"A Real Full-Size Road Car"

2015 Ford Taurus SEL 4dr Sedan AWD (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

This is America's full size road car. I rented it several times during work travel then went out and purchased it. I also rented the 300 and Impala, several SUV's. But I prefer the road car and the Taurus is the best bang for the buck. It's actually the largest of the three by an inch all around, slightly higher beem, and heaviest.. It has the best safety rating. But for me it came down to road comfort for my self, family, associates, and golf friends. Most of my male associates are 6' plus and tip 200. You get the leg room, head room and ease of getting in and out. This Taurus is smooth, has a huge trunk, 4 golf bags luggage, kitchensink and other.. I can see why law enforcement guys have it. The technology is good+, power train, engine very good, and I'd recommend the 4 wheel drive if you can get it (Midwest winters). On open road and Hi-way you feel secure and "King of the Road", rain and stiff winds are minor concerns. Excellent freeway mileage, not great local driving. As a salesman I love this thing. Heard Ford may be retooling w new design in a year or two. Anxious to see it. The 2017 may be a good value if considering. Lot of car for the money. No issues at all, 2+ years

Not the best in class, but definitely worth a look

We got our 2015 Ford Taurus on New Year's Eve, 2016, and so far it has been a good car. Starting with the exterior, our Tauruses last owner had fitted our Limited with the great-looking SHO wheels, and, combined with the exterior styling that has aged well, it looks really good. The 3.5L V6 is also pretty great as well, with good acceleration for a V6 at around 6.6 seconds, but fuel economy is definitely not the best. I average around 17 or 18mpg in the city, which is good, but not great. Also, it should be noted that the car will require a costly water pump repair at around 100,000 miles to keep the engine running well. Just know this isn't a car that will get you noteworthy fuel economy in the city. More problems arise with gas at the station, where the tank will never fill to capacity, only filling to about 13 of its 19-gallon tank. That makes you need to stop at the station a lot more. The transmission has a few quirks as well, most notably where sometimes the car will have a jolting shift when you let off the gas when the transmission wants to shift. Other than that, the Taurus is pretty put together mechanically and has been pretty reliable, as well as quick. Moving on to the interior, there are many things to note about this car. First is how you get in. The Taurus sits high, almost as high as a crossover, which makes it super easy to get in and out, especially if you get a Limited with the Easy Entry/Exit feature. Next, when you're in, the dash seems to jut out onto you, which looks pretty cool, and there are the touch-sensitive Sync controls, which aren't as bad as every car reviewer says. The controls are pretty easy to use, and after about a month or so of living with the Taurus, I knew exactly what to do. There are also voice commands to control many different things. As for legroom, the car is not as good in the rear as an Avalon or Impala, but the trunk is absolutely massive! On top of that, visibility is a concern, with a small rear window and big A and B pillars, but I fit well, and can see everything thanks to the blind spot mirrors that Ford put in. However, 5 foot 5 people or shorter might have a hard time getting comfortable in the car. Make sure to test drive before you buy! Overall, I believe this car is definitely worth a look, especially since now you can get a great deal on one since it has been canceled. Update: Water pump was replaced at 103k miles. I was quoted $6,000 at the Ford dealer, but found a local shop that did it much cheaper. When considering this car, you MUST keep the water pump and timing chains in mind. Lucky for me, I caught it before any damage was done.

After driving a pickup truck for twelve years and liked driving nieces Taurus. I thought it was time in my life to enjoy driving a car that drove and looked nice. People are impressed with the look of the Taurus. Love my new ride.

I have a 2015 SEL Taurus! Too many blind spots with smaller windows like the very old Taurus before they put the name on the Ford Five Hundred. It was more roomier than the Ford Taurus now. It handles great in rain, snow, & ice! Most comfortable of the Sel. It is more expensive buying it new. I love the warm bummers and the a/c bummers. Love the wipers coming on automatic and the dimmer on and off automatic. Very low MPG.

Cramped left foot

Left leg, 10/13/2015

Left foot very uncomfortable. No space for someone 6 foot. Make sure you are aware of this during the test drive. Now I'm stuck and can't stretch my left leg.
