SUV for the money, not to mention the Honda reliability. This is our 3rd Honda and we couldn't be more pleased.
Best Auto Choice!
I just purchased my Honda CR-V yesterday April fools day after deciding to get rid of my 2002 Saturn Vue, and I love it already! The ride and audio is great along with the look and feel in it. I know that with owning a Honda I will be much happier and feel safer as well as spend less in repairs. While owning the Saturn Vue, repairs seemed like they were happening constantly with me spending lots of money to fix up. I know that with Hondas great service and reliability, there wont be a problem like that. This is why I went with a Honda CR-V.
A great vehicle for the price
After three weeks I'm generally pleased with the over all performance of the car. Seating is much better then my old 2001 CRV. Not having the spare tire hanging on the back door is a plus. The handling is excellent on dry roads and also on snow covered streets. Power is adequate for a 4-cyl engine. A much better vehicle then the Toyota or Subaru competition.
Gorgeous CRV
I just bought my 2009 Honda CRV LE (base model) two weeks ago. I got the glacier blue color with gray interior. Its a beautiful car w/ exquisite design. The interior is spacious (high ceiling) and adjustable high seating offer panoramic view. Good trunk size to haul groceries & furniture. Its a fun & sporty looking car. Handling can be a bit stiff and the engine drags when you try to accelerate (but then again it is a 4 cylinders). The following need improvements: 1. Lack power when you try to accelerate, make all trims V6. 2. Trunk door should release/pop automatically w/ press of button. 3. Add alarm to all trims.
Happy with Purchase
We liked the car when we first bought it, and our satisfaction has only improved. We bought the CR-V because we thought it was really functional given our lifestyle (baby and two dogs). It was one of the few small suvs that could comfortably fit our car seat behind the front passenger seat. That, combined with Honda's rep for reliability and safety, sealed the deal. We've driven it for 2 weeks now and really enjoy the ride. The only negatives are that the sight lines to the rear aren't ideal (but they are more than acceptable). Also, the seats aren't the most comfortable/luxurious, but neither are they uncomfortable. We got the LX trim level, however, so that's to be expected.
AMAZING!
I just got this car a few weeks ago and I am in love. I don't know why it gets low reviews on its exterior - that's the part that attracted me to it the most. I didn't like how it looked prior to 2007, but since its remodeling the Honda CR-V is by far a lot better looking than the Rav4 and Rogue if you ask me. I love the sleek, aerodynamic exterior - beautiful. The inside is comfortable (hard seats?? I don't think so.) and I love the nighttime lighting inside. I love the CR-V's reliability and how safe I feel inside. The MPG is great...I've been averaging 22.2 on city roads. Has lots of space and I love the sunroof and tinted back windows. I pretty much am obsessed with my new car.
Extremely disappointed with this CRV
We traded our 2002 Honda CRV for this 2009 Honda CRV. Same car, right? Wrong! The 2009 CRV we purchased 10 weeks ago has horrible wind noise/wind shear when you go over 55 mph. We have not yet had it on a freeway where we can drive 70 mph. We will do that next Tues. and take it back to the dealership once again. It has already been looked at twice and the last time the "windshield molding was poorly glued and removed, resealed and reinstalled." The noise is still the same. And when you go over bumps, there are various noises yet to be examined by the dealership. As much as I loved my 2002 Honda CRV, that's how much I hate my 2009 Honda CRV. Lemon law is becoming an option.
Great First Impressions!
Have owned several Accords both 4 and 6 cyl. Always great performers but I now need AWD (Colorado mountains/plains) and storage room. 27/32 HWY and 22/24 urban - REALLY. Very impressed w/power and trans. in mountain and normal terrain. Big guy, it is comfortable and stability is outstanding; w/performance in windy conditions surprisingly good. Have not had any snow to test in yet. Compared with Forester (lousy 4 spd trans.) almost went w/it anyway, Rav4 (not as stable and the swing out rear door is dangerous) and Edge (lousy mpg but felt substantial).
Front End
We are having trouble with our front end the car wants to wander. We aligned it and it still has a wander and will vibrate When the wheel is turned there is resistance in the wheel like something obstructing the turning radius
Very good
I own this car 10 уears and have no problem. Except paint damage because of hard sun here in southern California. I have nothing to sheltering car and never did any coating, my mistake.

Fun for the Price
Great Car, should last beyond the payments. Front seats are weird, but not too tough, we love it and have seen many on the roads in Florida... Center Console is different, but we're ok with it... Great Job Honda.
Most uncomfortable vehicle I have owned
I purchased my CRV in November. After driving it for about 5,000 miles, I have decided that I can't stand this vehicle and will be selling it. The ride is too stiff, the seats are uncomfortable, the dash board slopes away from the driver. I drive a lot and while I like this vehicle, I am not comfortable in this car. Too bad the dealer would not allow me more than a 10 mile test drive. If I could of test drove this car for a couple of days, I would not have bought it. But live and learn.
Avoid at all cost!
timing-belt pressure release crapped out at 140 km along with the AC would not buy another Honda CRV another disposable car like a Chrysler
Would not buy another Honda!!!
I have had 2 issues with my vehicle that was not resolved to my satisfication after contacting the Corporate Office. I believe they are known issues and Honda does not care. My next purchase will be a different Manufacturer.

Reliable, but LOUD
Have about 15K on the CRV now. Plenty of power, smooth shifting and very high reliability. My only compliant is that the road noise in this vehicle is almost unbearable. I can't speak on the cell phone (even with headset) and the stereo has to be so loud to overcome the noise. Honda needs to address this issue. I think as American cars improve, they will be really hurt Honda by increasing cabin comfort. Just took 800 mile road trip only got 23.5 MPG-disappointing.
Awesome
This CR-V is absolutely awesome. It is beautiful in design and comfort and has all the extras I wanted. I have grandchildren and it is perfect. My sister just bought one too. The EX-L is just gorgeous and handles like a dream. Can't go wrong with this one for price and luxury. I only buy Honda and this one is the best!
Goodbye Jeep Liberty Hello CRV
After driving a Jeep Liberty for 1.5 years we decided to trade up to a Honda. We constantly remind ourselves of the wise choice we made. We have now owned it for 8 months and 10k miles and still love it as much as we did when we drove it off the lot. It is very sporty, practical and for the most part comfortable. The 4 cyl engine should produce a more efficient mpg but 24-27 is almost double what we were getting in our V6 Liberty with almost as much power. The LX is very basic, but it gets you from point A to point B while having fun. I never realized how many were on the road until we bought it. Haven't regretted our purchase one bit.
Smart Car for Local Driving
This is my third Honda; previously I had owned a 99 Accord and 04 Accord, both 4 cylinders. This cr-v actually shares the same engine as the 04 Accord, so given its bigger size, it lacks some power. Yet it had the most comfortable ride of the other cars I test drove - the rav4 and rogue. This car is great for local driving to run errands and stuff but for long distance driving it lacks the horsepower to make it up the hills easily. I also feel and hear the engine having to work too hard which isn't good.
alright suv
We bought the CRV to replace a Town and Country. My wife wanted something smaller to use for work. It is very noisy on the Houston roads, the car has 23,000 miles and the tires are already showing alot of wear. If you put the back windows down at highway speeds, there is a deafening noise that sounds like a jet is taking off in your back seat. The mileage is also not as good as we expected. Sitting in both front seats on long trips isn't all that enjoyable
Noisy!
I bought the LX new in September 2009. I am still not used to the SUV differences from my previous Toyota Camry. I find it noisy, my #1 complaint, even though I had it undercoated, there is still a lot of road noise and there is a lot of wind noise in the windshield area. The gas mileage is also not as good as advertised. I would spend a lot more time test driving other makes next time.
One of a kind.
Car is in outstanding condition and represents an excellent candidate for someone seeking reliable, dependable transportation.

I Like My 09 CRV LX
We have four Hondas (one an 08 CRV) in the family, so sold on reliability. It came down between the CRV and Hyundai Santa Fe. I really liked the Santa Fe for the money, but I drive cars 10-15 years, and felt better about Honda's long term reliability. I have not noticed the road noise problem I have read about. The CRV is fun to drive, and does very well on the interstate. I like the maintenance minder, mpg display, etc. The ride and seats are a little firmer than I like (67 yrs old), but not that uncomfortable. My only problem was "rail rust" in the paint on top. I used a clay bar to help remove it. I do not understand why the top can't be covered in transit. So far, very satisfied.
Blues Little Gem
Love my CR-V! Got the CR-V with all the bells and whistles, it is incredible!
Excellent
Replaced my minivan with the CRV. After researching other competitive vehicles (Rav4, Rogue, Tiquan) went for the CRV. Have owned Hondas in the past and do now. Great vehicles. The CRV is in line with my past purchases.
CR-V
We test drove the 2008 CR-V and then we test drove the 2009 CR-V, same model and packages. The new 2009 CR-V was more responsive and handled much better and was very comfortable . Even though we we told that nothing really change from the 2008 model we felt a positive different. The deal was good and the car was excellent
Happy Honda Owner
Just bought my CRV last week and so far so good, I am thrilled with it! Downsized from a Dodge Caravan and not missing the extra room at all. Drives great, looks great (Tango Red) and best of all I'm loving the better gas mileage. Handles so well and the moon roof and GPS are added bonuses!
Brake Dust
We have owned several Hondas. This is the first to have brake dust! We traded in a CRV that did not do this. The 09 model does w/ less than 1300 miles.
I'm surprised... I like it!
The CR-V is my first SUV. It was purchased to deal with the deep winter snows we've been getting here more often. So, while I'm most interested in utility, finding that the CR-V really handles well, has great road feel and peppy performance is an unexpected bonus. Gas mileage is higher than I expected, too. This is a thoroughly excellent vehicle.
Nice driver, versatile usage
I bought my black L as a used car, it had 4k miles on it, and for those 4k miles I got a $5K discount from new price. Love the looks, handling, power is adequate, coming from an audi a6 I needed to learn how to paas with it. It takes a little more time. Mileage is about 22 around town and 27- 32 on the hi-way depending on speed. I drove 100 miles at 55 and got 34mpg not bad for an suv.
New CR-V after 2500 miles
This is our first Honda, in fact our first car other then one from the "big 3". The CR-V is a real pleasure to drive. It replaced a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 170K miles. As of now the MPG's are at 22 but this is only local driving. The voice recognition system needs some improvement. It rarely gets the command right the 1st time. I'm surprised at the amount of road noise inside & this might be a factor with the voice commands. We also have a new 09 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2dr. The Jeep is much quieter & has less road noise at 60MPH. We usually keep a vehicle for 15 yrs or more so I hope it'll last. My wife drives the CR-V 90% of the time.
Love My CR-V EX-L
CR-V is my first SUV. We loved the concept of SUV but were worried about the handling and gas consumption. We selected CR-V for its roomy interior, high mileage and its standard configurations. Honda is simpler and EX-L had all the features we wanted and none we didn't care about. It was a great decision. The handling is so smooth that it feels like a car. The mileage is very close to sedan. We love all the luxury features come with it.
Love My CR-V!
We have had this car for 8 months so far and I love it! Just took our first long trip (1800 miles) and thought it was time to write a review. There is very little we don't like. The CR-V replaced our Pontiac Montana - wanted something a little smaller, but not a car. For a long trip that we make once a year, we missed the extra space, but for the rest of the year, it is great!
