It's a Lemon - Many Parts Have Failed

JohnnyM, 09/09/2009
2006 Honda Civic EX 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (1.8L 4cyl 5A)

Many parts failed: rear wheel bearings- 28K; rear shocks-38K; A/C compressor- 15K; now, front strut-55K; horn-56K; Nav system--stopped working for 1 day, came back the next (54K); visors, break-3X (told they weren't made for Arizona)-15K,34K, 51K; cruise control- often won't engage (told that brake pedal part fails, so "just push down hard on brake" - 39K); ft. brake calibers-defect (22K); recall-starter- fire danger-40K. Honda North America will not stand behind product -says " "...it's too bad...not our problem, it's yours." This is our 3rd Honda, 2nd Civic - never had any real problems until this. Car REALLY slow from start, but then ok; 4-wheel disk brakes shudder and under-responsive.

8th generation the best generation

After driving 5th 6th 7th generation Civics I was never impressed they were noisy slow shifted harshly with the four speeds they had good gas mileage never coming off some terrible transmission issues was Japanese automatic transmission company putting garbage Autos in the Honda Civic 01 and 02 are the absolute worst for these issues so I avoided Civics like the plague until I test drove an 8th generation Coupe I'm telling you right now this little car is a badass automobile I have 211 thousand miles on it said no major repairs except for the cooling system which I did cuz there was a crack in the plastic radiator so I have put a metal one in and replaced water pump and therm control arm and susp have been replaced, 3rd brake job in 211k miles... These R18s are absolutely bulletproof the early manf issues that were causing cracked blocks was taken to heart and Honda fixed all affected for free up to 10 years

What a great Ride!

We love our new Honda! -- From the incredible interior, to the futuristic styling of the exterior, this car is great. Our first road trip we loaded up our two kids and headed from Greenville, SC to Philadelphia PA! -- We used a whopping 4 tanks of gas (this would have been one way in our old wagon) and had plenty of room for our luggage, kids, junk, etc. This car is more spacious and comfortable than previous hondas. The Navigation system is awesome...we ran into traffic in DC, chose "Avoid Route" and drove right around a 2 hour delay -- and lost no time at all! What a great RIDE!

Civic-2006 Motor Trend car of the year!

Owned 6 Hondas in all. I prefer the Si over the EX but no 4dr. After thorough research, went with the Atomic Blue Ex. I've got more attention on this civic than my Acura TL. Best in its class. Test drove all competitors and civic is the champ in all aspects. stylish, Value, reliable and fun to drive. Civic earned a Motor Trend Car of the year award beating out Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes.

This car has everything. Reliability, comfort and safety. I looked at the VW jetta and i felt the drivin performance on the civic was much better. The illumination on the dashboard is amazing. Everything about the car is perfect. I would recommend this car to anyone.
