100,000 on the odometer and going strong. Had to replace injectors and water pump so far. Have used full synthetic the whole life of the car.

A solid performer with a few quirks

I recently purchased a 2015 Ford Taurus SEL that came with several upgrades, including All-Wheel Drive, leather seating, a sunroof, and 20 inch wheels as opposed to the standard 18-inch wheels for the SEL. Overall, I like this car. It feels solid when driving, features an upscale cabin, and rides very well. It has a ton of technology which is a mixed blessing ... everything works, but I agree with the Edmunds review that calls the My Touch viewscreen "frustrating." It seems fussy and complicated. One criticism of this generation of Taurus is the driver's seating position. Personally, I have been able to find a comfortable position that is not too elevated, and I am six feet tall. The tilt and telescoping steering wheel, along with power adjustable gas and brake pedals, are very helpful in that regard. The seating is comfortable and the seat can be adjusted several ways. But here is a quirk: this sedan, equipped like a Limited, only has manual controls for the driver's seat back and lumbar support! Leather seats, a sunroof, but manual controls ...an unusual combination IMO. Having said that, I have been able to adjust my seat successfully to achieve a comfortable driving position. I disagree with the Edmunds review that says the car offers "poor" outward visibility overall. I agree that the rear window is quite narrow, but otherwise I feel like the front and side windows give good visibility. I agree that the interior seems smaller than one might expect for such a large car, particularly the rear seating, which seems more like a mid-sized sedan's rather than a full-sized. I think they could have reduced the enormous trunks by a couple of square feet to allow for more room in back. The standard 3.5 liter V6 gets the car where it needs to go. It is fine, but no one will mistake this vehicle for a performance sedan. 288 horsepower is good enough but lags behind some other large sedans. The ride quality is pleasant. Gas mileage is a ho-hum 21 mpg combined. But the All-Wheel Drive is sure welcome in wintry road conditions. Another minor quirk for this sedan is the location of the trunk release button. For some reason it has been placed on the passenger side of the center console. I've never seen that before in any car I have owned. It took me several minutes to find the darn thing because I was looking in the wrong place! Well, with all of its quirks, this Taurus delivers a smooth ride, decent powertrain, upscale cabin, and adequate performance. I like its exterior appearance. Overall I am happy with the 2015 Taurus SEL AWD.

2015 Ford Taurus Limited

2015 Ford Taurus Limited 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

A large comfortable highway car loaded with creature comfort features and technology features with great sound system. The Limited is no SHO in terms of flat out performance but the 3.5 Duratec 6 cylinder paired with 6 speed tranny gets the job done and it gets better mpg's when cruising long distance that added fuel economy goes a long way to ease the cost of traveling.

Garbage ONLY 13K MILES

Ford sync system is horrible at only 13k miles. First every once a week for 3 months it would keep disconnecting and unpair my phone. After that it got worse to the point where it would connect my phone and recognize it but it will not play audio though the car but my phone shows the volume going up for the bluetooth system. What I would do than was to delete device from the system and add it fresh again. That was working for about a month and now it does not connect at all. I have never seen a interface be that stupid in a car. Driving wise the car has poor handling around simple turns it feels like a mid size pick up truck. The transmission shifts really slowly and sometimes it will downshift for no reason when your in sport mode when it should really be uplifting. I will hit upshift but the car decides to downshift instead.
