Wonderful large sedan.
Very reliable. Excellent engine and drivetrain. Plastic "chrome" finish on shifter trim coming off. Electric driver's seat control is becoming intermittent as is the cabin fan. Update: I sold the Taurus in 2022 with 262,000 miles. The fan and switch issues resolved themselves and I never performed more than basic maintenance. It ran like a champ, great car. It's November 2022, 6 months after selling, and I still see it on the road.

On my second taurus
I originally had a 2009 ford Taurus and loved it. It was comfortable, safe and surprisingly peppy with the gas pedal. It also gave me around 25 MPGs, most of which were highway. It had 200,000 miles on it when a deer decided to take it out. I repaired it with junkyard parts but found a great deal on a lower milage 2008. I bought the 2008 with 91,000 miles and still drive it now. It just rolled 176,000 miles the other day. Still drives like new and delivers 25 MPGs. I love these cars and I’ll never understand why ford stopped making them.

ZERO complaints in the 8+ years I’ve had my Taurus
In 2011 I bought my 2008 Taurus sel with around 40k Miles on it. 8+ years later I’m about to hit 300,000 (@298k now) and up until this past summer I had done nothing but change the oil, brakes, tires and light bulbs and a battery. This car had been totally reliable and even the few repairs I’ve had to do over the past 6 months since hitting 250k were still things that go bad in any car after a while (tire-rod, wheel bearing and ac compressor). Parts are not expensive at all and being a common, American car they’re easy to find. Paid $175 for tire rod, $20 for ac compressor from a salvage yard and $75 for a wheel bearing!

Best vehicle I have owned!
Honestly I never even looked at a Ford before purchasing this one, but now it is the first brand I look for when car shopping. The things I love: This car sits higher than most cars so it is very easy for my handicapped mother to get in and out. The all wheel drive is amazing. We zip in and out of snowed in places easily while others have to wait for the plow! The sound is great and easily adjustable. There is not a lot of road or motor noise and the seats are plush and comfortable. There is an amazing amount of space in the car! When we purchased it our kids could easily walk between the back of the drivers seat and the back seat when the front seats were in their normal position. The trunk is HUGE! The only thing we have had to fix on this car in the 9 years and 185,000 miles we have owned it was something in the steering column. We have had to fix it twice and it was not cheap, but the car is so reliable otherwise that it’s ok!

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
This car is a very large and safe sedan, but is very easy to maneuver in busy areas of the parking lot. The rear seats are HUGE with tons of leg room. My 6'8" friend has no problem sitting anywhere in the car. I have had zero engine or transmission issues, just the basic up keep. The V6 is very quick for a big car, and is longer than a minivan! Trunk space is amazing, and great visibility all around. I have been driving on the highway lately and have been getting in the 21's mpg and a 400 mile range on fuel. Love this car!
